Okay so something has gone wrong. It has just spent 24 hours encoding three items to fit on a bd-25. The are three directories, each with various files but basically .264 and .dts which are about the correct size. However, at the end it quickly threw up imgburn and I have a blu-ray file structure of 4mb and an iso to match - it ignored the files it had created.

First time, never seen it before. 4MB is the size of the menu file. The step before creating the iso is the step where it went wrong. Where did you place avchdcoder?
What was your output location?

It wasn't in the root it was under c:\bd. Interestingly it didn't change the dts audio to ac3 - there is the original demuxed audio and an identical one (size wise). I'm just muxing the files together to try and create a disc using avchd and am pretty sure they won't fit. I am just redoing the audio to ac3 using eac3to and heard a sound a I heard when your programme was running - like a klaxon. I only glimpsed the screen but there was a problem with the header or something. I guess that that happened when you did the audio which may be where the system broke down, although it did complete.

Each item will be muxed to an avchd structure. Is the BDMV folder including the files located in each temp item?

drmih
3rd June 2009, 21:58
No, there are 4 directories under Temp (to make it obvious what I'm doing I have taken HDTV versions of the Lord of the Rings movies to put on one bd-r):
Lord of the Rings - Disc
Lord of the Rings - item 1
etc
etc
The 'Disc' has a 4 Mb blu ray file structure whereas the others contain the tracks but no muxing has taken place (I set the flag to not delete the temporary files). In addition there is a 4Mb ISO image in the Output directory.

No extra features will be added for next release, needs some testing now and I need to finish the tutorial. Before I can release my new version I need some people to test the following iso on a ps3 and other hardware:

Link to iso file (Mediafire) (http://www.mediafire.com/?mmzy2agydm2)

It is an Image with menu. The previous version didn't work on a ps3. This one should work. I ask you to test it for me.

Edit: Specific testing on a NTSC PS3

Tested on a launch date 60gb PS3 UK PAL, played fine, with menu etc, but, seeking and skipping chapters cause playback to pause/stick, had to restart from beginning to get it playing again, going in and out of menu's worked ok during playback, keep up the good work :D

Seeking and skipping doesn't work because the er nothing to skip to. The subtitles are about 2 hours but the video isn't :) Only thing I need to know if it works on a NTSC PS3.

PS I am ready to release my new version. Installer is ready :) just need to know if it works on a NTSC PS3.

It would be wonderful if you would add the option to choose "normal" priority or (preferable) "idle" priority, which allows for far better multitasking...

Sorry, I don't own a pS3 (nor do my grandkids)

I will release it today. Priority can be changed. Default priority is Low. I am not going to make any changes in the current version. All those things will be added/fixed in the next version.

I'll download and report back any bugs I see with initial testing.

Edit: Just noticed, but one feature that would be nice would be to automatically import the chapters from a bluray. Should be easy enough to do with eac3to, as it automatically scans the bluray structure and will output a chapter file if you ask it to.

Request for automating custom chapter importing was already made way back in post #24:Additionally, please modify your program so that one can simply "Cut & Paste" a custom chapter list, rather than having to enter each time manually?

Better still, why not automate the process? Recent versions of "tsMuxeR" pick up the existing chapter information from MKVs.

tsMuxer cannot deliver me chapter information. tsMuxer can only give you the chapters in the tsMuxerGUI. I am not using that. Or does the command line version give me the chapter?

The chapters are listed by eac3to just like any other track. You simply select the track and tell eac3to to output them to a .txt file or similar.

According to the author of "tsMuxeR", since v.1.7.8:Ability to open Blu-ray playlist (MPLS) files added. Also, when MPLS file is opened, chapters list automatically imported.

Hi twazerty,

This app is looking better all the time, but could you please revisit your x264 encode profile and lower the keyint and keyint_min values? Right now you have them set for 250/25 which makes things incredibly sluggish when scanning forward/backward or jumping chapters. They should be set to 24/2 (this reflects the Blu-ray profiles on MeGUI) to provide a smoother scanning experience that's similar to actual Blu-ray discs.

