Hi, would it be possible to change gk so it can run several instances at the same time? I got a quadcore and one xvid encode doesnt use more than 30% CPU power so i could easily run 3 encodes at the same time if i could run gk 3 times.

Could adding avidemux in the package be usefull ?

gizmo27
27th October 2007, 11:00
Is there any freeware which is usefull to cut vob, I mean to extract one part without re-encoding ?
something with enought precision which permits you to jump at one frame or a time, something like virtualdub/vdubmod ?

buzzqw
27th October 2007, 12:56
avidemux could be used by command line to cut/encode...

I'd like to update Besweet. But there's a problem : in the most recent besweet there's not "azidts.exe" : is it very useful for a besweet good working ? where can I find an azidts.exe updated version ?

buzzqw
3rd November 2007, 11:45
what about replacing besweet with wavi + soundout + nicaudio/bassaudio ?

less application and no need of .Net

It seems to be a good idea but in a first time I'd like to update besweet.
Is "azidts.exe" necessary ?

buzzqw
4th November 2007, 13:42
afaik only to process dts audio

you can look to autogk folder.. for dtsdec.exe

BHH

gizmo27
10th November 2007, 01:04
I'm not sure to understand : dtsdec.exe=azidts.exe ? That's it ?

dtsdec will produce wav file

gizmo27
10th November 2007, 17:33
is usefull to put it with besweet + besweetGUI ?
you can produce a wav file with besweetgui too, no ?

waiting an answer, this is test_GordianKnot.RipPack.0.35.0.Setup.3b2.exe (http://gordianknot.free.fr/gordian_knot_tests/test_GordianKnot.RipPack.0.35.0.Setup.3b2.exe)

Do you use the soundout plugin (avisynth) for audio encoding ?

buzzqw
9th December 2007, 22:35
i use soundout for automkv (mp3/ac3/wav)
oggenc for ogg
nero/cct aac for aac audio

BHH

gizmo27
10th December 2007, 10:10
Do you think it would be usefull to include soundout into the Gordian Knot package ?

buzzqw
10th December 2007, 10:55
only if used...

but this will change the way gordian know will handle audio...

soundout is powerfull and stable, can be used (with nicaudio) to achieve fast conversion, and all sound fuction from avisynth are avaiable.

don't know... besweet is more "friendly" on stand-alone usage

You may not know that the development of GK has stopped for a long time. Any feature requests will end up with nothing. Instaed, put your request to AutoGK, you may have achance get it if LenOx,the author is willing to.

Hi

I'm searching for some voluntary good souls to continue the GKMod project.

It would be cool for this one to see the daylight. I think overall to the x264 cli support ;)

You can find The GKMod source code here ==thanks Kurtnoise13:)==:

Persons who have tested GKMod, can you report the bugs here please ?

For example, when you say that GKMod doesn't work with x264 cli, can you report with precision what happens exactly ?

Thanks a lot in advance.

PS : These are some firsts bugs reports :

I very like GK and using ONLY GK. So.... I'l be waiting GKMod!!!

I've tried GK with x264 vfw and if I stop the first pass before the end, this error message appears :
http://gordianknot.free.fr/gordian_knot_tests/x264vfw_error.gif

When I try x264 cli with GKMod, the "encoding process" is 1 second longer and it doesn't give any mkv
Using GKMod, this is the log :
05/03/2008 18:15:30: Job " 1 - VTS_02_1_1.mkv" started.

I have an appointment to go to today but when I get back, I'll try that.
It's nice to know that when (if?) set top players catch up, GKMod will be ready.:)

There are some problems with this mod's GUI:

*.d2v *.avi button is blank

In the Resolution tab, "Input Pixel Aspect Ratio" is blank.
(normally see 16:9 or 4:3 option)

In the Bitrate tab, for Audio 1 and 2, AC3 is not available as an option.

Trying to encode x264 - I really don't know anything about using this codec and I wasn't sure what to pick as far as a container goes so I picked mp4 just to see what would happen.

Couldn't preview at the "Save AVS" screen.
Error message said "Ran out of memory". (I have 2 GBs RAM)

Nothing happened as far as I could see when the job was to start encoding.

Log:

7/30/2008 6:07:47 PM: Job " 1 - Test_1.mp4" started.

Test T03 2_0ch 192Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3

ok I've forgotten to tell you that I'd like you to tests mkv container

and about the x264 cli : it works until the r649 one : over nothing happens... bizarre...

Sure it doesn't work at 200% but I really would like the developpers to correct the bug : just a last time.

I don't have enought knowledge in delphi but I'd like to see a new GK a last time : after I won't say nothing

I'm asking to you GK's fathers : please do something : GKMod can't be let at this status.

I you want the source code, ask it : I'll give to you

Thanks to have the patience to read my post.

It's not bizarre: starting from r655 (May 2, 2007), x264 CLI behaviour changed: you have to specify a ratecontrol method (e.g. with "--bitrate XXXX" or "--crf XX.YY", see docs), it doesn't default to "--qp 26" anymore.

Yes, please!
I've looked into other encoding methods but I find myself always returning to GK because IMHO, none other can compare with it.
