As long as it is on topic you don't need my permission. :)

I hope this is really a rip from a DVD you own and not some piece of corrupted garbage you downloaded somewhere. What is the title and region of the DVD?

DVD with VC1 and inside of .ts ? i would say rather Blu-Ray was the Source or maybe a transcode from something into VC1 and .ts maybe to play it back on the Xbox 360 or Ps3, the sporadic artifacts in the DGVC1Dec output could be transfer errors i guess (or failed decryption).

What is the title and region of the DVD that you took MC.ts from?

Mariah Carey; The Advantures Of Mimi. Region 1.
BTW i've been uploading a raw vc1 cut directly by eac3to (160MB); i'll add it here when finished.(roughly half an hour is left)

How did you cut that sample which software did you used ?
i mean how came MC.ts into existence as 56 mb sample, as it seems (the creator) didn't cut @ a i frame :)

Original vc1 was extracted by eac3to and recut and remuxed to ts by TSMuxer.
Edit: btw i gave it a go with the original vc1; nothing has changed.
You will get a new eac3to cut as soon as possible.

@rica

Give me a fragment of the unprocessed source (m2ts). I will demux it myself. Thank you.

CruNcher
2nd December 2008, 00:20
and the sample from the final .ts you also made with TSMuxer ?

OK, but what method do you suggest to cut this m2ts?
1) Cut and remux directly to m2ts by tsmuxer or tsremux.
2) Demux with eac3to and cut/remux to m2ts by tsmuxer.
3) Or?

rica
2nd December 2008, 00:26

Yes. It was tsmuxer.

CruNcher
2nd December 2008, 00:43
try todo as less as possible with as few as possible different developer tools, also try to maintain the .m2ts and not remux into .ts :)
1) seems better 2 are to much steps something could go wrong (and neuron is not here to debug your production chain) :) not sure which of both takes the bitstream into account while cutting (tsremux, tsmuxer) i guess both don't and cut straight @ the point user requests it (initially that isn't bad as a good splitter->decoder combination should jump to the next i-frame). DGVC1Dec does it as you see but other combination's don't like this created .ts much and crash while trying to decode everything :)

@rica

Cut the source m2ts directly. One option is DGSplit.

Or you can load the source m2ts in DGVC1IndexNV, set a range, do Save project and demux video. Then upload the demuxed vc1.

I prefer the first option.

I'd still like the sample, but Nvidia thinks they probably have a bug in the calculation of deblocking filter coefficients and hope to give me a fix very soon.

This is a cut with TSMuxer:

Cut with DGSplit is coming soon which is made on the fly...

AppName: mplayerc.exe AppVer: 1.1.906.0 ModName: wmvdecod.dll
ModVer: 11.0.5721.5145 Offset: 000361ad

also this one crashes immediately (i slowly wonder if it is a Haali Splitter bug) why should Microsoft not support their own stream ? :(

This is a cut with TSMuxer Um, I didn't ask for that.

rica

Give it a go with MPC-HC. Default decoder is WMVideo decoder DMO and renderer is EVR Custom.

Sorry Neuron and yeah the stream renders fine with Arcsoft's Decoder which is running on the GPU (DXVA), while DGVC1DecNV shows the white fog on most frames :)

MC.ts is 100% interlaced 30i also gets correctly detected by most Demuxer/Decoder all Nvidia (DXVA based Decoder) Deinterlaced it to 60p most Software 30p :) (interlaced lines are clearly visible every frame couldn't see a 3:2 pull down pattern but maybe it was modified and the pattern got lost)

CD.ts is 100% Progressive though the wrong flagging forces most Decoder to De-interlace it if set on Auto modes (saves some bits but hurts the output) :( (couldn't see any interlaced lines though this section is really dark maybe i missed them motion seems enough to see them if it was)

You are right on CD.ts is progressive even mediainfo and other tools perceive it as interlaced.
Here are the specs of both BDs:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/1177/celinedion_newday.html

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/420/mariahcarey_adventuresofmimi.html

Both seems as progressive but MC seems 1080p/TBA.

What is TBA; i haven't found any info on this abbreviation?

Doom9

TBA = To Be Announced

rica

Thanks but it smells "not really" or "so called"?

rica
3rd December 2008, 01:50
:confused:Let me say those two clips are really an investigation subject for developers...
Celine Dion is progressive but seems interlaced; btw i've never seen any 29.97 p BD...
Mariah Carey clip is much more complicated; is it interlaced or pulldown progressive????
MC clip does not work with Haali > WMVideo decoder DMO chain while CD clip works with the same one.

I have both DGAVCindex (v1.0.7) and DGAVCindexNV (v1.0.8) installed. The corresponding decoders are in the Avisynth Plugins directory, .dll versions do match with the .exe versions.

