Hi, not sure if this has been asked before, I'm new here, and just started using this app.

Can TrueHD 7.1 be converted to E-AC3 5.1 ??

If so, how, or would this need to be added to the app ??

Is there any chance to implate single mono wavs export?
5.1 (6 ch) and 7.1(8ch) to single wav's (pcm) conversion implemented in latest beta version (v2.7.3_05_Beta).

Hi ProWo,

I have done a conversion test of a TrueHD track, to E-AC3, and even though I chose "channels" option as "as source", it still changed it from 7.1 to 5.1, HOWEVER, that is not a fault of the app, it's FFMPEG itself :(

The "brains" behind FFMPEG, need to figure out a way so that it does support 7.1 / 8 channels.

But it IS nice that there is now E-AC3 support :)

I noticed a 7.1 pcm option, I will see what that does.

edit:- I just tried the 5.1 & 7.1 single pcm option, and when chosen, all other options disappear, and nothing can continue :(

For what? To have 2D audio is more than enough 5.1 channels, 7.1 is unnecesary.

Maybe is better than use the "brains" for 3D audio and support Atmos.

I'm just sayin', some ppl would like 7.1, and have the hardware to use it, I, on the other hand, can ONLY use 5.1.

Maybe in the future, the "brains" might come up with ATMOS support, but that would still be useless for me.

I'm just happy that I have found a quicker way of converting TrueHD / Atmos to E-AC3, instead of DTSMA-HD (or what ever it is).

Reintegrated the prior simple IVTC function. In many cases it works flawlessly, in others is needed an improved Avisynth script. Both are now possible. Download the latest beta version (v2.7.4_03_Beta) and try it out.

I haven't used this little gem for a little while now, so I have a question...I notice that in "Video Conversion" there is a "Colorspace" option...does this allow a HDR to SDR conversion ??

I have since downloaded the latest beta build, and I am wondering if you could add an nVidia Decoder & Encoder options for those of us that have suitable nVidia GPU's.

OK, so thanks for replying, and I did a little test yesterday with HDR to SDR, or your BT 709 option...

I loaded a HDR HEVC movie (Batman), and basically only chose the BT 709 option, and let it go....other than being extremely slow (even with my 12 core CPU), I only let it run for about 10 minutes, and played what it had processed, and it looked pretty good, I checked it with Mediainfo, and it definitely wasn't HDR anymore :)

If that conversion could be done using nVidia GPU's, that might speed up the process.

Anyway, that's my feedback.

Well, that's sad, but if you don't think it's the way to go, then that's it.

Thankyou for at least looking into for me.

But having said that, since posted my request, I went looking, and found another FFMPEG based app called Axiom....it seems to do a lot.

Have been testing it, seems OK, but like every new thing one tries, requires a steep learning curve.

Does this REALLY convert audio to E-AC3 7.1 ??

I tried a couple of times, and just got an error, and that was it.

I extracted the .dts and then re loaded that as the source file, and tried the conversion, but I couldn't understand how to then process it :(

Conversion to eac3 7.1 cant be done atm.
This is a limitation by ffmpeg itself.

Would it be possible to introduce a file integrity check/verification of some sort?

I see FFMPEG has a "error" and "debug" flag, so perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult to implement?

I don't know if there's a newer/easier FFMPEG feature, but I found these postings from 2015 describing usage of some of the flag options:

The error messages from FFmpeg don't really help.
At most, they serve as information; if a video stream is really defective, then in the vast majority of cases it cannot be used anyway.
Small correction algorithms that FFmpeg provides are already built into clever FFmpeg-GUI, in audio and video conversion, cutting, joining or multiplexing.
