It works great but I would like to ask for two further improvements:

- also automatically adding names to the chapters based on the names of the original files
- possibilty to add more than just one file in one work step because for a large number of files it could be quite time consuming.

This is problematic because the filenames are often too long. But I will add a routine so that you can edit the chapters and enter the titles of your choice.

This has already been implemented. Simply select several files in Windows Explorer and drag & drop them into the Join grid.

Also I would like to know how I can prevent that the sequence of the files I'll add to the join grid through drag'n'drop is changed. Thanks !!

Thank you for the chapter editing function !! Works great, but I had a little issue with a few files because when I had them joined the chapter markers were off by a few seconds.
The chapter markers are determined by the duration of the video stream. But if the corresponding audio stream is longer, the marker is too early. I could change the marker to the longest duration of a stream, but correctly an audio stream should not be longer than a video stream. That's why it stays as it is.
As a solution, you should adjust the streams for the relevant section beforehand, or you can change the start time of the chapter (when editing). Keep in mind that the times here are in milliseconds and that the end time of the previous chapter must be 1 ms less than the new start time.

clever FFmpeg GUI does not add or remove any offsets. such offsets are already present in the video and should be removed beforehand.

I have just tested this; the files are transferred to the join grid in exactly the same order as they appear highlighted in windows explorer.

WOW! What a great program, thanks for all the hard work Bro :D

So, I've been converting UHD HDR video files to SDR (I have an older OPPO and telly that is not 4k) I've just been using Handbrake because it is so easy :) and using the basic color filter BT709 like others have suggested. Is using your lovely program basically doing the same thing? Sorry, but I am not conversant in the deeper stuff like this.

I have downloaded but not tried your program yet. I noticed in the color space area there seem to be a nice variety of choices that I am not familiar with. Would I just set it for basic BT709 encoding, or are there any other, finer 'Tweaks' with these settings that might help the color turn out better for these conversions? Would it allow me to do anything else or 'better' than I get with Handbrake?

I really appreciate any input or suggestions, and please remember I am not super duper technical in understanding the really deep things about this, but I really do want to understand it better.

For a correct tonemapping the BT709 filter isn't enough.
Here you have an example of how to convert a 4k HDR 10 bit video into a HD SDR 8 bit video readable for your OPPO with mobius tone mapping. The batch mode is used because the tone mapping is slow and in batch mode the standby is deactivated and therefore the entire video is encoded without interruption.
However, you can also encode just one sample instead of batch mode as a test.
To do this, activate the sample checkbox, enter the desired duration in seconds and click on encode instead of to batch.

Hi ProWo,

I haven't posted here for a long time, as I haven't been doing much of this sort of stuff, recently.

But the other day I thought I'd refresh my memory with some of these DV app's, and get back into to it again.

Despite the obvious of what the main objective is with these app's, I found one that would convert THD 7.1 to Eac3 7.1, and it's obviously using FFMPEG, so I thought I'd grab your latest build as see what happens, seeing you are constantly improving it :)

I was quite surprised, when after loading the same .thd file I had just converted, to only be presented with a "Not Supported" message.

Not sure how this other app/tool does it, but it does.

And another function it seems to do quite well, is converting SDR to HDR, it takes a while, but again, it does it.
