Select directory in numenu4u or debug e-mail facility?
I did select the right directory in debug e-mail facility, but left the numenu4u at default.

i actually have a similar issue, in my main screen i select the dvd i'm working on and in the debug screen i select the working directory but i always end up with a zip file containing a scan of my c: drive.

Zeul, I e-mailed the files to you. I zipped the working dir by myself and deleted video and audio files. Let me know if this will do

Finally a new release :D
15/10/04 NuMenu4u RC2 Build 4
Bug Fixes:
Alteration to the sub starttime - occasional button not compiled
Variety of bug fixes to correct copying files when dif4u threshold is higher
When called from dif4u the first drive that had a valid dvd structure would be used , not the intended drive
Settings now saved again
Some changes to stop overflow error
Major change to the AVS script editor. many of the parameters were never passed into the NTSC scripts,
Deinterlacing now provides the correct scripts
Major fix to the passing of the encoded m2v files into the NEW_M2V folder for scenarist.
Major fix to a dumb error that wouldn't allow any menu PGCs to be created in non-processed VTSs - this would cause a variety of scenarist compile errors if VIDEO_TS.VOB was being processed
Fix to scanning for dummy cells - where cell demux needs to be invoked first
Enhancements:
A new special script for PAL deinterlacing should now be used - I have not included any particular script for this - use your own
Added ability to specify whether the menus are progressive or interlaced by default (in the Quality settings) NB see the note!
New installer that will remove previous version and ALL settings if wanted - Recommended
As a footnote; I have extensively tested the debug screen with the working directory in a variety of places and with different filenames inc spaces, and everytime I have success. To recap the menu in the main screen should be the one presently being worked upon. Then press the 'select working directory' button in the debug screen and select the full path to your directory, so if the VIDEO_TS folder inside the working dir had this path c:\ZeulTest\Test\VIDEO_TS then you would select c:\ZeulTest\Test as the working directory. For clarification the path chosen is now displayed in the working directory field.

Just did the "Walking Tall" menu and it was completed successfully. I will report back if it works correctly in DVD player.
PS. WHere can I donate for numenu4u?

I would like to be able to select priority on the whole process so it doesn't clog up my PC so much.
Is it ok to do something on the computer while Numenu4u runs or should I just get away from PC while numenu4u works?
Another thing, should I turn off screensaver while running numenu4u?

Thanks again Zuel.

I just finished the DVD BONUS of Van Helsing.
All works perfectly.
My deiterlace script was correctly used, and the new setting "progressive/interlaced" for CCE is excellent for PAL dvds.
(I must add that I have changed to scenarist 2.7.Beccause I read that to many had problems with version 3.0 with Scenaid, Numenu, etc.. )
So I had no scenarist error either.
Thanks a lot for this new build.

ASFAIK there are no problems with scenarist 3.0 and numenu4u. This is a problem with scenaid IF the title has BOV

Hi Zeul,
i'm trying to do sex and the city season 3 disc 1 R2, but numenu4u rc2 b4 crashes while building the scenarist script (as did b2 and b3) :(
it is a multi episode disc with two vts for the menus. happens with every possible combination of the two.
Procedure Name: CheckAudioSource
Module Name: AssetProcess
Error Number: 53
Error Description: File not found
Error Source: Project1
Error Line: 22
Call Stack:
CheckAudioSource --> AssetProcess
NewGenerateTrackData --> Scenarist_Build
CreateSCP --> Scenarist_Build
StartNuMenu4u --> ExecuteProgram
go_Click --> MainForm
in the debug process i also end up with a zip file that doesn't contain any files from my working dir, though i'm sure that i followed your footnote instruction and did select the right directory.
tell me if/which files you need.
i really appreciate the hard work you are putting into this program, thank you

the entire FRAMESERVING folder
VTS_01_0.VOB from the SUBTITLES folder
ALL the original IFOs
logs
and a directory listing would be useful too

i had a very similar problem. it resulted from bad or missing registry keys of dvd decrypter. i did a windows re-installion before and this was one of the tools i thought i had re-installed too but i did not - only the folder remained and the registry keys where gone. maybe u have a similar problem. took me a while to find out because everything seemed to be okay.
does it always happen - i mean - on every dvd? also check if the other tools needed are in place. im no expert - just a user. htis solved the error 53 for me.