Thanks,
Visor

twazerty: Thanks for the new version I like the new look and streams window and the pause/resume. However after a little bit of testing I've found a few issues they are:

- set dts-core on select streams, press add, it doesn't go to output page
- if you have a dts-core title in job the job won't start
- output is very strange. Most compatible output is 1.10.6 default but having an option to remove AUXDATA/BDJO/CERTIFICATE/JAR/META would be helpful for the few players that can't play tsmuxer's default output.
- 720p sup files are positioned about 20 lines higher then the original, subs on top of pic may be cut off
- BD25 output uses --vbv-maxrate 24000 projects < ~2 hours will be undersized. BD allows 40 mbps video bitrate max and 48 mbps total.

And a few additions/changes I thought of:
- Menu editor, change selection names, remove intro video, etc.
- apply 'auto-set' on output page by default and remove the button, it's normal behavior in all apps that I've used
- moving force subtitle option to the right of the subtitles on select stream page or in subtitles page
- any use for adding internal subtitles? if not maybe merge order/add subtitles to subtitles page and move browse for external subtitles to subtitles page
- support keeping 192, 224, 256 kbps AC3 (overhead is already public knowledge)
- support encoding 2.0 to 192 kbps
- support interlaced input, if interlaced add x264 --interlaced
- support multiple languages on sub streams to keep in settings
- quality indicator would be a little more accurate if it was dependent on resolution but most accurate with a compression check
- no installer version
- how to use opens the pdf instead of telling to open from start menu
- path of titles already in the project on output page
- option to end playback after all titles are done playing (add break to end of BD commands)
- option to use 64-bit x264 using avs2yuv also have an auto option which is default, if x64 OS use 64 bit otherwise use 32 bit

also did you want me to delete the features that are now added from the list I wrote awhile back?

The chapters are listed by eac3to just like any other track. You simply select the track and tell eac3to to output them to a .txt file or similar.

To add to this chapters have always been track 1 in every BD I've seen. Maybe there is exceptions though. Maybe EAC3to could also get stream languages from BD.

I agree. While long GOP's have noticeable advantages in a few situations over short GOP's. It's disadvantages are noticeable on a lot of players. Plus short GOP's greatly increase the chance of hitting the chapter accurately but for this x264 --qp-file would make it 100% accurate. I think short GOP's should be default and long GOP's an option along with a few other x264 options like psy-trellis.

FIXED - set dts-core on select streams, press add, it doesn't go to output page
FIXED - if you have a dts-core title in job the job won't start
FIXED (Forgot AUXDATA) - output is very strange. Most compatible output is 1.10.6 default but having an option to remove AUXDATA/BDJO/CERTIFICATE/JAR/META would be helpful for the few players that can't play tsmuxer's default output.

- 720p sup files are positioned about 20 lines higher then the original, subs on top of pic may be cut off
the resizing will be done while muxing. bottom-offset=0. Can't find the problem

- BD25 output uses --vbv-maxrate 24000 projects < ~2 hours will be undersized. BD allows 40 mbps video bitrate max and 48 mbps total.
When BD25 is selected max bitrate is 40000

And a few additions/changes I thought of:
- Menu editor, change selection names, remove intro video, etc.
Menu editor is not possible for me. Don't have the knowedge to build it.

- apply 'auto-set' on output page by default and remove the button, it's normal behavior in all apps that I've used
Let's think. Now the output file is based on the Disc Title when you hit the button. If I remove the button and you don't select a location manually I will automaticly choose default location after a question. Great idea.

- moving force subtitle option to the right of the subtitles on select stream page or in subtitles page
My current design doesn't allow me to do that. It is Force subs for each item or not aka for the whole disc. Maybe in the near future I will make some changes. No high priority for now

- any use for adding internal subtitles? if not maybe merge order/add subtitles to subtitles page and move browse for external subtitles to subtitles page
I use the feature myself a lot. Can't find a way to merge them whitout losing space for the order subtitles. No high priority now but I'll find a way to merge them.

