ver of cce? So, should I select CCE SP instead of CCE 2.5?
Rockas
26th April 2006, 19:10
no...
CCE250=C:\Program Files\Custom Technology\Cinema Craft Encoder SP\cctsp.exe
this is wrong... the path should be pointing to eclcce.exe... did you used the Installer?

Thank you Rockas.
It is important that you select the correct executable if using CCE SP 2.5, any trial version of CCE, or Procoder. If you are using one of those encoders you have to setup EclCCE or EclPro and then select EclCCE.exe or EclPro.exe here.
Yes, I misread that. So instead of cctsp.exe, I should point to EclCCE.exe . That should do the trick. Gonna do this after it finishes encoding with QuEnc. if the result is only mediocre, I am going to do it again with CCE.
Very hard to encode and still have good results, this King Kong. 3h with a bitrate of about 2700 kbps... Did an encode with Recode (kept the menus) and the result was a mess. Blocks all over the high motion places and the slow motion scenes looked too soft. I hope RB does a better job.

As I said... I made that movie last week... I used CCE and 3 passes... of course the results aren't 100% perfect but it came out good.

not an issue, but a request.
in the next version, can you make it so, if you remove dolby digital, and keep DTS, that during playback, it will default to the DTS soundtrack.
i just did gladiator, removed DD and kept DTS, but when i play the movie, i have to hit the audio button to switch to DTS, or if i have the menu, select DTS before playing.
or is there a way i can even do this with any version?

I think that the main goal of DVD Rebuilder is not modifying original navigation but keeping it as intact as possible.
On top of all that in this special case if you leave only DTS track(s) on your backup it will be not compliant to the DVD-Video specification as there has to be at least one of these: Dolby Digital (Ac3), PCM or MPEG(-1). It is because DTS decoding is not a must with every player or amplifier but the others are. Despite this if you have a DTS decoder implemented in your system usually there is no problem playing back a DTS only movie (and a DTS Audio CD as well).
When you are left with a DTS and one or more DD audio streams, you can modify the disc menu navigation with PgcEdit or DvdReMake Pro to set the audio stream to start with as you like. However to do this you need to know DVD navigation and Virtual Command Set a bit because audio and subpicture selection can be done several ways on a DVD-Video disc.

Not with free but pro: Options => Advanced expert options => audio track remapping.
Where your DD stream has been change it to DTS.

It will not work with menus or predefined audio selection (SetSTN in movie PGC) just mix up audio part of the menu.

rahzel asked for a way how to play DTS directly without switching to the audio menu.

all i care about, is when i play the movie, it will play DTS without switching to it. will this do that?
does this just make DTS the 1st (and default) soundtrack, without changing the menu? ie, if you go to the menu and select DD, it will actually be selecting DTS? and if you play the movie, it will play DTS as default?

If you use audio track remapping -- yes you can set it to the default. Just swap it with the one that is default now. This is exactly the purpose of remapping -- many people use it to set the default to their native language.

After using the RB free ver, open the DVD in PGCedit -> dbl click the main title, click the first audio streams, disable the audio streams before DTS (mostly its AC3 only). Close and open PGCedit again, to correct the pointers.

DVD RB does not seem to be compatible with CCE SP 2.70.02.10
It generates invalid .ecl files.
The error is caused by the first line:
; Cinema Craft Encoder SP -- Encoder Control List
Should be changed in:
; Cinema Craft Enc. SP -- Encoder Control List

Try putting:
CCE_Trial_Header="; Cinema Craft Enc. SP -- Encoder Control List"
in the [Options] section of Rebuilder.ini and selecting CCE SP Trial for the CCE version. This may work as a temporary solution.

I switched to a CCE version 1 revision lower, that does the trick also. Will try that solution though later on.

Hrmm, when I opened the rebuilder.ini in DVD RB Pro's dir, I didn't see that line
CCE_Trial_Header=
So I added it... testing now... hope it works. I just found this in an old archive of mine and have never used it before. If it works as well as it's acclaimed, then I'll shell out paypal style. :thanks:
NOPE still get the same stupid error message.... trying "change to CCE Trial" method, see if that works. <---- NOPE :-p Rats!

Not sure that CCE accepts PayPal and your other post here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=124296) shows you are using a very old version of DVDRB Pro (1.12.0). Have you not shelled out, (Paypal or any other style), already for DVDRB?

I think his problem is that he is using a cracked version of CCE, as jdobbs mentioned in the thread you linked to.

The ting is - and the thing is every time - we'll never know for sure if it's a cracked CCE or DVD-RB. Though often it seems pretty obvious.
Anyway, it amazes me that people post questions so obviously indicating that they're using cracked software. It seems so silly to steal somebody's software, and then come running to the author complaining or asking questions about it...
I'm not saying that v12v12 is necessarily one of those people; I'm just making a general obseervation.

NOPE still get the same stupid error message.... trying "change to CCE Trial" method, see if that works. <---- NOPE :-p Rats! Also make sure the version you have selected "CCE SP Trial" under the SETTINGS/CCE SETTINGS menu. Although it may not be obvious due to the hacking -- the version you have is the trial.
That line wouldn't have been in the INI. It's one of the "hidden" settings (see the FAQ). It is very definitely the solution for the problem you are having... but the text of the setting has to match that expected by CCE. Save an ECL from CCE and look at the first line of the file with a text editor. That is the line you want following "CCE_TRIAL_HEADER=" in the INI file. Also make sure you added it in the "[Options]" area, not just to the end of the file.

...and a "cracked" DVDRB...? The terrible thing is that most of the cracked versions have problems caused by poor (seemingly random) patching. The lack of sound is a common one, and so is REBUILD errors and "skipping" during playback. My biggest fear with those things is that they may give DVD-RB a bad rap. Nobody ever suspects poor-hacking when they have problems with pirated software (go figure) -- but I sure get my share of reports caused by them.

Why not add a message on your website, somewhere in the installation or even the first time the program opens up?
Something along the lines of "using a cracked version may cause some problems. Instead use the free version or donate for the PRO".

I think maybe jdobbs dont want to do that cause people will start looking for cracked versions. But yeah. I hope that people that use those versions realize that dvdrb is better than that.
Please support dvd-rb. The software is great and is in a constant state of fluctuation. I mean you get updates and support. And your heart glows in a strange tone of green. Yeah it feels good to support an excellent product.

Do a search (actually in this thread). That is an indicator that you are probably using a hacked version of the software. Amazing as it is, the guy who keeps patching it continues to hack it incorrectly and causes this same error over and over. Just so you know -- he also screws up areas that affect the REBUILD... and (if you are using the cracked version) don't be surprised when you experience playback problems.
The only other report I've ever gotten related to missing audio is in those circumstances where someone mistakenly checks all the audio streams on the setup dialog -- which means "remove all audio".
