How Automatic max. QVal-Function works:

As You can see me second post here I posted a log. The Start QVal was 25. The end was 16.

So now I started with 5. Max QVal will be then 15. You final QVal is 16. So AutoQ2 overrides the Max QVal and will set it higher. So also here is the final QVal in the end 16.

If You want to force the Max Q-Val mark the Checkbox right of the Editbox of max QVAL.

:helpful: Man, with AMQ-Function I started a loop in the version 0.5.1. I did another movie. This time the sample should be 79 MB. AutoQ2 encoded with 80 MB. Result > it changes the max Q-Val and started again. Result of this > Loop. It founds the right Q-Val after 35 Prediction-Runs.

So I add a switch in 0.5.2 to run the AMQ-Function only once. So it found it in 6 Prediction runs.

Test: AutoQ2 v0.5.2. AVS with 23.976 to compress in CCE (23.976)

1. Earlier versions of AutoQ i can ser 23.976 to encode then i pressed 'Calculate Sample'
but gives me an error, then i change Framerate only to Calculate Sample (ej: 25), then
i returned to 23976, then 'Run Prediction'.
Now: I don't need to change framerate but the button 'Run Prediction' doesn't show available

2. Problems with help. Menu: Help > Shows Help. The 1st is OK,
but the next ones, shows a page with none (white). I i restart AutoQ, works ok only the 1st time.

3. I use CCE SP Trial 2.70.02.00, and when i select the specific option, doesn't show cctsp.exe,
then i have to select *.* to show and select the file.
To me is not clear what version choose, 'Path to CCE 2.70 Trial' or 'Path to CCE 2.70 SP'

4. If there an obligatory options for NTSC or PAL, Like GOP, or BSO, Framerate, should be most
clear to have an NTSC / PAL selector. Or am i wrong?

5. Accidentaly i test some anti-trojan software,
I'm confused, am i paranoid?
i installed Trojan Hunter (because is recommended), and did find:

I tried TheCleaner, i don't find nothing

I can confirm help bug,
using updated Kaspersky no virus detected,
using just PAL or NTSC can be a problem, NTSC can be 23 or 29 frames, you may need irregular double frames like 30 or rounded for DV like 24, using just PAL or NTSC is very limiting.

First of all. I don't add any trojan on it. Why should I? If You have CCE 2.70.02.00 Trial You have to setup AutoQ2 so:

Use the button in the 'Path to CCE 2.70 Trial:'-Box. I added a filter for cctspt.exe. If you see anything switch to *.* and search for the exe. Mark Encodefix and click on save.

PAL: 25 FPS 12 GOP ZZ
NTSC: 23,24,29,30 FPS 15 ZZ,ALT

The 'Run Prediction'-Button-Bug I can't reproduce.

As You told You use 23.97 FPS and I gues SVCD-Mode.
If You start AutoQ2 the first time in edits of the box 'm2v+vaf' You'll find 'Save M2V to ...' and 'Save VAF to ...' If You then click on '...' and enter a m2v nothing will happen.
If You double-click on the AVISynthScript You can search for a AVSScript.
The onlyway it can be that 'Calculate' will be still disabled is that You post the Content of the AVS into the MEMO. You must double-click, cos AutoQ2 needs the frames of the AVS to calculate the DiscCount for the SVCD-Mode. The Bug with the 23.97 FPS is fixed now.

About the help. It is a black HTML. I have no problem with reading it. The font is in white. You can also open the help.html in the support folder of AutoQ2. If there is a problem for reading it I'll change it into white backround. It is still old version of AutoQ and needs be updated. It is only one page. I think I have to write a real guide and some samples like stepbystep.

