PS. Jsoto, don´t take this comment in a bad way, but it´s really frustrating that no one, with a powerful Q2D machine and 4gb. of ram, and a 8800GTX graphics card like you, do a test in your holidays :P JK
I have a P4 single-core mono-thread 1 GB RAM (I'm doubling your capacity!! ;) ) and an ATI 7000 series very old graphics card...
But for testing you always can do some tricks. In example, try blanking all cells except one or two in the main movie to create a very small DVD. After that you can use this small DVD to do the tests much more quickly

I have a request about split, if possible.
It is ;
(1)process split and blank one of cell at the same time.
(2)process split and stll one of cell at the same time.

Because ;
A certain DVD seems to be wrong.
It can't be compressed by DVDShrink with error.
It is in the same point for everyone in Japan.
It seems to be caused by 1 bad VOBU (25/30 second) from examination.

The method of resolve is :
(a)split the cell in pre and post of the problematic part. =>blank the splitted problematic tiny cell. =>compress.
=>replace the blanked cell by extracted original cell.
(=> need to edit cell type to seamless from non-seamles which changed by blank.)
(b)split the cell in pre and post of the problematic part. =>still the splitted problematic tiny cell. =>compress.
(c)cut the problematic part from the cell and split =>compress.

(c) is processed once with VobBlanker.
(a) and (b) need to be processed 2 or 3 times with VobBlanker.
I think it is convinient if possible to process split and blank, split and still at one time.

And I'm still overloaded at work. No free time here..

However, why donot use method (c)?. It should work fine

Sorry to request what need much work.
Current feature is enough for me. And I found splitted files must be saved once in the purpose of extracting the cell which is replaced later.

I don't like method (c) because it remove a part though tiny.

I know this is the VB. thread and jsoto knows how much I support his product, but jinjin_jp, I think DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php) can do what you are asking.

Using VobBlanker (one of my favorite tools!) 2.1.3.0 I've noticed this:
- Select "Use Input Folder" first.
- Select VIDEO_TS.IFO of the DVD to be processed.
- All VTS's are marked as "Skip" thereafter.
- Happens with different DVDs (no ILV's present).
- If "Use Input Folder" is selected after DVD is initially parsed, then VTS's are marked "Process".

Is this a feature?

More or less....just to save some clicks
When you open a DVD with "Use input folder" selected, VB undestands you're going to process the minimum number of titles/menus, so all of them are (by default) marked as skip and you have to manually mark as process the ones you want to process. All the rest are not touched by the program

But if you open the DVD w/o "Use input folder" selected, the only way to get a legit DVD (with all the contents) is to process all the VTS (note even in keep mode it is something more than a simple copy), so all the VTS are marked (by default) as process.

However, if you change the "Use input folder" setting after loading the DVD, VB does not modify the current selections, to avoid any modification on the selections you could have already done.

Just got a new PC and it has windows vista. I can not get the preview window to work. It only shows a single pic? Do i have to install something else for the preview window to work? Love this program!

I have a request. Not sure how easy this is to accomplish. Could you please add an option in VobBlanker to do an 'in place' process like FixVTS? I don't want VobBlanker to create new DVD files therefore using 2x the space on my hard drive.

Sometimes I do not have enough space for the doubling up of files. Which is why this feature would come in very handy.

As I am sure you are aware, VobBlanker stores its working files in the backup folder, then swaps them to the input folder. No files are destroyed, nor should they be. I don't know of too many apps which overwrites their source before they are finished processing the files. As you say, maybe FixVTS, but this results in danger if you abort.

So, the answer is to get a bigger hard drive, I am sad to say.

Or process one domain at a time. Of course, you must have enough disc space if you want to process the main movie VTS, but usually, the stuff that needs to be blanked is in another VTS.

Thanks for the replies. Even if I had more space on my hard drive I would still prefer the FixVTS way of things.

I would like to hear what jsoto has to say on it. But he seems to be very busy at the moment so we will just have to wait and see.

