In my compilation of three movies,I'm getting the status of 'retrying' on the last movie in the log. This is a movie that I ripped with Make MKV,and then used TSMuxer to create a standalone Blu Ray Structure. From this structure,I took the .MTS file from the 'stream' folder and added it to my compilation(along with the same type of files from two other movies that have separate Blu Ray structures) While these two files processed successfully thru M-AVCHD ,this one has been retrying since last night. Granted the file is larger than the other two,but I have a strange feeling the size of the file doesn't weigh on why it's taking so long.. Help,please....

I failed to do it with this method as well crl2007. I get the subtitles to show up in the 5 streams, when I use mediainfo on them it is there and a PGS file, in the 5 episodes but they are not showing up when I play the bluray.

Here is the report from BDinfo:

http://pastebin.com/MJtakNQA

I don't have any playlist containing them all and each playlist has 2 m2ts files, dunno what to do :/

For starters you can post the log from multiAVCHD.
It is definitely something small you're missing or doing wrong.

Let's hope so at least that means there's a solution :)

It's here deank: http://pastebin.com/fiJt65bA

It looks fine to me. Did you try to enable subtitles manually with your remote control? Did you test it on your PC with a Blu-ray software player like TMT? Since your original disc has no subtitles you'll have to switch them on/off manually I think.

I used TotalMedia Theatre 3, with which you just have to drag the BD folder and its starts to play the BD, then when in some episode I right click the video with my mouse and I get no options to enable subs there - When the option should show up. I mean I have done it for movies as well and it does. Though I never did it for a movie that had no subs in first place. I usually just replace one of em with my own subtitle.

I don't know much about BDs on how the menu links to the video and all that, lol. But apparently the BD is not recognizing the subs even though they are included in each stream.

Usually for a BD that has no sub streams you have to add manually through hex edit the mpls. But if you re-author with multiAVCHD it automatically adds the sub stream in the mpls. And the log seems fine.

Open the re-authored BD with BDEdit and see if you have a subtitle stream declared there.

Does it look right crl2007?

Select the CLIPINF Tab too. Here it says that it has a PG stream. So it seems ok.

Yes, all is okay...

The last thing to check is your SRT subtitles.

If you have start time for the first line < 1.700s subtitles will never appear. Still TMT should show the option to select and display subtitles. Also a good idea would be to enable [x] Advanced subtitle processing in Subtitles&Audio tab if you have avisynth and java installed.

Having in mind that value it looks ok..

1
00:00:01,604 --> 00:00:04,787

Though only one subs have a start time < 1.700s all the other 4 start around 2 or even 3 seconds...

okey deank, will try!

I'm sorry to hear that... All of your screen-caps look 100% as they should. I can't think of what causes you all the trouble.

May be next time with another disc :)

Eventually I'll be playing around with the settings and maybe the hex method too and see if I can do something about it eheh

Thanks guys! And awesome program deank :)

Thanks for the guide. I used it to pull out trailers, extra audio tracks and subtitles from Zombieland, Independence Day and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. All went perfect. Shrunk down with BD Rebuilder to fit on BD25 disk and all works perfect in my Panasonic BD-35.

Great guide and great program. Thanks again to you geniuses for the hard work.

I used my PS3 to rip a gift BD (Cruel Intentions) and used [Playstation 3] output. All went fine, I blanked all warnings, audio, subtitles and some features and USB-to-USB processing took just 21 mins :) bringing it down from 23.1GB to 17.3GB (~6GB less).

Now, since the main movie had to be split in 4GB chunks for FAT32 compatibility I found a minor bug. It is the same as with the pop-up menu for the normal authoring mode (which was fixed some time ago) :)

The popup (and all other subpaths) are included only in the first playitem (1st 4gb chunk) and not the rest. It is not a big deal, but I fixed it, so you'll get it in the next update today.

Dean

p.s. I'm glad I didn't update my PS3 so I can still use the YDL linux to read these BD-ROM discs :)

//

You can update with multiUPDATE - it is fixed now. The bug was related only when doing re-authoring for Playstation3 output. Otherwise it was all okay.

1. Yes, you have to repeat every step for every mpls, except the big one.

2. You don't need hex with multiavchd.

Great news.

@texhonolize I see that the 00001.mpls has 47 minutes, so all is normal. The 00003.mpls is part of end credits or a warning / commercial. Follow the guide for SERIES BLU-RAY DISCS and it will be fine.

You don't need to combine nothing before putting it in multiavchd. multiavchd does everything for you.

