I think the button "calculate sample" could be withdrawn if you manage the program to recalculate every time that size boxes change in "prediction" tab.

I thought that you would understand.

I meant that you can withdraw that button if when video size, audio size and/or extra size boxes change, the final sample size was recalculated.
For example, you change the video size then the sample is recalculated. In the textbox_VideoSize() (or what you call it) change event.
Same when audio size change. the textbox_AudioSize() (or what you call it) change event.
Same when extras size change. the textbox_ExtrasSize() (or what you call it) change event.

hi anon ... i've used gspot to see the avi details ... and the problem is, either prog or interlaced isn't selected... after i load the video file... same happen with the rest of the video codec options. (tff/bff) i tried about 3 videos and in every video it happens the same thing. i attach a gspot gif. tks

(the two small images at the bottom of video details are grey) was supose one of them be hilighted ... is there other application?

k0D what your describing is a gspot issue not AutoQ, from my quick test gspot gives prog, interlaced indication only for mpeg2 files, to test yourself if an image is interlaced or progressive, read the CCe FAQ, you'll find instructions there.
as for images you can upload them to http://www.imageshack.us/ it will give you direct URL to post in here. a great resource.

I added a new feature to the last Release. I forgot to explain it. Here we go:

It automatically refreshes the work folder path of the first page. So if your work folder is C:\Autoq2\Work\Project1 You can load all files (AVS\CHA\M2V) from there.

When You done it and go to C:\Autoq2\Work\Project2 the work folder is now C:\Autoq2\Work\Project1 for (AVS\CHA\M2V)

If You uncheck it the work folder will be C:\Autoq2\Work\Project1 also for the second project and you have to change in (AVS\CHA\M2V) always to C:\Autoq2\Work\Project2.

AutoQ2 will have soon a new feature. I and drob working on a feature which will make series prediction much easier. Drob called it 'Series IQ'. I like the name.

So if you have a series like 24 or X-Files and want to encode more than one episode for one DVD you use 'Series IQ' to get the prediction faster done.

Also a feature will be implented which closes rare CCE error windows, so the batchmode can go on. It will take a while till I code the stuff, so the next release will be in the end of the month. This time I'll release a fully tested release of AutoQ2. So stay tuned.

If somebody find a bug in the actual release please post me. thx.

What fps has your mp4 source? If it is 25 or 24 it is normaly progressive. Most of mp4 get progressive encoded to save space ...

Your final encode has reached the 94.59% state. The good thing is, it wasn't oversized. It depends on the kind of movie You did and the programs you use for compiling.

I used muxman. What DVD Author did You use.

The 100% was only one time. Drob and I can tell you stories about AutoQ(2).

The goal of AutoQ2 is to reach almost the wanted target. If you reach it 100% then you can smile. Your result is also good.

The next big release will have a function to compile the DVD with muxman and read out the size/bitrate of AC3, MPA and DTS using ATL.

... may be we will push AutoQ to a (almost) "One"-Click-DVD-Backup-Tool :D

I noticed one thing though. The NTSC DVD I have is Progressive/Alternate and not Interlaced but when I select 'alternate' your program automatically selects Interlaced. Can you correct this?
My ac3 size is 312. Is that what I put in the audio size section?

@Holomatrix: You realy confused me for one second :D. I rebuilded my old B2 release. There is no need for PFF/ALT. PFF/ZZ will give you a better result.

DVD supports WAV, MPA, AC3, DTS and MP2
SVCD supports MPA and MP2

The audio size will added automatically ...

As always CCE manual knows best, according to it, Progressive goes with zigzag and Alternate with interlaced, here is the quote:

This setting works on MPEG-2 output. Generally, Alternate scan is
used for the interlaced source, Zigzag is for the progressive source. If
you select Auto, block scan order is automatically selected depending
on Progressive frame setting (page 78 5.3.11 Progressive frame).
When Progressive frame is specified, zigzag scan will be applied on the
frame. When Progressive frame is not specified, alternate scan will be
applied.
If MPEG-1 is selected, Zigzag scan is always performed since
MPEG-1 does not support alternate scan.

As for AC3 stream, Generally it is best to keep the original AC3 stream, it will always be of much higher quality then you can encode by yourself, as it is studio grade encoding, only convert it if you edit the video, or for some reason cannot play AC3 streams.