Can someone outline me the "Can Do and cannot Do" with movies containing ILVUs.
I would like to do some cell blanking ( I know how to do it in non_ILVUs DVDs).
I should change the Action from Skip to Process.
Then I have a PGC with ILV="Yes" and inside that Title, I have some cells with ILV="Yes", others with "ILV"="No".
Can I do cellblanking as usual , regardless of ILV value?
Do I have to rebuild timemaps?

VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) wont work with domains that are interleaved. If you wish to blank other titles on the DVD, just process those normally and leave the domain with the ILVUs as "skip".

i've been using vobblanker alot lately to create chapters by splitting cells using the guide on the vobblanker's homepage. it works great.! the thing is, when i play the movie in powerdvd afterwards, the on-screen display reads the chapters as, "1/1". or if i go to other chapters, it has the "/1" at the end. "13/1". this affects the chapter jump using the numpad on your remote using a hardware dvd player, as it does not work.

only after i process the title through pgcedit the chapter numbers show up properly.

sometimes, if i create many chapters, vobblanker just quits on me during the reading/creating of the new ifo files towards the end of the process. luckily, i can use ifoedit to create the ifo's from the vob's in the vobblanker_backup folder.

is there a reason why VB quits/closes during the ifo creating process?

Run IfoEdit. Open your new VIDEO_TS.IFO. Click on the VMG_PTT_SRPT in the top window. In the bottom window find appropriate Title and it's "Number of chapters (PTT)" line. Fix a wrong number of chapters. Save IFO. Close IfoEdit. Check your DVD in the PowerDVD. All must be Ok.

Hi guys! :)

First, thanks for your work on VobBlanker!

Unfortunately I'm having a problem...
I've posted it on the SubtitleCreator thread here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1211933#post1211933), as it occurs while using the DVD Authoring Wizard of SubtitleCreator, but it's a VobBlanker error
so I followed manusse's suggestion to post about it here and hopefully get some help

On the DVD Authoring Wizard of SubtitleCreator I hit start, demultiplexing finishes ok, so does multiplexing of the new dvd.
Then Vobblanker starts (at about 65-66% of the total process) and after just a few seconds I get the following message by VobBlanker:
Error: Unable to stat 0.IFO
and the process stops at that point (around 66% of the total process), no new DVD is created...
I did a small search and found that this error has been reported again here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1098211#post1098211), but I didn't find any solution for this

I'd really appreciate any help!

Are you remultiplexing within VobBlanker? This is useful for replacing menu backgrounds but I've not seen it done with a title. Or with SubtitleCreator?

Remux with muxman as a standalone (if the mux is not good, the log will say so) and then replace the old title with VobBlanker.

I am remultiplexing with SubtitleCreator.
Well the whole process is being handled by SubtitleCreator, through it's DVD Authoring Wizard.
First the demuxing with pgcdemux, then the remuxing with muxman and then vobblanker. All three instances are controlled by SubtitleCreator.
I tried manusse's suggestion, unselecting the "Retain the menu..." box in SubtitleCreator, which skips the vobblanker step and ended up with a working dvd
(which could indicate that the remuxing step with muxman is ok?)

to be honest I'm not very comfortable using muxman and vobblanker as standalone (one of the reasons I went for SubtitleCreator), but I will try it and post my results

UPDATE:
I remuxed with muxman as standalone (mux was ok) and then replaced the old title with vobblanker
the process finished with no problem, the only thing is the subtitle track I added isn't selectable in the final DVD... :confused:

any ideas?
as for the original problem, what does "Error: Unable to stat 0.IFO" refer to anyway?

You didn't mux the subbie track in properly. Muxman would have highlighted in red if the selected modes weren't chosen correctly. If they weren't, they may not have got muxed at all. Check your muxman log.

As for the stat error, I don't have the foggiest. I have not seen it in VobBlanker.

I figured the problem with the sub track not being selectable
I had to update the ifo file with the subtitle information, I did that with pgcedit
now it works fine :)

as for the original error, I suppose SubtitleCreator sometimes doesn't work as it should, maybe it was this particular dvd

in any case, thanks for your help :)
