System Requirements:


A 32 bit (x86) version of Microsoft Windows XP SP2+, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.
Microsoft .NET Framework v2.0+ to be installed on your PC (windows update).

CHANGE LOG: (latest version) - v3.1.0.0

Although I never keep track of every change/fix/update when I should, these are some of the ones I have noted:


Added direct '*.TS" support as an input file (kind of experimental).
Added closed caption support (will read in closed caption files created by index.NET).
Added some further options via right-click on preview namely: 'Force 4:3 input to 16:9','Force 16:9 input to 4:3', and three audio volume options (setting remembered between loads): MAX, LOW, MUTE.
Updated 'index.NET' which like before it with avi.NET, it has been completely re-written.
In doing the above, new code in index.NET has given rise to new code in avi.NET.
Altered feedback information and text of display window and tooltips to a more understandable and neater format.
Tweaked the subtitle and audio routines.
Fixed a couple of spelling mistakes.
Altered various 'check' and 'feedback' dialog routines.
Changed over to Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 RC.
Various other little code clean-ups and changes.

Can I use this to convert ".rmvb" video into H.264 or H.263? Thank you in advance.

Just tried updating to avi.NET 3.5, and now get this error when opening a VOB file for encoding.

"windows mci rejected my attempt to open a file"

Edit:
Just reverted back to 3.2 and it works fine. Not sure what's up with the new one.


Anyone else having this problem?

I am running 3.5 and have no problems. Are you trying to convert directly from a DVD? Especially one that is commerical made?

Also what windows are you running. I have Windows XP MCE SP2 and the program converts vobs just fine.

I'm converting ripped pgcs (ripped with pgc.net from a VIDEO_TS folder, which was ripped with anyDVD)

The exact asme files worked and encoded no problem under 3.2.0.0

I'm on windows 7 32 bit.

Not sure on pgc.net, maybe try without that. I ripped the DVD to HD then run avi.net. Course I don't use anyDVD either (gave me too much problems with my system). I just ran 3.5 and it worked fine for me. Course I'm using Windows XP.

Try without pcg.net first, maybe something about it and 3.5 don't like each other? But if 3.2 works, why not stay with it unless you need newest xvid.

Also since you have Windows 7, why not try out the author's new video.net which saves in the .mkv/mp4 containers now. I would like to use it but it uses .NET 4 which I can't install.

Other than that, you could try posting in his other forums, or email him, to see if he knows what the problem may be. Sorry couldn't be much of help to you.

Havent used avi.net for a while, just downloaded the latest version, but it displays the following message when trying to preview the video (dvd), it indexes it without problems, i'm using windows 7, xvid 1.3.2 (from your site) and windows 7 codecs from shark007

How about adding a stream copy option. I have to remux h.264 video and encode AC3 audio to AAC from an avi container into an mp4.

Not for avi.NET, h.264 in an AVI is just crazy, but maybe just my opinion!
Can you load the AVI into MKVmergeGUI? If so, save as MKV then use rebox.NET to make the MP4, it will leave your video untouched and convert the audio to AAC for you.

I am also having problems with the "Windows MCI rejected you attempts to open a file..." message. I have downloaded new and older versions of avi.net, but get the same error message. This has occurred within the past 2 weeks. I have Windows Vista. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Could you possibly add additional input/output options for AVI.NET? maybe by using FFindex for non MPEG sources? you can expand some more compatibilities.

I know you have video.net, and thought you would eventually create a AVC.net... but if you could update AVI.NET for AVC/AAC output (MP4/MKV) .. maybe change the name to AV.net or something

If this is too much, can you maybe expand input options using FFindex so no matter what the file type it can be indexed and loaded with AVI.NET?
Just a request. What are your thoughts? possible?
