Great work! This week I'll write a guide for this superprogramm!

Mango Madness

still didn't help, even when i manually create an autodub.ini file it still doesn't work. THe program will open but without the application window and crashes with the runtime error.

EDIT: upon reinstallation the program starts right, now we'll see if it encodes right.

EDIT#2: with everything at default, besweet starts up and does it's thing (preset medium) but right when that happens and virtualdub tries to run, autodub throws and runtime 5 error invalid call or procedure. Once the program is exitted and you try to open it, you get runtime error 53. So it's like one crash leads to another crash.

I found some little bug that's still in 1.7 final :)
Under the 'Video' tab when you select 1:1 for Aspect Ratio and you put manually a resolution, after you've done cropping, for some reason the resolution changes back to some standard res.
For example; when you put 640*272 and you crop, the res. chnages back to 640*352.
So it seems that Autodub XP handles 'standardly' only 1.85:1 formats and not 2.35:1...

Can this be fixed?

hi,

@DaXearo
yes i will fix this :) thank u for the bug report.

@sysKin
hum i think i will separate these 2 options i have decided to automaticly enable chroma optimiser because it seems to me this could improve the chroma motion detection, but perhaps i am wrong :) .

I found a bug some time ago, it still exists in 1.7 final:
Under the 'Video' tab when you select 1:1 for Aspect Ratio and you try to change a resolution (width), as example 720->640, immediately after deleting 72 (in order to put in 64, 0 remains) the program exits with something like "...division by zero..." !
It's very annoying, as you will loose all settings.

I think, resizing procedure needs improvement, it's not convenient at all. When cropping you should see aspect ratio error.
Try to imitate resizing routine used in GKnot.

When exiting program, manually or due to error, why the settings are not saved ?

Hopefully this can be fixed.

Overall, nice program with great potential,
keep up good work !

hi,

@Micro
ok i will fix this bug :)
for the resize yes a lot of people have ask me to see the aspect error but the aspect error change when u resize. and if u have a 0% aspect error in 720*XXX after the crop but if u change the resize to 640*XXX the aspect error will change too . but i will find a way to put all the important informations in 1 window :)

>When exiting program, manually or due to error, why the settings are not saved ?

u need save your profil to reuse these settings but if u crash normaly the profils (generated automaticly by autodub) are still in the directory of your movie (the file are : XXX.prof and XXX.aud)

thank u :)

Why I have to create the d2v-file externly with dvd2avi? Couldn't you add the code to create these files to Autodub?

Thx in advance

hi,

@Big_Berny
yes i could add the support for the "dvd2avi command line" but autodub is still under construction :) i have a lot of function to add (dvd rip, autodetect audio stream....) just stay tuned :)

Have I missed something. Read all 11 pages couldnt find any1 mentioning it(pherhaps I missed it...got a litle tired after 6pages).

you're describing a part of the problem i had. under the window is an exception error. Still trying to contact dark about it cause i didn't have any of these problems with beta 5.

@DC
What are the chances of this being implimented shortly? I think it's the only function that's greatly lacking. I haven't used Autodub yet, but that'd be a nice feature for those who do.

2nd March 2003, 20:53
hi,

@kairen
yes support for avisynth v2.5 will be added as soon all interested filters will be supported by this version.

@hulkenstrong
wait i will post a version with the possibility to store in a .log file the error generated by autodub.
right click on the external program and select move to see which error msg it show u.
PS: try to use the v1.7 beta5 to see if u have this problem.

@Mango
strang i don't have made a lot of modification beetween the v1.7beta5 and the final. once i will post the version with the debug log file try it this will help me to see where this bug come from.

@metallikop
i will try to add this option in the next release but i think the options for audio are great (enable/disable useless switch for different input source, or gain used...etc..), test it and with the possibility to export/import audio profil i think audio is great :)

Thank u all for pointing me these crap error msg :)

I agree the options this tool does for audio are very nice, but besweet doesn't work well with mono audio. a custom command line lame entry would be very nice as well... but i know you've been asked that 1000 times. ;)

Very good release !

just few problems ... (litlle)

Oggmuxer isn't invocked correctly, i have a popup of parameter you call for oggmux.

As you now, the actually release of xvid, on P-IV cpu crash, using vqh and not disabiliting sse2 optimization ..., i hoped for a control of optimization.

