Obtaining this VUK took me about an hour and a half of cursing and having to write some (thankfully by this point simple) C programs to help in the effort. What a bloody screwed up release by WB/National Geographic!

This time around I verified that the key works, by using DumpHD 0.32 to dump the first few files. CHEETACHASE.EVO happily played once decrypted (PowerDVD reports MPEG2 at approximagely 8 megabit with DDplus 2.0 for audio, at least for this particular file).

So please give it a go, and see if this VUK works for you.

It it does, this is yet another case where one has to break DRM in order to play legitimately purchased disc on a system.

Hi!

I just found something weird.
I used aacskey to get the key of my hddvd. Added it do the database of dumphd, as the last line.
Dumphd always said, disc not found in database. Then I moved the line up, to the first few lines. Now dumphd finds the key.
Is that normal?

Is that normal?Sounds like one of your lines has an error, so as long as the key is before the error, then it works.
But according to the title of this thread, we are supposed to "post questions in the forum please".

I have been reading these forums and am still not able to find the VUK on my own yet. How do you guys do it. I have Letters from Iwo Jima and I cannot for the life of me get it. HELP:confused:

I've just rented V for Vendetta on HD DVD and ripped the two PEVOB.EVO files onto my hard drive to watch the movie. The files are there (around 7-8 Gb in size each) but they wont play in Cyberlink Power DVD 6.5 (HD DVD version). I have had success playing my "Forbidden Planet" and "King Kong" HD DVD discs in this way but cant do it for this one. The files open for a couple of seconds, make a weird high pitched scratchy audio sound and then stop playing. I really want to watch this film too. Any help is much appreciated.

Yes - Why post in this thread - which is clearly marked not to ask questions in anyway - after your other thread was closed for rule 6 violation?

As avih has said, you are running awfully close to the wind and are within a bees diaphragm of being suspended.

Go buy the DVD before asking questions.

Hi, here's an up-to-date (as of 1:21 AM PST Jun 5) KEYDB.cfg, as well as the same in XML format.

@Janvitos - I converted it for ya, and my earlier post has a Perl script anyone can use to convert other entries.

Also, in the old-format KEYDB.cfg, all spaces between the title/origin and |V| have been converted into nicely-aligned tabs.

EDIT: As I have been unable to lay my hands on an actual keydb.xml file, my knowledge of it is limited to the one example of it posted in this thread. Thus, this keydb.xml file contains ONLY THE INDIVIDUAL MOVIES' ENTRIES. Thank you. If anyone knows a link for the actual example keydb.xml file, please PM the link to me so I can correct this file and my Perl script. Feature requests for the script are also welcome IN PM's. To repeat, feature requests are welcome but please use the PM mechanism rather than posting to this thread.

I don't know how that happened. But it was the 2 at the beginning, not the A at the end. :thanks:
I never post until dumphd at least says "ok" - though I just tried to watch the file on the hdd, and it of course gave me a black screen. Am redumping now. :rolleyes:

There is no need for this, the new format contains no new or changed information, its even possible to write a converter to convert between the two formats (as long as the new format entry only contains one keytype).
