This is a cosmetic issue. But I think I mention it about a year ago and its estimation is still wrong.

I dont know how to reproduce it, but this is what I have got. I have been reencoding alot of TV-series and over the last 48 hours I have added my TV-series when the queue was almost complete. I also delete some jobs while it was running. I havent imported any queue, but I have exported it after each time I added new TV-series.

From what I can see, the job still says its working on job 19 out of 29, but its clearly the last job on the list. It also estimate 8 hours before its complete. But the current jobs says 3 min and its the last job in the queue.

Im using VidCoder 2.55

Please have a look at my screenshot.

Thanks, this will be fixed in the next version. There was an issue with removing multiple queue items at once.

Released VidCoder 2.57 (https://github.com/RandomEngy/VidCoder/releases/tag/v2.57):

I use your program all the time, it's wonderful! Thank you so much for continuing to improve upon it. I have a question though. I rarely re-encode audio but when I do, to something like AC3, why does the resulting file always has a -5 millisecond audio delay added to it, even if there was no delay before? I've only verified this through mediainfo but I was just curious why this seems to occur. Thanks again!

Audio encoder delay. Many lossy formats have such a thing. (If VidCoder/HandBrake handle them correctly, I have not tested. But ~5ms is typical for AC3.)

https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/QuickTime/QTFF/QTFFAppenG/QTFFAppenG.html (is about AAC but same principle)

Wow, totally over my head but I thank you for the links all the same. I figured there was a good reason for it and it seems like there is. I haven't noticed any issue in audio sync, but I just thought it was odd when the input file didn't show any delay.

I haven't noticed any issue in audio sync
5ms would not be noticeable. If you sit 1.7 meters further away from your speakers that's also 5 additional ms because of the speed of sound.

I took the liberty to check and it's just the basic "I don't know this app yet" pop-up.

He can just click "More information" and then he can allow the program to be run.

-- Edit: oh wait, there might be another issue. I forgot I run a separate antivirus (ESET) and Windows' built-in AV is therefore not active anymore.

Thanks for the report. People tell me it runs afoul of virus software every once in a while but the only way I can think of to help that is by shelling out $$$ for a code signing certificate.

Weird getting a "file not found" error.

Currently trying the same encode with VidCoder 2.62 instead of beta 3.3. Will let you know if that errors out too or not.

Windows Defender (as found in the Creators Update in Windows 10, with up-to-date definitions) is picking this up as being infected with "Trojan:Win32/Fuerboos.C!cl"

However, VirusTotal.com and VirusScan.jotti.org are picking up nothing. Neither does my eSET Internet Security, so I'm assuming it's a false positive.

Thanks for the update by the way :)

-- Edit: I have submitted the false positive to Microsoft so they can fix it.

Since I reinstalled my system VidCoder Beta 3 just won't run anymore on my system. As soon as encoding starts, within a few seconds I experience a crash: "Worker process exited unexpectedly with code -1073741819. This may be due to a HandBrake engine crash."

I have verified that it is a HandBrake issue, since running HandBrake itself also goes wrong.

Going back through various VidCoder 3.x Beta releases, I have verified that the last version to work correctly is VidCoder Beta 3.5. If I try VidCoder Beta 3.6, 3.7 or 3.8 encoding fails within seconds of starting...

I'm getting errors in the Windows log (most of it is in Dutch, as I run the Dutch version of Windows 10 Pro x64):
