OK, styled subtitles works. I found that ffdshow by default load external str sub and doesnt allow change stream to internal one. When i remove srt file, ffdshow load internal sub, but font is so big...
When i use ffdshow for DXVA and subs, in icon tray i see as no_named subtitle stream "A: ". Weird, It shouldt be "S: "? Bug of splitter or ffdshow?
Concerning forced flag. It can be set for any stream. Is it possible to play simultaneously two subs, or maybe two audio files?

Hi,
According to me the rules with default and forced subs flag should be:
1- If at least one track has default flag set then select this track (Highest priority and should override forced flag)
2- If forced flag is set then the splitter should automatically select the subs track with the same language as the current audio track (selected audio track), example if audio track is in French by default then select the forced French subs stream if exists (Else select "No subs"), if English audio stream get selected then automatically switch to the forced English subs stream if exists(Else select "No subs"), and so on.

That's exactly how I thought it should work too. Then, streams flagged "forced" would always load, and if no "forced" streams are found, then no subs are loaded. Also, the user always would have the option to override the flags, and select any stream.

I could go with that model.

This from matroska spec:
Flag Default - Set if that track (audio, video or subs) SHOULD be used if no language found matches the user preference.
Flag Forced - Set if that track MUST be used during playback. There can be many forced track for a kind (audio, video or subs), the player should select the one which language matches the user preference or the default + forced track. Overlay MAY happen between a forced and non-forced track of the same kind.
Flags Are applied to tracks, not for separate samples.

If you use mpc-hc menu Play->Filters->SMM MKV Splitter should show right tracks. Can't say anything about ffdshow.

SMM splitter displays stream name which was set while muxing mkv file. If it was empty - nothing displayed. So there needs to add language of the track additionally to stream title. This will be done in next release.
Language will certainly greatly improve it. What i would really love however would be to simply dump a quick format recap in there, like the MPC-HC internal MPEG splitter does.
Just show what codec, for video what resolution, for audio how many channels and possibly bitrate.
I have yet to encounter a file that actually had a track name set in the mkv.
Additionally, all subtitles did show "No Subtitles". For subs the language would be enough, i guess. Showing there if a subs track is "forced" would be good, i guess.
Short of the shortcomings in the dropdowns, it seems to work beautifully now. The "lag" during startup i reported before seems to be gone, good job guys. :)
Now if we just had a proper MPEG-TS splitter to go with this. Anyone have the full (and latest) MPEG-TS spec and wants to share, so i can work on it? :D

I didn't see this thread before. At the moment, this is the only application I found that let me mux TS files with mixed fields/MBAFF video. Mkvtoonix doesn't have support for TS files and it can't handle this kind of video properly, when it's demuxed to an elementary stream.
Thank you Dmitry. Saludos

If you use mpc-hc menu Play->Filters->SMM MKV Splitter should show right tracks. Can't say anything about ffdshow.
This is also causing issues with Media Control inside Media Center. The Audio tracks are listed as subtitles and there are no subtitle tracks listed (although it plays the default one). The video track is also identified as an audio track at least in media control. All that being said....
WOW
I have been struggling getting adequate performance from my blu-ray rips with HD Audio bitstream. Your splitter is hands done the best of the bunch. Files that would stutter in MPC-HC's standalone filter or Haali play smooth as silk with yours. If it played nicer with Media Control to allow for audio and subtitle switching, it would be nirvana. I honestly can't believe there is not more discussion about your splitter. I am very pleased to have found it.

Or it must have been 1.0.1008.13?
If so why it's absent here?
Dunno what version i gonna test

SamuriHL

It can properly pass DTS-HD MA tracks from an MKV to ffdshow that aren't corrupted? :) Haali has a nasty bug that breaks bitstreaming with MKV/DTS-HD MA tracks that are made with anything other than MakeMKV. SolveigMM does not have this problem.

2/ Could you add these audio formats please ?

Guys i can't find a current source filter for muxing with Solveig.
New versions of Gabest splitter:
Either can not link the audio pin to muxer,
Or put MS DTV-DVD Audio decoder between source and muxer (for PCM), or put ffdshow audio decoder (for THD).
DTSHD-MA can be linked directly btw.
Dear developers, what do you suggest?
EDIT: Sorry, that's not the source filter issue; there must have been a problem on my PC: fixed.
The only issue left that i haven't been able to fixed is
to connect the subtitle:

I've tried this new build but I can't select streams from ffdshow because video track are listed in audio section and audio tracks are listed in sub section !!!
Other issues are:
1- "No Subtitles" still not selected by default if none of other sub streams have default/forced flag set
2- PGS sub doesn't work, only tested with mks embbeded PGS sub

MLP is the format that TrueHD uses, well, or based on, anyway. TrueHD is an "enhanced" MLP. I don't know of any subtype for MLP itself, so maybe going with the TrueHD subtype is the best choice there.

about mkvtoolnix i've found only in src code:
strlen(MKV_A_AC3)) || (t->codec_id == MKV_A_EAC3))
t->a_formattag = 0x2000;
and seems it has the same format tag. But which guids of subtypes it needs i didn't find.
If you provide the proof link which subtype needs when A_AC3 is used and when A_EAC3 it will be good. For now it remains as is.

Stanislav Mikhailenko

Can someone explain (or show me where to find the information) how to create an mkv with SMM Muxer?
1. You need to get Graph Studio or GraphEdit.
2. Register SolveigMM Muxer running "register.bat" in SMM_Matroska.zip (http://www.solveigmm.com/files/utils/SMM_Matroska.zip) (unpack it and don't delete and move unpacked files while use).
3. In Graph Studio Render File which you would like to convert to MKV
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/render_menu.jpg
You will get something like this.
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/render_file.jpg
4. Delete all Decoders and Render Filters to leave only splitter stuff.
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/delete_decoders_and_render_filters.jpg
5. Add to Graph SolveigMM MKV Muxer
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/add_filters.jpg
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/add_mkv_muxer.jpg
6. Add File Writer and Select output
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/add_file_writer.jpg
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/select_output.jpg
7. Connect Filters as shown below and Run Graph
http://solveigmm.com/img/mkv_muxer/construct_graph_run.jpg
There will be more simple way soon - a sample application with SolveigMM Muxer Stuff. i will post in this thread when it will be ready.

format_type: GUID_NULL
But the cge provided pgs mkv sample (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1450221#post1450221) with another one throw haali splitter:
subtype : GUID_NULL

For now don't know what to do with this.
Could anyone provide refs for pgs and it's meditypes?
