Is possible add Video_TS folder for output dir, Since latest version of powerdvd couldn't play if without video_ts folder.

If you want to see your DVDs from hard drive you can associate an IFO files with PowerDVD.
1. Launch PowerDVD.
2. Call the Configuration menu (Ctrl+C on keyboard).
3. Click "Advanced" button on the "Player" tab.
4. Check a checkbox as shown.

5. Now you can starts your DVDs from any folder on your HD just double clicking on VIDEO_TS.IFO.

Hi all,

First post here, first ever VobBlanker problem

I'm a long-time user with no problems til now, so I don't think I made any bonehead mistakes.

I was just trying to do chapter splits on a DVD.

At 88% I get the following errors:
Caught exception trying to allocate AudioInfo # 454001
click OK
Out of memory
click OK

FYI this DVD was only unusual in that the audio was over one gig worth of wav. I don't know if that might matter.

I did get what I needed by de- and re-muxing with VobEdit and Muxman, but I still thought I should report the problem.

This is a true error, not your fault.

VobBlanker is storing in memory a small information (PTS, CellID, LBA..) per Nav/audio and sub pack, while writting the VOB
This info is used afterwards to adjust the internal pointers if needed, to reconstruct the IFO, etc.
The problem is the very large number of audio packs in the case of a large DVD with one (or even two) PCM track/s.

I could change the way VobBlanker works, and do the pointer adjustments cell by cell, and not all of them at the end, just to save memory... but it is easier for me if you increase your memory. Try in other PC with more memory or (may be) increasing the windows virtual memory.

I used to have AnyDvd active while using VobBlanker to remove unwanted titlesets during the rip of a protected DVD9 to the hard drive. I backed up my purchased DVDs for my own use. Now this can't be done.

Is there a worry that VobBlanker may be the next to be banned if it is used in this fashion. Is that why it will refuse to run with AnyDvd?

Don't bet on it. ;) There are 2 things in the works at Slysoft that will hopefully fix their problem with DVD Shrink once and for all. I also agree that jsoto was very wise to implement this. It was the right thing to do.

EDIT: Oh I misread what you said...you meant endanger the third party tools. yes, I agree with that.

Um, ok. I don't know where the Slysoft bashing is coming from, but, they only recommended VobBlanker to those DVD Shrink users who didn't wish to buy CloneDVD...which has NO problems working with AnyDVD on any title. They are working on fixing the problem with AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter but wanted their customers to have a free solution in the meantime.

i made a judgement without any knowledge on the matter and i apologize. i just don't want to see my favorite piece of software jeopardized. i guess jsoto had a good reason to limit the use of his software and has every right to do it, and he should be asked why he did so.

It's no problem. jsoto did what he HAD to do and I have no issue with it what so ever. No one wants to see jsoto's masterpiece compromised.

I'd like to thank you too jsoto. I've been using version 2.1.1.0, and it's simply amazing.

I'm to cheap to buy Dual Layer media so I have to do some cutting to reduce the size of the dvd as much as possible before compressing it so I can have the highest quality possible, and your software does it better, faster, easier than anything, and quite intuitively.

Say, would you all say RC2 is stable enough for use by someone that's not a real techy?

I've been using it since beta and haven't had any problems. The RC's seem quite stable to me. You should give it a shot...just keep your old version "just in case". :) If you do have problems, make sure to let jsoto know as the feedback will definitely help him out.

Gotta question. Be aware I'm not use to VobBlanker and PGCEdit looks like egyptian hyroglyphics to me.

I have movie on my HDD. Open it in VobBlanker. I hilite the main title in Titleset window. I hilite the PGC of my choice and click the Cell button. Now, I see 40 cells. I want to blank cell #40 (that I can do) but what I can't figure out is with cell #39, I want to keep the first half of cell #39 and completely disregard (throw away) the last half of cell #39. Can I do that in VobBlanker? A guide anwhere? I tried the split/cut option but it made cell #39 into two cells making a total of 41 cells then had to process a second time to blank the new cell (formelly the last half of cell #39). I also tried prev/cut to mark the beginning to middle of cell #39 (set to keep) but after processing the whole cell was still intact (uncut).

I can do it easy in DRMpro but if I can do it in VobBlanker it can make my import and process times quicker.

Just blank the bits out of cell 39.

Guide on the VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm) site. But for cell blanking, you need to also select Prev/Cut in the Cells in Title dialogue. You then Mark the start and end of your cut (ensuring Action between marks is correct) and click OK. Click Apply after that (perhaps you clicked Close the first time, which closes and discards changes) and Process in the main window.

well of course it didn't work. you have to set the end mark to the middle of the cell! (set the slider to where you want to cut it and press the 'Mark' button in the 'End Mark' panel. then OK, Apply, and Process.)
i've just tried it and it does exactly what you want.

Thats what I said I did. Just bad wording. Sorry I wasn't clearer. Correction below. :)

But, I got it to work now and think I figured out why it wasn't before. Before I set which cells to blank and set my marks to cut. Then after that I went in the Strip pane to set which audio to strip. I noticed if I do that then go back and look at the Cells in title pane, their all reset to keep. If I choose my cells to blank and cut and not choose to strip any audio the blanking and cutting works. For some reason I can't blank/cut and also strip audio all in one process. I must be missing something somewhere. I have vobblankers setting at default.

Also, If I try choosing the audio to strip first then go to try and prev/cut button to cut a cell the mark buttons are greyed out (unclickable).

There is a good reason: It is not supported. You need to do two VobBlanekr sessions. (BTW, do not forget to reload the DVD between the two sessions)
