Remuxing without the subtitles, fonts and chapters made no difference. It still will not play. I really belive it's a problem with large VC1 files and your splitter myself. x264 MKV's play fine.

When I open the MKV Since your attachment is suspicious, where did you get the MKV file and why are you obfuscating the filename?

Because I do not wish to violate the forum rules. I ripped it from a copyrighted Blu-ray and muxed it myself. Big clue. It contains a lot of blue aliens ;)

Why did you obfuscate the file name?
Yes, we use Elecard splitter for m2ts in splitter-editor. If you provide this m2ts sample we can redirect it to elecard support team (or you can post on elecard forum (http://www.elecard.com/forum/index.php?board=67.0) yourself).
Mkv splitter demux only mkv (no m2ts).
If you got it work with Gabest which output guid it provides for audio(why it needs audio decoder)? Anyway it will be more fast resolving if you post a sample of m2ts.
By pleasure; i'd prefer to upload here:

DTSHD.m2ts:

BTW i get always blue-light with this chain:

Why did you obfuscate the file name?
Just being cautious. It's the name of a Hollywood movie.

I have had another warning for some reason and I suspect it's due to participating in this thread. I will no longer bother helping you with bug testing your app because of this. Goodbye.

Regarding your deleted post in the General Discussion forum: The procedure for contesting strikes is documented here:
http://forum.doom9.org/sanctions.htm
At this point you can contest only your rule 17 strike and not the initial rule 6 strike, because you complained about it in the public forum.
I note your extensive history of rule 4, 6, 8, and 11 strikes.

Thanks, they work. What i'm not sure if thd_out.mkv includes thd+ac3 core since i can not get deep information from the remuxed file. (i used Gabest mpeg source in muxing.)

Now i'm sure and i may introduce the first mkv muxer which is able to mux thd+ac3 mkvs: Solveig Muxer :)
Here is my test method:
I unchecked Dolby True HD (and DTSHD as well) in ffdshow properties page.
And i get DD light on my AVR while i can switch to THD blue light easily when i select it back.

Does this splitter support subtitles, and specifically track selection for audio/subs (or is this not a function of the splitter)?

Does this splitter support subtitles, and specifically track selection for audio/subs (or is this not a function of the splitter)?
Yes it supports subtitles, but there is no track selection yet. It's intended for development purposes e.g. using with graphedit or graphstudio where you can render track which you need. May be in future this feature will be implemented as for Haali splitter using trayicon.
BUT for some players as for "Media Player Classic - Home Cinema" you can switch subtitles tracks using "Play->Subtitles" and "Play->Filters->ffdshow Audio Decoder" for audio (if you use ffdshow for audio tracks).

...does this mean mkv chapter browsing is now support by the splitter?
Also, regarding the muxer, will it create mkv chapters, say from a text file containing chapter info? Also, are there any plans to allow the selection of subtitles as default and forced (always on), like in mkvmerge?
Thanks... and keep up the great work!

Just been playing with the muxer... i see in the muxer settings, there's an option for tracks. Guessing this is chapters?
There's an offset and duration setting... can you explain these functions?
Many thanks

...does this mean mkv chapter browsing is now support by the splitter?
Yes, but this function is pretty simple there is list of chapters names and begin/end times.
Also, regarding the muxer, will it create mkv chapters, say from a text file containing chapter info?
May be in future... but as for muxer i think there is no reason to prepare chapters before file was muxed.
There should be program that allows to add and edit chapters entries on existing mkv.
If you think another way, could you provide some situations where this function is needed in muxer?
Also, are there any plans to allow the selection of subtitles as default and forced (always on), like in mkvmerge?
Did you mean ability to select in muxer default tracks?
I think it's usefull feature. Thanks for point it on.
But to use this feature it needs implementation in splitter of IAMStreamSelect iface also.

These options for offset specific track to fix tracks out of sync when remux.
But this feature is not implemented yet.

There are heads and data. In libmatroska element with default data aren't written by default according to sample but thereare heads of the elements. This was done for backward compatibility. Mandatory element means element should be and it is. But it's data can be missed if it has default value.
But YOU was right. The elements in head should be written anyway even if they have default values. Just redownload muxer (http://www.solveigmm.com/files/utils/SMM_MKVMuxer.zip)and will see in text editor word "matroska".

A 64-bit version is useful for Windows media Center and Explorer (for thumbnailing). The 32-bit version of WMP is used by default on Windows x64.

Precisely.
Going around in circles trying to get DTS MA & DTS MA (core only) working properly in WMC 7 (64-bit) without constant audio drop-outs etc. No definitive answers at the moment. However, most folk seem to think ffdshow is the problem. Would still be good to try an alternative to either Gabtest or Haali though.

I tried using the filter in MPC-HC yesterday, but i couldn't get it to work at all. I registered it, and disabled all other MKV demuxers. When MPC-HC tried to open a MKV file, it just froze, and windows terminated it shortly after due to not responding at all anymore.
Is there something i can do to debug this further? Is it supposed to work in MPC-HC yet? ;)
Hi,
Are you going to implement a way to handle:
1- Set the prefered language or at least respect the "default" track flag if it's set to "Yes". This is for audio and subtitles tracks
2- Respect the "subtitles forced flag", this means automatically select the subtitles tracks with the forced flag set AND subtitles language == selected audio track language
Best regards
Christophe

Hi,
This is a sample for edition that works with haali splitter :
Sample-edition.mkv (http://sebinternet.free.fr/Sample-edition.mkv)
We have 2 editions in it (edition 1 : 2min and edition 2 : 10min)
This is the sample with PGS sub :

The same behavior occurs on all your files or on specific one?
smm mkv splitter Filter is implemented not as source, so there can be that other filters(may be not mkv demuxers only) can try to open this file. If this occurs on all your files you can try to find which by unregistering demuxers one by one. Or if it is on specific file, i'll need that file to diagnose the problem in smm mkv splitter. Anyway if it's problem of smm mkv splitter it will occure on other files soon and will be fixed.

That is probably because the splitter can't do that. It is the subtitle renderer that must support forced subs. Afaik, forced subtitles aren't in a separate track, but a subtitle track can contain both forced and non-forced subs.
Hi,
I'm talking about the "forced" flag which can be set with mkvmerge, it's a flag for a track. I'm not talking about the specific forced sub within a track...