Great Tool !!!

@majerle
i will try to see this problem for xvid (try to made an encode without vhq to test and perhaps replace vdub version with v1.4.13)

@Dark-Cracker,

Wow... finally v1.7 support DivX 5.03 :)

I have some questions :

1. AutoDub support AviSynth 2.50 ?
2. Plan for using Cyrius's Ogmuxer ?

majerle
4th March 2003, 12:53
@Dark-Cracker

Isn't a faul of your program or virtual dub ( 1.4.x or 1.5.x) it's a BUG IN XVID with p4 !

just uncheck sse2 optimization and all goes good !

BTW : i agree with ookzDVD, Cyrius ogmuxer is a great muxer, better (imho) than Koepy's one. It don't use direct show filters.

Thanks again

Andres

Hmm.. a little bug. When I want to add couple of videos to job-list so that I dont wanna make any changes to filters, crop or resizing values. It works great for the first one..but when I add the second file (only new d2v-file opened) it somehow changed the resolution from 480x368 to 480x256 even when I had correct resize value in resize-tab and I even tried to crop the second file again and made new resize with 4:3.
Of course it is easy to change in avs-edit, but this is little bit annoying. Thanks to the prewiev-window I noticed the wrog AR before encoding. But if I wanna convert whole TV-serie with 12 episodes I dont wanna change the hight manuall to every file. All other filter-settings remained correctly.

Hmm..something went horrible wrong..My goal was to make 143Mb Xvid file with your 1CD profile (I only untick 'use alternative scaling')and I didn't do audio since I had it already on my HD and goal was to mux it later so that the total file size would be 175mb.

But the Xvid file that was produced was 375Mb!! bits/pixel indicated that all were correct when I started the project.

hi,

@Mango Madness
happy to heard it work now fine :) strange because i always convert the path in dos path but some time it failed on some space path i will try to locate and erradicate this bug :)

@ookzDVD
i mus add support for ogmuxer but i have a problem with .omx file (used to aautomatic command line) but it will be added soon :)

@valky
yes this bug have been reported this day by another people, and it will be fixed :)
for your oversized file try to make a compressibility test, value must be beetween 60% and 80% under 50% your file will be oversize and over 100% your file will be downsize.
if your movie was very hard to compress try to use lower resoltion , a bilinear resize filter and perhaps try the CutOFF matrix in the xvid panel (give very good result for a lower size) disable chroma and GMC and enable VHQ 1 u will obtain a filesize lower.

PS: i will try to made some external profils (generical) for the xvid advanced settings.

Bye.

Actually I already did my encoding with all your settings. Bilinear, low-resolution (480x368), chroma and gmc disabled, vhq 1 enabled..That's why I was so confused :)

So I thought it had to be a bug, cause the filesize was so obviously wrong 143mb-->345mb

Your mp3 must be in "D:\MEMENTO" , where are ac3 files, should be named "stream1.mp3" ...

I've got ver.1.7 of AutoDub. I have successfully converted test avi with Autodub. But "video preview" doesn't work. After pressing "video preview" button Windows media player is opened. I can see setting up resize filter. But player screen is black and movie doesn't start as usual. I can scroll movie but I still see black screen. No error message appears. It looks like some problem with AviSynth.
Can you give mi any tip?
I have installed W2k.
Thank you for your reply.
You do good work :o)

What's version of avisynth ? 2.07 or more :cool: ?

Get sticky with 2.07 or change some dll in avsfile folder to use 2.5 (mpeg2dec.dll first of all).

EDIT : to view your version of avisynth open in vdub a script with a single command like:

Version()

@Dark-Cracker

please update your save routine if you change something in the Video Tab it isnt saved anymore in the [nameofd2v]_Movie.avs same if you change the file by hand its overwritten by the values in the Video Tab and other Tabs as example i wanted to use yV12InterlacedSelectTopFields() but it allways was overwritten by None in the changed [nameofd2v]_Movie.avs :( @ encoding start

Settings Changed = Save Them in the AVS
AVS Changed by Hand = Dont overwrite them with the Programm Settings @ encoding start

this makes it more dynamic for not so beginners :)

Easiest way to achive the 2 is dont save a new file if Start is pressed :P

it would be fine to have a option to and a mp3 file already encoded ;)...