- support keeping 192, 224, 256 kbps AC3 (overhead is already public knowledge)
I use my own formulas and those are not availible on the internet. It has no high priority but formulas are easy to make for me. Need your help to speed up the process. If you are interested in delivering me data i will add it to AVCHDCoder. (I'll tell you what and how to deliver)

- support encoding 2.0 to 192 kbps
2.0 is supported if 384, 448 or 640 kbps (same as above)

- support interlaced input, if interlaced add x264 --interlaced
What will output be if i do that. Progressive or interlaced?

- support multiple languages on sub streams to keep in settings
Needed to read it a couple of times before i understood it :) How many? Current is 1. maybe trough a seperate panel where you can select them you want to keep?

- quality indicator would be a little more accurate if it was dependent on resolution but most accurate with a compression check
With the first part: What do you mean?

- no installer version
Next version will also be released as exe only. (Complete install and exe only)

- how to use opens the pdf instead of telling to open from start menu
Great idea

- path of titles already in the project on output page
if i add previous idea this isn't neccesary

- option to end playback after all titles are done playing (add break to end of BD commands)
I thought I already added that. No option but by default

- option to use 64-bit x264 using avs2yuv also have an auto option which is default, if x64 OS use 64 bit otherwise use 32 bit
already planned to add this feature.

Hi again twazerty, these are the 2 settings that you should adjust. For best results, (following XolocoTuxMaster's "SA-Blu-ray" profile incorporated into MeGui), these values should be --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2. Please note these should also be added to the fast profiles. See the following post for more details:

What do you mean merge the subtitles?
From my limited testing loading internal subs only gives only the same options that are already in the select stream window.

See here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1220277&highlight=458752#post1220277)

- support encoding 2.0 to 192 kbps
2.0 is supported if 384, 448 or 640 kbps (same as above)

After overheads are added 2.0 at even 384 kbps seems like overkill.

- support interlaced input, if interlaced add x264 --interlaced
What will output be if i do that. Progressive or interlaced?

Interlaced, if you don't add --interlaced the stream will appear as progressive, not only is this wrong but 30p is not in the BD/AVCHD standards while 30i frames per second/60i fields per seconds is.

- support multiple languages on sub streams to keep in settings
Needed to read it a couple of times before i understood it :) How many? Current is 1. maybe trough a seperate panel where you can select them you want to keep?

All possible, either select\deselect with shift/ctrl keys or check boxes

- quality indicator would be a little more accurate if it was dependent on resolution but most accurate with a compression check
With the first part: What do you mean?

1920x1080 and 1280x720 give the same 'quality message' and 4500 kbps is minimum recommended for both. While it's a complete shot in the dark they should appear quite differently. Using bits per pixel 4500 kbps 1080p = 2000 kbps 720p

- option to end playback after all titles are done playing (add break to end of BD commands)
I thought I already added that. No option but by default

Oh sorry, was looking at wrong output, you are correct. Probably really no need for an option

- option to use 64-bit x264 using avs2yuv also have an auto option which is default, if x64 OS use 64 bit otherwise use 32 bit
already planned to add this feature.

OK I can help with the auto setting if you need help with it.

While it's completely opinionated this is what I'd use:

Pass 1 Fast/Default: x264 --pass 1 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2 --bframes 3 --subme 2 --partitions none --me dia --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim

Pass 2 Fast: x264 --pass 2 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2 --ref 2 --bframes 3 --weightb --direct auto --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --output "output" "input"

Pass 2 Default: x264 --pass 2 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2 --ref 3 --bframes 3 --weightb --direct auto --subme 7--partitions p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,i8x8 --8x8dct --me umh --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --output "output" "input" --psy-rd 1.0:0.2

Pass 2 Slow: x264 --pass 2 --level 4.1 --keyint 24 --min-keyint 2 --ref 4 --bframes 3 --b-adapt 2 --weightb --direct auto --subme 9 --trellis 2 --partitions all --8x8dct --me umh --no-fast-pskip --no-dct-decimate --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --output "output" "input" --psy-rd 1.0:0.2

If you want to stick with just 2 go with default and fast. The slow is fairly slow. One thing that might work better as an option like 'use psy-trellis for sharper output' then as default is --psy-rd 1.0:0.2 while I think it does a very good job of keeping the sharpness of the source some people don't care for it.

