I don't see why people would use this option. Why not just set the computer to go to sleep in power management? When I come home my computer is in S3 sleep mode and all I have to do is hit the space bar to wake it up. If I am home when the encoding is done nothing happens. I assume that most people are using XP by now and the sleep mode works just great.

Well, some of us don't use power management options at all for certain reasons.

If he moved that Shutdown button to the encoding window, then those
people who would find that option most useful won't be able to use it!

I am referring to those who want to have Shrink do Deep Analysis and Transcode in one shot. Since that can take up to an hour, having the option to choose shutdown BEFORE you do that is necessary. You don't want to have to come back to the computer AFTER it does the Deep Analysis to enable the option to shut down. Defeats the purpose.

Now, how often are you going to choose to shutdown after Shrink is down - and then come back before it's done? Most people do this at night before they go to sleep.

Anyways if Shrink is up to it, he COULD have an option box in both places. One where it is now - before you do Deep Analysis/Transcode.
And another located in the transcoding window with option to uncheck the shutdown option. But if not, I say leave it the way it is now.
If you're planning to be away from the computer - and there's a high chance that you'll be back before it's done - then just leave that option uncheck. You can always activate your system's Stand-By or Hibernate feature in those cases.

Good points; I agree. Except about Stand-By/Hibernate, though: one totally fucked-up boot HD is enough, thank you very much.