Now when I produce an index .dga file with DGAVCIndex.exe and an .avs script like AVCSource("myfilexxx.dga") I get on playback the error: AVCSource: CUVID Server not running!
So I start the CUVID server. Now I get the error: DGAVCIndexNV/DGAVCDecodeNV mismatch! (as mentioned before, the dga has been produced by DGAVCIndex.exe).

I am trapped. Can't I have both DGAVCIndex and DGAVCIndexNV installed simultaneously?

Yes you can. Just make sure that you load the correct plugin in the avs script.

LoadPlugin("...\DGAVCDecode.dll")
AVCSource("mystream.dga")

LoadPlugin("...\DGAVCDecodeNV.dll")
AVCSource("mystream.dga")

LoadPlugin("...\DGVC1DecodeNV.dll")
AVCSource("mystream.dgv")

BTW, this is the DGVC1DecNV discussion thread.

Thanks! That's it.
The problem remains that the application which produces the script does not insert the LoadPlugin. Anyway, I will find a workaround. Thanks again.

If you haven't read the QuickStart yet, it explains a way to create a template.avs file that will automatically generate the avs script with you save the project. That might be useful to you.

Big O (it's a joke, get it?) at Nvidia has cured our problem. Please get the revised nvcuvid.dll from inside the 1.0.0 download. Mariah now plays flawlessly.

they really fast also working this open is great :) that's gonna improve a lot of other Software in their Ecosystem from other ISVs too and very fast (ATI has no chance with this kind of community support as Doom9 behind Nvidia debuging) :)

@neuron2
Disable display doesn't work when the Double Rate De-interlacer is enabled so no speed measurement works via Preview is it possible to change that ?

8800 GT (G92) Forceware 180.70 (XP SP3)

MC.ts

NO Deinterlace = 46 FPS
Single Rate = 35 FPS
Double Rate = ?? FPS

The same file in re-encoding to h264 at MeGui:

If you hit OK, does it proceed OK or does this bring things to a fatal halt in MEGUI?

I can fix it but I'm currently working on porting the audio sync fixes from DGAVCDec. If it stops everything, then I'll boost the priority.

rica
7th December 2008, 01:21
When i hit OK, no fatal halt seems but no progress at all; process stays at where it was...
You have to abort MeGui...

hi neuron2,

i think i just caught a bug when processing 300 the movie. it seems repeatable here when processing this clip:

http://tinyurl.com/5z5znz

heres a screen of the blocks i see when previewing it:

http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/4261/blocksxw2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

i dont see these blocks when i run the same raw clip in powerdvd. the clip looks fine.

edit: also now muxed the complete vc1 into a mkv and ran through mpc-hc using 3 different vc1 ffdshow wmv9 / dmo / libavcodec filters and they all play that section without issues.

Confirmed.
And plus the same error pop-up window exists at the end of the clip:

Sample of a vc-1 source here which is partially blocky when indexing it and playing it back in mpc using VC1Source().

Big O was watching this thread and when I got back from dinner, there was a mail from him with the fix for the blocking. Get the updated nvcuvid.dll from the 1.0.0 distribution.

I'm looking into the 700 decode error problem.

Sharc
8th December 2008, 18:04
Thanks! That was fast. Blocking is gone!

rica
8th December 2008, 22:43
After the latest update even "700 decode problem" is not left while playing with DGVC1indexNV. (BTW, original vc1 cuts have been done by eac3to directly)

Re-encoding to h264 of interlaced or progressive clips is still problematic btw. (no problem in playing with the original vc1 on DGVC1IndexNV)
I can watch created h264mkv via GraphStudio;
the chain is:
Haali > ArcsoftVideo decoder > Video Renderer-or/ Video Mixing Renderer9 which means i still have to see the interlacing artifacts (if the original is interlaced) and no DXVA decoding; picture freezes at the beginning of the clip with EVR...

Hi guys,

@neuron2,

I get this error while trying to open avs on MeGui: (trying to deinterlace the MC video)

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2977/neuron15up3.th.png (http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=neuron15up3.png)

Here is the avs:
LoadPlugin("C:\users\rica\desktop\DGVC1\DGVC1DecodeNV.dll")
VC1Source("G:\MC\MC.dgv",deinterlace=true)

Am i doing something wrong or Purevideo gets it as progressive?

woah!
11th December 2008, 04:50
another repeatable bug i think:

pink square top left, in the posted clip i get a few of them in different frames aswell. only when viewing the avs script of the indexed clip.

if same clip is run using DS it isnt there, so am thinking its a indexing issue.

pink dot:

http://www.cif-forums.com/nucker/pink01.jpg

no pink dot:

edit : seems you can see this bug when just previewing too, so maybe its not the indexing as i thought...