Changed so many things al those tiny bugs appeard :P. Fixed.

TSMuxer may resize during demuxing as well, how are you demuxing the sup files?
MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --demux --vbr --vbv-len=500
A_DTS, [sourcefile], track=[trackid]
S_HDMV/PGS, [sourcefile], fps=[source fps], track=[trackid]

What do you mean merge the subtitles?
From my limited testing loading internal subs only gives only the same options that are already in the select stream window.
Merging the tabs :)
The idea of adding internal subtitles is this:
Now you can add the same subtitle again only with a different preset. So you can choose between different settings. This is only usefull for srt and ass files.

They are not correct and/or i can't get the correct bitrate out of it. My own formulas are much better. (Actually they are much easier than those in the topic.)

After overheads are added 2.0 at even 384 kbps seems like overkill.
To prevent problems I need to work with my formulas. I don't want to hack more stuff into it. Currect module allows me to add more formulas.

Interlaced, if you don't add --interlaced the stream will appear as progressive, not only is this wrong but 30p is not in the BD/AVCHD standards while 30i frames per second/60i fields per seconds is.
So both input and output wil be interlaced? What will happen if I add --interlaced on a progressive input?

1920x1080 and 1280x720 give the same 'quality message' and 4500 kbps is minimum recommended for both. While it's a complete shot in the dark they should appear quite differently. Using bits per pixel 4500 kbps 1080p = 2000 kbps 720p

In the past I already had this disscussion. Basicly:
Visible quality will remain the same for both resolutions at the same bitrate. Analysed frame by frame and both gave me similar quality. Sometimes the 720p was better and sometimes 1080p was better. That is why I use only 1 quality indicator because I am convinced 720p at 2000kbps is far worser then 1080p at 4500. (Tested on a high action movie: The Matrix) Don't want to start the discussion again.

OK I can help with the auto setting if you need help with it.
I'll ask for help if I can't get it to work. The topic on the forum provides me enough information for now.

While it's completely opinionated this is what I'd use:

Passes

If you want to stick with just 2 go with default and fast. The slow is fairly slow. One thing that might work better as an option like 'use psy-trellis for sharper output' then as default is --psy-rd 1.0:0.2 while I think it does a very good job of keeping the sharpness of the source some people don't care for it.

Don't actually now what I am going to do.

Edit: What do you think the bitrate is for this file:
DVD5
120 minute movie
AC3 448kbps

If you calculate the bitrate that is needed for the encoder. I'll do the same with my formulas. Remember: The bitrate for the h264 file. Keep in mind the unknown overhead of m2ts. This way we can see if I made a mistake calculating with the values in that thread.

Changed so many things al those tiny bugs appeard :P. Fixed.

OK

MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --demux --vbr --vbv-len=500
A_DTS, [sourcefile], track=[trackid]
S_HDMV/PGS, [sourcefile], fps=[source fps], track=[trackid]

I don't think that should affect it. I'll investigate further.

Merging the tabs :)
The idea of adding internal subtitles is this:
Now you can add the same subtitle again only with a different preset. So you can choose between different settings. This is only usefull for srt and ass files.

Oh ok that makes sense.

They are not correct and/or i can't get the correct bitrate out of it. My own formulas are much better. (Actually they are much easier than those in the topic.)

To prevent problems I need to work with my formulas. I don't want to hack more stuff into it. Currect module allows me to add more formulas.

I can't make much sense of them either but it's no surprise as math was one of my worst subjects.

So both input and output wil be interlaced? What will happen if I add --interlaced on a progressive input?

These are the times when --interlaced should be used as per standards:

framerate is 29.97
resolution is 720x480 framerate must be 29.97 fps (pulldown)
resolution is 720x576 framerate must be 25 fps
framerate is 25i

In case of confusion I'm using the framerate of how it's on BD as 29.97i / 25i instead of how it's displayed on a progressive TV at 60i / 25i after frame doubling.

