No, sorry i just checked the code and it's my mistake. The framerate flag was not passed if you set force film manually.
It will be fixed in the next build.

I would like to have the option of container selection but that takes time and my free time is limited. An it's not like the tools he's using offer AVI muxing (I've been thinking about AVI output with audio in MeGUI as well but discarded it for the same reasons).
There are many players capable of MP4 playback with AVC/AAC and if they don't work for you i'm sure a directshow splitter with AVC support will be available soon.Installing Nero should to just fine.. Nero's splitters obviously can handle MP4 and AVC.

mezzanine, could you also provide a pack with the needed tools?
I ask this coz there are different builds and versions of the tools you mentioned in the first post and not all builds/versions works with your app.
Also it would be nice for newbies to have everything at "one click distance".
So if you provide a pack with working versions of the tools along with an installer will be a great move :)

It gives an option to select which subtitles you want to rip from the source, then outputs *.idx and *.sub files(http://rapidshare.de/files/833344/AutoACsub.gif.html), there is also an option to include vobsub filesize in the output calculations.
Trying to find a way to mux them now.

I am begining to doubt AutoAC's capabilities to find the proper AR. I compressed a music clip which was 4:3 AR, and the final resolution was 464x336. But that means an AR of ~1.38, while 4:3 should be around 1.33. So that means an AR error of ~4%.
I encoded the same clip with AutoGK, and the res was 400x304, which means ~1.31, basically a 2% error in AR, which is better than AutoAC's 4%.

Hi mezzanine. I know you don't have much spare time for AutoAC, but are there any news about the new build?
I'm just wondering if you have found a solution to lower the AR error, as that's what's bugging me atm.

Great, can't wait for next build!
Also, it seems AutoAC doesn't work with DTS, which is a shame. DTS is more uncompressed than AC3 so the output quality should be better, right? DTS is encoded at bitrates over 700 kbps, while AC3 sticks with 384-448 for 5.1 audio.
Is this right?

1) I donīt know how to handle faac. What is good q Faktor for it. Maybe in comparison to "streaming" or "internet" in Nero? :)
2) I cannot configure the x264 codec with it. AutoAC says: Mistake in x264vfw and that there is no possibilty to configure it. But I can configure it in Virtual Dub Mod. So it is not a problem of the codec-installation. I attached a picture of the mistake

You are trying to open directly from the dvd drive. Ripping is not supported by AutoAC. Try decrypting the dvd to hard-disk first.

I have a question: what should I use? Stereo or 5.1 surround sound? Can 5.1 aac be downmixed to stereo without problems? AC3 5.1 sound usually sounds better downmixed to stereo than stereo mp3, so tis is why I'm asking.

You have the choice between 5.1 AAC and Stereo AAC. A downmix to stereo is easy in mplayer.

:) that is good news...
I found the board and it seems there is an error in finding the log that autocrop creates, i will see what i can do. Also users have to make sure that the source is not a DVD-Rom, autoac does not support ripping, use dvd-decrypter first. mezzanine, your program rocks!
1)It would be great if you could use x264 cli for direct avs to mp4 encoding instead of avs2avi,x264 vfw and avi2raw.I know it would require much work because it would require to write your own GUI for x264 settings and to use custom commandlines :(
2)AutoAC works this way if I'm not wrong.Demuxes the AC-3 stream with DGIndex,normalizes/downmixes/outputs to wav with BeSweet and encodes to aac with faac.I think it would great if you could use BeSweet with vobinput.dll directly from the vobs for normalizing/downmixing and outputing to wav.Less time and disk space,5.1 waves are very big you know,no need to make it harder:)
3)Still having cropping problems as I have already told you,I think if you could crop before resizing would solve me.Please?:(

1) Yes changing to x264 cli is something i'm thinking too.
2) I don't know if it's doable because i'm cutting the ac3 delay dgindex reports when converting from ac3 to wav in besweet. Is vobinput capable of detecting delay and cutting it ?

Besweet can detect delay and cut it.You are mistaken.. BeSweet can correct delays (in the positive or negative sense), but if you want to cut an audio stream, you need besplit ;) Besweet can process only a part of the source though, using the -split() parameter.
mezzanine was refering to delay detection though.. besweet cannot do that. Without demuxing, the only way to get the delay is if it's provided as input.. for instance from the info file DVD Decrypter can create.
opsis81
23rd April 2005, 19:55
Didn't know that Doom9.:)
But there is no reason to detect or cut the audio delay anyway.
"If you used DVD2AVI, which is the most common way, the delay is in the filename. If you are using besweet in vob input mode, you just need to use -ota ( -d auto ) in your command line."
These are exact words of KpeX.He is an audio guru,he knows better:)

Now, there won't be any troubles. Today's AMDs have mmx + other optimizations like ssx and the like.