CCE is now processed in batches of 50 not 75 - CCE would on occasion complain of unsupported frame size or avifileinfo error
NTSC_FILM is now derived from the log file instead of internal computations
Change to the internal routines for support of multiple bmps per cell
fix: if there was > 1 bmp per cell the first bmp did not always have the correct end time / duration
fix: if the palette needed to be replaced in the ifo becuase of multiple cell use, then only the video_ts.ifo would have been fixed
HMMMM, Actually remembered to include the zipping dll this time! May account for the strange results
Found the problem which was resulting in no VOB file in the SUB folder or the audio not being processed.
enjoy

I would just like to add a Well Done Zeul. I just backed up Hidalgo UK Pal version.Re-encoded the menu with a avg of 2800 6pass'knocking about 100mb off the menu down to about 180mb(didnt really wanna drop the bitrate much more as the menu was interlaced) and the menu worked fine.I used Numenu4u RC2 Build 3 to do it.
Nice one.

I have for the first time tried to use this program.
Everything runs fine but when Sceanterist has finished successfully the hole process stops.
I seems that nothing continues, and the progress bar has stopped at apx 70%.
What could be wrong here??

eriksen,
what version of NuMenu are you using?
what are your Scenarist settings?
Import, compile, Close?
What version of Scenarist are you using?
check your NuMenu4U.log file (in your program directory) and see what the last process reported was.

The latest version of Numenu (RC2 Build4)
The settings for Scenarist are import, compile, close
I use Sonic.Scenarist.v2.7.0241
Sonic Scenerist just says compile successful but the whole process stops. Like no jobs are given to numenu.
I can't find the NuMenu4U.log file in install dir?
I use the latest avisynth (2.5.5.0)
Maby I should try with version 3.0 but I've read in the forum that this could cause some bugs.
Please help..

sorry mate, forgot to mention that you have to have 'enable LOG File' selected in Default Settings.
personally i would change Scenarist Settings to 'Import' only and see if there are any import errors, then compile (again check for errors) then run the IfoUpdate.bat (or something like that) file.
oh and try build 5.
if all else fails, use the debug function to send zeul the files
cheers

Wow that was a lot of tips. Will try them when i come home from work today. Actually I had enabled the log file? Hmm might have deleted it in my confusion.
There is just another thought. I manually tell the program where Scenarist is in the very beginning. But if I tell the program to search for the program it can't find it.
This is because it's looking for the installed files in the "c:/..../program files" dir. Both scenarist and numenu are placed in my danish "C:/...../programmer" folder. Could this have a bad effect??
Thanx for your time

If scenarist has said compile is successful, then unfortunately it is another Automate_Scenarist problem. To fix just close scenarist, and then in your running processes stop Automate_Scenarist. Once this is closed NuMenu4u will carry on as normal.

No Ill effect.. the scenarist scan utility is setup to only scan "c:\program files" to save time during the initial scan... we realize some people wouldn't have it installed there which is why it prompts you if it can't find scenarist

Just tried once again.... Now with Scenarist 3.0
This is what happens. It says completed!
(Still does not automaticly continue with NuMenu4u, even with the new Automate_Scenarist.
Then I manually shut down the scenarist file in task manager. Then NuMenu4u continues. But after a while it stops the program and exits.
If I now look in the video_ts folder I find the copied "old" files but the new ones (newly encoded) aren't there? I believe that I have to run the bat file now but then it gives me a runtime 76 error telling me that the path is not found????
I'm tearing my hear off right now.......
Please help...

you kill scenarist or automate_scenarist in the task manager? When Scenarist builds your menu, what's the last "automated" thing it does.. does it close for you the "completed" messagebox? or do you have to manually click that... how long did you wait before clicking it (if you did it manually) - are you doing other things during this so Scenarist doesn't have focus? - check in your demux directory, you should have a *_Import.log and _Build.log (* = the scriptname)
by copied old files you mean what?
Numenu will exit out when finished if you have that option checked ...