For the episodic disks, do I have to do all the steps above to the mpls that I don't alter in any way?

crl2007
15th April 2010, 11:13
You don't touch the big one yet, you add subtitles to the smaller ones.

crl2007
15th April 2010, 11:43
Each episode has its own playlist, those you edit.

I've been trying to make a bdr iso that I could test in Power DVD 10 / TMT3 with this program but I keep getting "Disc is invalid format" when I basically follow the the tutorial and not even changing anything when I add the BDMV, what am I doing wrong?

crl2007

It's obvious that you are doing something wrong.

@texhonolize Read carefully the tutorial and you will succeed.

Is there an automated way to add .srt subtitles to a series bluray disc, without having to hex edit mpls files etc. ?

Thanks

crl2007
24th April 2010, 11:25
No, you can't without editing the biggest mpls.

Is it still necessary to do
2. Some discs will have a structure like in the picture below. Two playlists are reffering to the same main movie, each one of them controlling different things.
With these discs, edit all as usual. Do all the operations from the guide ( DO NOT EDIT BOTH PLAYLISTS ). After multiAVCHD finishes, do the following operations:
a) Download MPLS Tools and extract it somewhere in your workspace folder.
b) Copy the original movie mpls files in MPLS Tools Folder and then open a command prompt there. In the command prompt write: fixmpls.exe mpls_name.mpls.
As you can see, the original INTime is displayed.
c) Now, we have to change the INTime to 10 minutes because that is the INTime used by tsMuxer. To do that we will write there 600 seconds. 1 minute = 60 seconds.
As you can see, the INTime is now set at 10 minutes.
d) We replace the original mpls files ( 2 of them in our case, could be more ) with the edited ones. with latest MultiAVCHD output?
I have disk with exact situation (two playlists are reffering to the same main movie). Resulting disk seems normal and plays fine on PC, sadly I don't have BD-RE nearby to test on standalone.

crl2007
26th April 2010, 22:14
Yes, it is necessary because some chapters might not work. The disc plays fine through the end, but chapters aren't good. I will test something to make that easier. Maybe tomorrow the guide will be updated.

l.e. Did the test and this is still the easiest ( n00b friendly ) method to re-author this type of discs.

crl2007
27th April 2010, 19:53
Edited the guide, now it is easy to do it with BDEdit. Just insert 10 minutes for the IN time and BDEdit calculates everything.

Use the [PLAYLIST] tab - there you will see what is inside each playlist.

Quick question. I know this isn't a big focus for your great program but was wondering if you can or plan to include an option for positioning individual subtitles. Would be great for episode titles and some captions.

10th May 2010, 13:31
May be further down the road, but not now.

What you can do is to use easySUP to prepare your subtitles before the re-authoring process. This way you'll have better idea how they'll look and you can position them as high as you wish, too. :)

I think he was talking about an option like DVDSubEdit has, to be able to reposition only 1 line , or two, to be able to put opaque background to some subtitle lines too, not the whole subtitle.

deank
10th May 2010, 16:15
I don't think it was the case, but if it was, he could use Aegisub and create ass/ssa subtitles then process again with easySUP.

I'm sure that that it was, I asked you myself for this feature. :P

Well, I don't think adding subtitle editor to multiAVCHD is a good idea at all.

crl2007

Maybe for easysup.

Once easySUP creates the subtitles then you can manipulate individual lines in BDSup2sub. It has a lot of features.

Check this, this could be the cause.

You have nothing to worry about. multiAVCHD sometimes miscalculates the output size. It happens, but everything will be fine.

1) The screenshot shows downloaded blu-ray material
2) The screenshot shows multiAVCHD in normal authoring mode, not in RE-AUTHOR mode

You do it just the same. multiAVCHD will join those 2 m2ts files and you'll end up with a large one. Or you can choose to edit them individually, using the series method.

@MIGORM Yes, you add subtitle to your own blu-ray discs. Almost all the time you can't find discs with your native subtitle included.

I add subtitles(riped from dvd idx/sub only one language) to both m2ts at the same time and after multiAVCHD finished, I see that multiAVCHD does not join 2 m2ts and after test it with TMT I findout that the subtitle of first stream(00000.m2ts) is accurate but at the begin of second stream movie crashed and TMT doesnt respond after forwading movie the second stream(00001.m2ts) was played but the subtitle wasnt accurate i think after first stream the subtitle begin from first again.
should I split my subtitle equal to time of each stream and use series method or there is a way without spliting?
how about audio?

crl2007
1st July 2010, 17:59
You have to synchronize subtitles too. DVD subtitles aren't synched for blu-ray. Try the series method.
