lol. I hear you're a mathematics genius. How much would it cost to hire you to help my girlfriend out with her math assignments at university? ;) :p

Also, while it is great AnyDVD is the only one having this power (closed source = less harder for the companies to find close any holes or whatever) I still can't wait for it to make its wait to open source.

Once it goes open source, there is nothing stopping us!

To date I have never seen a software being such a great value as AnyDVD HD.

Buying this software sends a signal on what the consumer wants. Please buy this awesome software.

Wouldn't a be better to release a blu-ray update every 4~5 months? this way a lot more titles are out able to be ripped.

anydvd(hd)/coreavc/ioftpd(donation)/flashfxp, they earned my money by listening to the wishes of their customers.

In 10 years this is the only software I have really thought deserved my money. Just added slysoft to this exclusive list :)

I dont think sony will be too much upset.

BD+ has already served sonys purpose, it won them the format war.

Its the movie studios (mostly FOX) thats going to be really pissed off.

If it had have been cracked few months ago sony would definately be furious.

Are there any public details about the opcode set and virtual machine for the BD SVM? While I do applaud slysoft's efforts (which are very exciting, trust me), I'm still eager to be able to watch Blu-Ray movies on my Linux-based HTPC.

Being 100% Linux myself, I really don't think waht you asking for is fair.

Slysoft have spend A LOT of money to develop this crack, and they even give you -20% off AnyDVD HD if you buy it now. Moreover Slysoft is giving the BD+ removal feature for free to existing customers.

That's so large of Slysoft, as it would be perfect understandable if they wanted extra for that feature, just like any other company would do. Remember when you bought AnyDVD HD, that was not a feature.

If you want to use Linux, then buy and use AnyDVD HD on Windows, and transfer the files to Linux, or see if AnyDVD HD runs under Wine of Cedega.

Giving Slysoft the knife now by asking/trying to rip off their work, is just evil, and ruins any future hope of that Slysoft will continue to free us from DRM in the future!

Please appreciate what Slysoft have done, and don't ruin it for us that do.

the next time you see someone who has spent their time restoring an old car from a dump back into showroom shine, ask them why they are not out on the street giving ppl free rides in it everyday.

a totally missing the point analogy. let me give you a better one.

company A restores old cars and then sells them in city X.

a person from city Y asks "wow thats nice. any chance of someone doing such a thing in this city ?".

your response is that person is trying to knife company A. they are not. they are just asking of the chance of a similar service where they live.

now i can understand you want to promote the company you work for but such silly behaviour as you are displaying is doing nothing to help it. try just promoting the good points of your product and stop trying to have a go at people.

Slysoft did an amazing thing with a flew glitches here and there that will be rectified soon enough, I'm sure.

Somehow they've become ridiculous. For anyone who uses Linux I'd advise you to check out all the threads [on the Slysoft forum] concerning AnyDVD and Linux and why it won't happen. It's an old issue. As for Slysoft sharing their secrets... why?

Why can't people just be happy and positive when something as monumental like this happens. Why does stuff always have to become negative?

The thread relates to Slysoft's technical achievements in breaking BD+ so it's in the right place but has been dragged increasingly OT.

This is a truly momentous achievement and in the excitement of things it's natural for people to feel the urge to make throwaway remarks but if you want the fun to continue you'd be better starting a new thread on the lighter side of things in the general discussion area and continuing there. :cool:

This news made me want to upgrade my version of AnyDVD w/AnyDVD HD. However, I don't own a Blue Ray or HD player and my computer, which is 3 1/2 years old can't handle HD material. Anyway, I'm seriously considering the upgrade just for the future.

Also, it'd be interesting to see the impact of Slysoft's BD+ breakthrough on sales of BD discs. Making discs more user friendly is a sure way to increase sales. It's sad that the MPAA and Hollywood don't get this simple fact.

I updated to AnyDVD-HD myself too just for appreciation and because it's a company that sticks to it's promises, not cluttering it up with unneeded bells&whistles. I'm not going to overpay for any Blu-Ray hardware and media if the price isn't reasonable, but I took the decision now, because Slysoft offers such a good service, and (bad me) perhaps they could raise the price a bit once HD-contents become more mainstream and IF there would one day be Blu-Ray-R/RW media, allthough I don't expect this to happen in the next couple of years.

30 euro just to show your appreciation for an option (not forgetting they promissed BD+ almost 3 months ago). A lot of opensource projects would kill for such donations. Amazing!

They do great work and I wish them all the best, but they're a commercial company, not saints. Sometimes I get the feeling people are forgetting this.

Back on topic. I've seen multiple reports on BD+ and video corruption. Looking at captures this reminds me of the begining days of AACS decryption. As if some types of packages in the stream aren't taken into account properly. Any thoughts on this?

You're right, but 1st, make sure the media is 100% free of any physical error(s) (leading to a possible read error), if all is fine, then is a bug on decrypting process (Slysoft?).

There were no read errors since the old version of PDVD plays the BD+ ISO fine (this ISO was then used for the BD+ stripping),

hopefully now with the ability to make 100% back ups this will kick start the blank media manufaturers to get off there arses and get more media out there to slowly drive prices down. ATM its pointless backing up to blank media when hard disc space is way cheaper per gb

edit - how long before a firmware upgrade to standalones kills all playback of none aacs encrypted discs though?
