I read on Wikipedia that I have to put them in the Charmatrix directory, but that doesn't exist at all if you extract the SupRip archive,and when you create one, it does not help.
SupRip saves under C:\Users\yourloginname\AppData\Roaming\SupRip or similar.

SupRip saves under C:\Users\yourloginname\AppData\Roaming\SupRip or similar.

C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\SupRip

for those still (happily) using WinXP or 2k

I am having a problem when there is a subtitle on top and on bottom of the video at the same time. basically suprip either doesnt get anything for that line, throws a error that would make it crash if you auto ocred the file, or only picks up one of the 2 lines.

extend option suggested (avoid this with split tolerance but causes collateral effects )...
and...where the words database is stored?
and...mixed italic/normal line not recognised properly (like "I'm the user xmen3" the whole line is recognised as I'm the user xmen3)
thanks

ok i want to know if there is any more up to date sup ripper. granted this is the best i have seen so far BUT it fails to properly convert some of the newer BD sup files. like ones with subtitles on top and bottom at the same time. as stated above it crashes, gets one of them, or none of them. then there is the most recent with fading in and out of subtitles. With the latest version 1.16 released around June 11, 2009 this thing is about 3 years old and it shows. is there anyone planning on updating it or pickling up where he left off? cuz it is getting really annoying having to play the BD in PowerDVD or other player just to read the subs and start typing manually.

Have you tried Subtitle Edit?

lol it cant even open a .sup file without throwing an exception, crashing, or locking up.... at least SupRip did something...

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

In Options -> Global options uncheck "Use IDX's file offsets".

so can we get back on topic. the one about finding/making a better sup ripper for newer sup files that brake the current rippers?

Sure. Go to the Subtitle Edit thread and pursue your crashing problem there. Maybe you don't have the right .NET framework installed or something.

Is there any way to get SupRip to handle italics properly? Tried this program several times, but gave up because of italics getting mixed up.

I have SupRip 1.16, and it comes with a set of pre-made font files: "Arial.font.txt", "Calibri-Variant.font.txt", and several more. When I load a SUP, the program defaults to no font and the only option is to train it with each character. This works well. How do I select one of the bundled font files for recognition?

Need help for SupRip:

The following message appears when I start SupRip:

The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\SupRip\temp.font.txt' because it is being used by another process.

Void WinIOError(Int32, System.String)

at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.File.Delete(String path)
at SupRip.SubtitleFonts..ctor()
at SupRip.MainForm..ctor()
at SupRip.Program.Main(String[] args)

Don't know what it is.

Logoff Windows. Logon and start SupRip again. Problem still persists

Restart Windows and start SupRip again. Problem still persists.

Anybody can help?
I will lose 27MB of temp.font.txt - 2 years data

Anybody can share their temp.font.txt so that it's no need to rebuild from scratch?

Does Suprip have any option to automatically correct mistakes involving the letters "l" and "I"?

Did you check the "Draw lines on top" option on the left? Might help.