In the past I already had this disscussion. Basicly:
Visible quality will remain the same for both resolutions at the same bitrate. Analysed frame by frame and both gave me similar quality. Sometimes the 720p was better and sometimes 1080p was better. Frankly compressibility should be the only quality factor that's ever used. Bitrate and bits per pixel are wild guesses.

This is such a PITA without a free-range calculator that's accurate like gordian knot. I can't get you 448 AC3 at this time, but RipBot264 gives me:

120 minutes
192 AC3 = 4714 kbps
224 AC3 = 4715 kbps
256 AC3 = 4669 kbps

60 minutes
192 AC3 = 9716 kbps
224 AC3 = 9717 kbps
256 AC3 = 9671 kbps

It looks weird but I remember the dev saying it's actual and I haven't seen anyone report sizing issues with any of these bitrates although they might not be very well tested.

Input is still being decoded by 32 bit apps, but for avs2yuv you need to pass it some extra parameters, also pipebuf.exe can assist on setting a larger buffer for more speed.

An example using this tool (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=144140).

Source: E:\test.avs
Output: E:\test.mkv
Params: --crf 26

Analayzing source file:
E:\test.avs: 1280x720, 2500000/104271 fps, 1275 frames

Resolution: 1280 x 720
Frame No. : 1275
Frame Rate: 2500000/104271

x264 0.66.1101M b69548a
built on Feb 5 2009, gcc: 4.4.0 20081231 (experimental)
Commandline for x264:
"F:\TOOLS\x264 x64 Launcher\pipebuf.exe" "F:\TOOLS\x264 x64 Launcher\avs2yuv.exe" E:\test.avs -raw - : "F:\TOOLS\x264 x64 Launcher\x264_x64.exe" --crf 26 --threads auto --progress --frames 1275 --fps 2500000/104271 --output E:\test.mkv - 1280x720 : 4

The weird --fps is needed for accurate 25 and 29.97 output. 23.976 won't be accurate (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=147672) until x264 is fixed. Common --fps like 29.97, 29.97030, 29.97/10001 won't work.

I just downloaded and started to install AVCHDCoder v.09.06.07 - and McAfee tells me that the package includes "PrcViewer" as part of "Process.exe" in "AVCHDCoder090607beta\Tools\".

McAfee states that "McAfee has blocked a potentially unwanted program (PUP) on your computer. If you do not recognize it, we recommend that you remove the program."

Please advise, is this a "safe"/legitimate content that you've knowingly included in this package, or is there a reason for concern?

Did a check with AVG. No detections found. I don't think there is a reason for concern. What will happen if you manually check process.exe What does mcafee says?

Seems to be a normal warning. See this mcafee site:

@twazerty

I installed v.09.06.07, while also keeping v.04.23.1 installed on the same system. Does having both versions installed on the same system cause problems?

I ask because, since installing v.09.06.07, I've had completely unacceptable identical results regarding the two titles I've processed (as both MKV and M2Ts formats sourced from original, commercial BluRay discs) using both v.04.23.1 and v.09.06.07 - a total of 8 full conversions:

Although the original unprocessed rips play perfectly, all 8 "AVCHDCoder"-processed full movies exhibited sporadic but frequent video stuttering (especially during horizontal panning scenes), as well as total stoppage of motion, while audio continued.

I then took a 1 minute, 191,000Kb clip from one of the original rips, "National Treasure", that included (the same) horizontal panning and processed it using both versions of "AVCHDCoder" and then "BD_Rebuilder" (with the same settings). The results were as follows:

1) Both versions of "AVCHDCoder" exhibited the same stutter and stop behavior

2) The "BD_Rebuilder" version played perfectly

3) Each version of the "AVCHDCoder" conversions was 388,000 in size (Twice the size of the original, unprocessed clip)

4) The "BD-Rebuilder" conversion 119,000 Kb in size

Please keep in mind that I had no such problems when the only installed "AVCHDCoder" version I had was v.09.06.07, as well as "BD-Rebuilder"

Please advise.

**ADDITIONAL INFO - I uninstalled v.09.06.07 and then tried v.04.23.1 - Same unacceptable result.

My app can't cause such problems (only the logics are inside AVCHDCoder). I totally depend on external applications. There can only be 2 things that can cause the problems: The x264 settings or ffdshow. What will happen if you choose the faster encoding profile?