I have discovered a small bug that manifests itself, IF you invoke a shutdown of the program, then cancel the shutdown. Either trying to START or CLOSE will give an error. At this time this is not worth releasing a whole new build, as it will not affect the actual running of the program.

Details Details Details.. we need Details
I will try now to explain in details.
I kill automate_scenarist in the task manager after that it has come up with the "completed" box. I have to close the box manually.
Hmm can't remember how long it took before I hit the "completed" box - Maby 2 mins or so.
During the Scenarist process it did no other jobs which could have stolen some CPU power.
My demux directory?? I believe you mean the root folder where all the created files are stored at. In that case I can't find the:
*_Import.log and _Build.log (* = the scriptname)
I have these folders:
Batch_1 (in this folder there is 2 files: *ScenaristScript27_1* and a large notepad dokument with the same name.
D_VTS_02_0
D_VTS_03_0
VIDEO_TS
NuMenu4U (notepad file)
Update_Menu_Ifo (bat file)
-----------------------------
There is no place in the root folder where I find import.log og build.log files??
Ealier I wrote that old files was copied. With this I mean no newly created files (the ones that was supposed to be compressed are placed here) - They are missing. This is the content of the original folder:
VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1
VTS_02_0 (Size: 1.030.708 - Supposed to be encoded @ 3000avg CCE)
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_1
VTS_02_2
VTS_02_3
VTS_02_4
VTS_02_5
VTS_02_6
VTS_03_0 (Size: 108.350 - Supposed to be encoded @ 3000avg CCE)
VTS_03_0.BUP
VTS_03_0.IFO
VTS_03_1
And this it what is found in the newly created Video_ts folder:
VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
So as you can see, nothing has actually been created?????
Something interesting in the "Numenu4u.txt" file:
Automatic IfoUpdating skipped - use created .bat file after authoring
But if i double click on the .bat file it gives me error that the patch does not exist.
Oh and i forgot to tell you that after I have clicked "ok" in the "completed box" in Scenarist, I see and overview of the whole project (audio, video sub assets illustrated) in the top of the screen.
In the left corner in the bottom I read this:
"Warning Quadrant or Sigma Design MPEG decoder is not present or the driver is not installed. Warning Hardware decoding of video may not work.
I forgot to mention that I use Avisynth 2.5.5.0 and
CCE.SP.v2.67.00.27 EclCCE.v1.81
Thats the info I got for you
Hope this has been helpful in salving these major problems that I have with this cool program.
I really hope you guys can find out what's wrong
Thanx alot in advance
I will send my numenu4u.txt file to .... can't remember his name

well, the obvious thing is that full scenarist processing has not been enabled. I assume that you are running NuMenu4u first, then going to DIF4U, otherwise full control would be the default. In scenarist tab, select option 'Import, Compile, Close'
You have selected Import only. This imports the script into scenarist and does nothing else. It won't compile the script for you, doesn't close scenarist and hence when you press updateifos.bat there are no files to update.
Note: you are processing VTS2 & VTS3, this is why the VIDEO_TS folder doesn't contain these files.

I haven't even used the program DIF4U yet?? Is this the problem.
I thought this program worked alone? All I want is to re-encode the menu's and afterwards use e.g Dvdrebuilder.
If I'm not mistaken I wrote somewhere in this thread that I should use Import only. But I see your point of using 'Import, Compile, Close'. I think I've already tryed that, but I'm running a test once again.
If DIF4U is needed to get things work then this surely is my problem. But aren't there a small setup guide for the programs then.
If not maby you could write a few lines.
Thanx for your time

If this msg pops up, then scenarist hasn't compiled properly indicating a script error. Can you send me the ALL the ifos, entire frameserving folders, vts_01_0.vob from the subtitles folder.