With AutoQ2 053 i can see 'Run prediction' !
i'm feeling sorry because it was so easy to fix, i missed to
set name for m2v+vaf, nothing more :P

Note1: I don't want to make a SVCD, i want a DVD but my source
have 23.976 fps, and i want to compress that way, then pulldown
flags to 29.97 (because if i set CCE with 29.97, displays wrong
total time), and for me DVD-LABpro makes the pulldown for me :)

Note2: about the help, i can read the html, but always is better
to have the help at hand ;) . Good news to have a better help for
newbies like me :P

My Last Test: AutoQ2 05,052,053 no problems!
The strange thing is every time i run TrojanHunter the exe inside
AutoQ159.exe and CCEfrontRC2.zip has different name, but the
trojan is the same.

I'm worry about my pc, another day i'm gonna
run an antivirus from a clean cd. Since 3 months i've been using Kaspersky

Here are the two simple rules:
* for interlaced go with alt
* for progressive zz
* also for mpeg1 always choose zz.

Now for the GOP, took me a while but Finaly got it.
The rule of thumb is that the GOP sequence needs to be half the frame rate.
So if your using 23.976 or pal as you do GOP is 3/4 if your using 29.976 it should be 3/5.
This is confirmed by the manual:

Generally, M=3, N/M=5 is used for NTSC DVD, M=3, N/M=4 for PAL DVD.

Interlaced (by Drob):

As for UFF if your using version 2.70,
always have it checked unless your using interlaced AND source is BFF.
If your using BFF and want UFF check UFF and use OSL (offset line 1).

EasySettings will help beginners to get easier into CCE. AutoQ2 will set the most settings automatically now. Thanx to drob for helping me with this feature. Some have a resolution of 800x600. So I redesigned AutoQ2 a little bit to fit for that resolution. Now I must think how I'll do it if I add batchmode.

There are two options:

* scrolling
* extra menu

What do You think?

It gives me an floating point decimal error when clicking in batch list fields.

To the 16:9 SVCD Encode: It was a 4:3 Source with borders. So it is original 16:9. I only cutted the borders and changed the ASR to 16:9. Normaly If You have 16:9 You can encode it in 16:9, so You will have always the right AS on all TVs.

Error in the Preview version: Discribe it exactly. What did You do. I tested the version and didn't get any error.

None that i can see without see it working, i think there is a memory leak, when testing AutoQ consumes 44mb of ram, when encoding it goes down to round 15mb.

So Beta 14 is out now. I finished the batchmode.
Now You can do a Prediction only, Prediction + Encode and Encode only.
Also You can skip one task. You only have to uncheck it in the batchlist.

Here a littel guide to do the 3 modes:

Prediction only:

Add Your AVS as usual.
Setup AutoQ2 with Your wanted settings.
Click on Prediction and setup the Prediction Settings.
Click on Calculate Sample.
After that click on Add to Batch.
Now You can click on Batch to see the new task with Prediction only.

Prediction + Encode:

Do all the same like in Prediction only.
Check Encode after Prediction.
Now click on Add to Batch.
In the batchlist is now a new task with Prediction + Encode.

Encode only:

Setup Autoq2 with Your wanted settings and click on Add to Batch
In the batchlist is now a new task with Encode only.

To get the others into the mode here the Quotes from drobs PM:

1. Files aren't renamed, so they are overwritten.
2. If you add files to batch, then exit AutoQ and reopen, they are saved, but you can click delete batch as much as you want, they seem to be cleared but they will stay there all the time after restart.
3. When you click delete task, and you have nothing highlighted there is an error, also i think highlighting any part of the line and not only movie name should be allowed.

Point 1: Yes, in B17 they will get renamed. I rename it during adding it to the Batchlist, but only in the batchfile (aqb).

Point 2: I can't redo the Error. It is all fine.

Point 3: Error is fixed.

Drob and I are testing now the newest Beta 22 of the 0.6.X Series. If all is ok the translating will start again. So if somebody will translate my app he can do it HERE (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=90465). I hope we can do the translations during the next week.

THx drob for pointing me to the bug. Now it is solved. You can check again save windowposition. I relay don't know why I loaded the paths of the m2v and vaf again ...
Did the shutdown works now? I added a testbutton to the debugmode. Press debug and You'll see a line called 'test shutdown'. It should shutdown the pc after clicking it ...
