Before adding buttons to the menu, I want to add the background image. I searched for background image and all I got was basic descriptions and the need for selecting an option to display it.

I could not find how to add a background image. If I understand BD menus correctly, menu background images are not still images, but actual video files of user length. That means the 256 index color PNG file needs to be converted for menu use.

For the job I am thinking about, the background image will contain the background that I want and the text for the items to be selected. Simple buttons will be placed next to the text items.

Sorry, but I am at a loss as how to add the asset needed for my menu background.

That's true, you need both if you want menu but 700$ is not soo expenssive cause files will be 100% compliant.

Nonetheless, a free version of IGEditor will be a good idea (with some restriction). Anyway people which can't buy the full version will install/reinstall the trial for ever...A good compagny will understand this easily in my opinion.

and thanks for your comments. Just want to say that we can't develop qualitative product for less money. But i can promise to think how we can simplify interactive menu creation process. Maybe we can propose in future more simple and automatic (inexpensive) tool for Interactive Menu creation.

So, i can advice to use BDN XML format. This is more accurate and appropriate format for Blu-Ray subtitles during authoring process.

Hi MrVideo, Photoshop PSD is simplest and standard method for menu graphic creation. EasyBD supports 2 PSD formats: for Sonic Scenarist and for NetBlender DoStudio. I do't see any problem if you create all layouts and background in PSD and import it to IGEditor and then into EasyBD. Also, I want to say that you can create simple menu in IGEditor spending only 30-50 min, then continue using it in EasyBD. By the way, IGEditor's help contains step by step description how to create Interactive Menu from zero.

Again, we already think about very simple automatic menu generator ...

In the meantime I have found a quick and easy method to give easyBD a compliant sub file.

1) add srt subtitle to mkv file with mkvmerge (select no compression in extra and choose if you want hardcoded or not).
2) demux with tsmuxer. Now you have a compliant sub (...or it is sup?) file.

Can you help me? I am trying to create a simple 1 video track only disc using EasyBD Lite, where the encoding has been made using MeGUI / x264.

In MeGUI I use RAWAVC as the output container format. It outputs a .264 file. When I add it in EasyBD Lite it recognises it perfectly, like Progressive, 1080, 25 fps, 16:9, etc.

But when I click encoding it says:

If understand right easyBD is inserting automatically the "fake interlace" flag for video files 1920x1080 progressive 25 or 29.97.

Is this right? I have made a blu ray with 1920x1080 29.97 progressive without problems on PC or hardware player.

In some cases (for some formats) EasyBD compiles not 100% BD supported formats. That mean that your BD is not "standard", however players works fine, but this is useful only for home using. Please check all formats before making professional BD in studio.

If using the default 1-click authoring in EasyBD Lite, will the authored BluRay be auto-repeating or not? I don't have access to any Blu Ray burner or software, just MPC-HC, and it is not repeating in MPC-HC but it doesn't really mean anything.

Supposing by default it is not auto-repeating, can I make it? What do I need to do?

I've seen the very same problem (error involving save of a temp file with a bizarre name) and I use W7 Home Premium.

I've given-up on EasyBD Lite for this & other errors e.g. I can save a project file but it will never open as the project I saved.

Hi,

I realise this probably isnt an Easy BD Lite issue but I've used this tool to remux some blu rays, however playback with my WD TV is very choppy and stuttery. My WD TV plays back m2ts files created by tsMuxer with no problem at all. I know this tool is designed to create a blu ray structure for playback in a blu ray player, but could there be any reason on Easy BD's side that would make the WD TV choke? Like I say the WD TV plays back m2ts's created by tsMuxer without issue so something is different.

Thanks for the reply - I will try to upload a sample, however all I did was demux the audio and raw video stream from a blu ray using eac3to, and then remux to make a movie only disc using Easy BD. How could it not be BD format? Also, I don't think the WD TV cares too much whether it is strictly blu ray compliant, it normally plays pretty much anything.

The good news is if I remux an Easy BD structure with tsMuxer the WD TV plays it without issue. I think I'm just going to go back to using tsMuxer. For all its supposed 'uncompliantness' (that's definitely not a real word lol) I've yet to find a blu ray player that wont play a BD created with it.

Ok. We will change Muxer in Lite version as it has differences and this can be the problem. Pro version has latest BD Muxer. And anyway, I'll will fix the problem as soon as find it.

I have been creating a lot BDs using EasyBD Pro, and there are no problems. either on the playback on a computer or stand-alone-players (got 3 different). it doesn´t matter if it´s 1080p or 1080i.

some of them has been replicated easily.

This thread is about EasyBD Lite, and Valery just admitted Lite is different from Pro.

The only reason I can think to release a free (Lite) version of a product is to get people to try it, and thus they are inspired to invest in the full Pro version. But in this case the Lite version performs like pre-alpha software so I dunno this is going to work very well for them! But I'm glad you are happy with EasyBD Pro. :)

as far as I understood - easyBD Pro and easyBD lite using the same MUXER, so there should be no problem with lite as well.

as I am very corious, I also installed the light-version to have a look at it - created the same project I created with PRO before - worked exactly the same way as I expected. no problem with playback on software + standalone-player.

encoded the assets myself over here using apple compressor and cinevision encoder. 1080p24 and 1080i50.

I have made many BD Disk with EasyBD. With the purchased Suite Version.
I have not a problem.
My Project plays with the folder structure on my pc with arcsoft total
media theatre 5. No problem.
My burned BD Disk with ImgBurn plays with no problems on my LG BD Player
BD-370 and on my Popcorn Hour with a LG BD Drive or mounted as ISO Image.
I make this for test.

I create my BD Movie Assets with Final Cut Pro, Compressor 4, Surcode plug-in, dts-hd master audio suite for 7.1, Apple Motion
5, Steinberg Cubase, Photoshop, IGEditor, MeGui with avisynth on windows etc.
My Assets:
h264
mpeg2
ac3
Dts
Dts-hd master and dts-hd high resolution
Lpcm

My Burned BD, also on pc and BD Player works fine with this assets. no problem with interactive Menu structure, popup menu, 3 ore more audio streams, subtitle etc.

Check your assets and the max. bitrate for movie and muxed file --> see bd spec.

Yes, Lite uses previous BD Muxer. It gives sometimes and for some formats time inaccuracy, it also may show not 100% correct duration. But most of assets must be muxed the same way as last EasyBD version. There are no critical differences.

Regarding problem with playback: when buffer overflowed we keep time stamps interval in M2TS file as normal to BD spec. I think tsMuxer can just set time stamps more often, this will help for playback, but not help to official BD specification. I sure such M2TS after tsMuxer will never pass Eclipse tests.
But of course, no problem use it for home using, if it is ok for you.