If I did found stuttering I never released this app. I also can't find any problems. They all work perfectly. You can also try to update ffdshow. I know ffdshow can cause strange problems. (Like converting but generating very poor video files after updating ffdshow it was perfectly like it should be.)

More versions of AVCHDCoder can be installed side by side. When you only run 1 instance there can't be any problem.

AVCHDCoder always pushes the bitrate to the limit. That's why the file is twice the size.

AC3 224 Kbps
AC3 256 Kbps
AC3 512 Kbps
AC3 576 Kbps
DTS-ES 768 Kbps

Further testing on my part seems to indicate that the problem lies with concurrently running another program that uses either x264 or ffdshow.

I believe this could possibly be overcome by (As I've previously suggested) adding "Idle" as a performance option (As is the case with BD Rebuilder), as "Idle" makes for better "sharing".

Your thoughts, please?

"Idle" is another option in addition to "Low", "Normal", "High", and "Highest" - and it appears to more properly deal with multitasking involving two programs (e.g. "AVCHDCoder" and "BD Rebuilder" [or a second iteration of "AVCHDCoder") that access the same underlying programs (e.g. "FFdshow" and/or "x264")...

(I believe there is discussion of this in the "BD Rebuilder" subforum here)

I have found that TSMuxer has issues resizing some sups like these (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?njmgtaij4xj) and the only current workaround I know of is to us BDSup2Sub. Also is there a chance of having a free-form AVCHD bitrate calculator either inside AVCHDcoder or a separate tool that allows:
video: typing a time to the second HH:MM:SS and open an avs, (m2)ts, mkv
audio: selecting bitrate from pulldown box and loading ac3, dts, wav files
subs: multiple selection of up to 32 subs
resolution: 1920x1080, 1280x720, 1440x1080, 720x480, 720x576
frames: shows number of video frames
bpp: shows bits per pixel by calculating: (Width * Height) / kbps = bpp
compressibility check: uses avs with 'SelectRangeEvery(frames / 30, 14)' serving to x264.exe --crf 18
results of the compressibility check in % like gordian knot

@turbojetsetatup_old: low = idle process priority if that's what you mean.I believe you are mistaken. "Idle" allows for "on-the-fly" adjustment of CPU usage, based on the usage of other programs running concurrently, whereas "Low" priority uses a fixed amount of CPU, regardless of other programs running concurrently...

(Check out "VirtualDub's" options, for example)

You are referring to the non-standard process priorities like virtualdub uses?

Idle in virtualdub does not equal 'idle' process priority in task manager, process explorer, etc. The only way to accurately change the process priority of virtualdub while it's running is through the status window. I've never ran into any other apps that use non-standard process priorities.

I do have plans to continue with the development of AVCHD Bitrate Calculator (My first app with a short life). There are couple of reasons:
-Now I understand more about how overhead is working.
-Now I do have more formulas.
-I do have formulas for wav 5.1 and 7.1

Some information:
Bitrate is not based on resolution. High or low resolution will give you the same overhead. Bitrate cannot be calculate by telling how many subs you use. The calculator needs the size of the final sup files to calculate bitrate. SRT and number is useless.

Basicly it comes to this:
- Open mkv/m2ts or enter running time (HH:MM:SS or just in seconds)
- Choose bitrate from dropdown box
- Add sup files or enter total size or use fixed sizes of 25MB each
- Hit the calculate button

I don't know if I add Quality checks.

I've added another feature to AVCHDCoder:
Support for WMVHD files with the support of keeping all 6 channels !!
Only wmvhd with wma will be supported. wmvhd with ac3 or dts wont be supported.
Before you can convert wmv files you need to install dbpoweramp and the wma plugin because the conversion of audio is:
WMV --> WMA (asfbin.exe)
WMA --> Flac (CoreConverter.exe)
Flac --> AC3 (eac3to.exe)

Speaking of srt would it be able to use Srt2BDSup or tsmuxer to convert to sup for srt input?

Basicly it comes to this:
- Open mkv/m2ts or enter running time (HH:MM:SS or just in seconds)
- Choose bitrate from dropdown box

It's a good start and I'm looking forward to it have you considered these?
- avs video input
- browse for audio input
- on the fly calculation instead of pressing calculate

I don't know if I add Quality checks.

The reason I mentioned these is because bits per pixel is a fairly simple calculation and tells you roughly what bitrate is needed for 1280x720 to get roughly the same crf (quality?) as 1920x1080 and vice versa. Compressibility check is by far most (only?) reliable calculation when trying to decide what target/resolution to use. While I can understand it's kind of complicated to add I hope you do consider it for it's something that's pretty important when dealing with DVD5/9 sizes and so far missing from the AVCHD gui's. Gordian knot some what works for x264 but I've found it unreliable for x264 calcutations.

One more thing is x264's output of 23.976 is changed this breaks some software (eac3to) and possibly 24p on some standalones (panasonic, samsung) to workaround this either add assumefps(24000,1001) to avs or use x264.exe --fps 24000/1001

http://i43.tinypic.com/w7gf4o.jpg

Forgot to add this to the changelog:
-Elapsed time is shown in the header of AVCHDCoder.
-After queue is executed a popup will show with the total elapsed time.

Turbojets remaining items, I've gave them a priority and added some of my own.
Priority 4: Must Have
- keep HD audio, PCM could use Pcm2Tsmu (for BD25 at least, 1-2 GB free on BD25 should be no problem)
- get original chapters from mkv/mpls/bd and use as default

Priority 3: Should Have
- ts input
- mts input
- Move job up/down
- Abort button
- kill only command windows avchdcoder calls instead of all when deleting all jobs (bug fix?)
- if video is avchd compliant and video+audio fits size selected offer to not encode or encode just audio and just mux
- x264 settings for advanced users: --ref 1-4 --bpyramid --psy-rd --deblock --vaq, and long (240/24) or short (24/1) gop
- output with encoding info and errors
- More advanced settings like choosing multiple preferred languages.
- Burn files one by one after queue is executed.

Priority 2: Could Have
- H264 input
- external audio support
- get language from all streams
- mutliple audio track support
- convert chapters to x264 qp-file and use for accurate chapter stops
- mpls input (very helpful for seamless branching and keeping BD chapters)
- BD input selects largest playlist by default with an option to choose another
- compression check with --crf 18 on 3% of the clip using selectevery and use the results to judge quality instead of bitrate

Prioriry 1: Would Have
- DTS encoding
- silence eac3to sounds
- have a non wizard mode
- option to keep AUXDATA/BDJO/CERTIFICATE/JAR/META folders, on by default, there are more players that need these then don't, with new tsmuxer a 'strict AVCHD' option to delete AUXDATA/BDJO/CERTIFICATE/JAR/META folders for the 1 maybe 2 players that still need this.
- minimize to tray option that displays job#, first pass or second pass, fps, % complete and eta

Will not be added:
- menu background option
- scene selection like menu
- avs input

Thanks for the new version and the calculator.

A few things to add to the avchdcoder list:
- use BDSup2Sub instead of TSMuxer (crashes on some subs) for resizing subs
- don't delete AUXDATA folder of output (6 HW and 2 SW players need it. only 2, but probably 0 now (samsung firmware updates) require it to be deleted) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=146339)
- if input fps = ~23.976 add this to avs: AssumeFPS(24000/1001) so the output is the same as input (eac3to and possibly 24p HW issues)
- add to end of the avs: ConvertToYV12() (x264 only accepts YV12 and some decoders use other colorspaces)
- possible issue with current directshowsource(fps=23.9759856527702) some decoders may not like the unusual framerate (23.976 is safe)
- custom size can't go below 1000 MB
- 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes is technically correct but unusual outside of some HDDs/ISPs and other than CCE 2.7+ I've never seen it used in encoding
- also is there a reason for the comma in the custom size, I have a feeling this is why it can't go below 1000 MB

Also in the next version of the calc do you plan on adding custom size in MB? Adding custom time in HH:MM:SS format?
And what are the current sizes in MiB of the current coder/calc sizes?
