Eac3to and More GUI 1.08 beta 2 (http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/yraen@sbcglobal.net/lst?.dir=/Eac3to+and+More+GUI&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/)
Changelog:
v 1.08 beta 2
- fixed bug in gui where video track number was not loaded to the command line when called by preferences
v1.08 beta 1
-added preferences tab for some default settings for eac3to
To enable the preferences you desire, on the preferences tab click the box on the upper right "Use Preferences".
The audio source stream type drop downs numbered 1-7 are the types of files you prefer, in the order 1-7. The gui will look to match tracks in the files/folder with the track order you give it here. Language is also figured in unless left at <none>. Those are the only two that tracks are sorted by.
Video tracks are currently loaded on a first track seen basis. If this proves to be a problem in the future (more movies with the 480p track first), I'll add in code to search for the highest resolution video.
Known bug: When clearing the unlocked settings with preferences enabled on both the audio and video tabs, the preferences are loaded again.

Thank you yraen, for this excellent GUI!
The batch creation in particular is a huge timesaver.

Thanks Momber, and I agree about the batch processing. I like to have my computer working for me when I'm not using it, not me waiting on it so I can use it. :)
If there's anything anyone would like to see in the preferences, let me know.
I'm currently uploading some videos here in my briefcase (http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/yraen@sbcglobal.net/lst?.dir=/Eac3to+and+More+GUI&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/), hopefully yahoo won't complain about the size of a couple of them. They are:
eac3to.wmv - This shows loading eac3to up and putting the command line into the batch queue.
eac3to_vc1_to_eac3to_to_mkvmerge.wmv - This shows setting up eac3to, running the video through vc1conv, through eac3to to mux into mkv, and finally into an mkv with the audio in mkvmerge.
mkvmerge.wmv - This shows setting up a mux in with mkvmerge using the command line created with the eac3to.wmv.
preferences.wmv - This shows setting up the preferences and enabling them.
setup.wmv - This shows setting up all of your paths and output folder.
sources.wmv - This shows loading up the sources for processing with eac3to. It shows loading of files and folders, with files being a single m2ts and also a pair of evos that will be joined by eac3to.
I apologize for the lack of sound. I just found out that my microphone jack died sometime in the past. Either that or my microphone is dead.
Suggested order of viewing if you're new to this gui is:
setup.wmv
preferences.wmv
sources.wmv
eac3to.wmv
mkvmerge.wmv
eac3to_vc1conv_eac3to_mkv.wmv

I meant a screenshot of the gui with it on the path/sources tab. :)
I don't think Vista64 would matter. You could always try running it as a 32bit app. I think you can do that anyway, on Vista 32 here.

ah ok sorry...but simply... i give to your gui the path, following your instructions, and, instead of seeing the list of video and audio in the little window, your program minimizes to desktop, the little window rests white and to get the control of your gui again i have to terminate by task manager...

So you never get a command prompt box open? Could the " in the paths cause any problems in your windows? If so, you might try changing it to what would work for your region.

Okay, in the picture below:
http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5364/tipsok8.th.jpg (http://img338.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tipsok8.jpg)
1. You've got the eac3to path here.
2. Change the character (delimiter) that is wrapped around paths in windows. An easy way to find out what character is used for your windows is to right-click on a shortcut, choose properties and look at the target box. Mine for firefox reads:
"D:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
so the " is the character I would want to use for a delimiter.

cool, now it works!! i entered in the command box!
it used libav to decode eac3. is it good? i listened the conversion it did, it sounds ok.
i would be better to improve support to multiprocessor, but i know i'm asking too much! :)

I have a 4 core processor and I have never noticed eac3to using even a fraction of even one core. It's just not CPU intensive work. Your problem with excessive CPU usage is just some weird fluke or a bug somewhere.

Was it the delimiter not working well with your windows? Or something else? I ask so that if someone else has the problem they can see here what fixed it for you.
Demuxing and muxing aren't cpu intensive, they are more hard drive speed intensive.

Same here. I think the problem he had was something in the regional windows that didn't play nice with the delimiter, causing it to hang on the command line when it was trying to start eac3to.

It's looking good Yraen. Nice job on the gui.
Two comments: I think the idea you spoke of with naming chapters that don't have names is good (at least as an option). Also I think that the option to reprocess if a gaps file is detected should be on by default and there should be an option to disable it. I don't know why madshi hasn't made that a standard feature of eac3to anyway. Is there any reason at all why you wouldn't want to reprocess it?

Thanks. Aside from a couple of minor things left to do, I'm not sure what to do next in it (not counting keeping up to date with eac3to).
About the gaps file, I actually found a clip that suffered when ran using the gaps file, post about it here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1137147#post1137147). I'm not sure how old that clip is, nor if they will change the recording format any once that PVR ships.
You can set the gaps to be ran again by default in the gui, just go to the preferences tab, enable preferences and check the box there. It will be enabled every time you run an eac3to command then. :)
I'm thinking about a box the user could type in what they want the chapters named, but due to my singular language skills, the numerals would probably have to be 1, 2, 3, etc. I'd have it default to "Chapter". I'll post in the eac3to thread and see if madshi wants me to go ahead with it, or he wants to include it in eac3to.

There are still some little bugs. For instance I need to trash the ..ini for the gui from time to time because the track listing window will not appear. Also the gui will acquire black blocks on the text in various places when there is a window over it which is then minimized. Neither are much of a problem.

If you're open to suggestions....I think the only feature of eac3to not covered by the GUI is stdout. How about an option to pipe the output from eac3to into another encoder, eg. Nero AAC encoder. The location of the Nero executable could be included on the input tab, and there could be an extra tab for the stdout options. This could include all the nero options (vbr quality, const bitrate, HE, LC etc), and new output options could be added to this tab as desired.
We wouldn't want you getting bored now would we. :)

I can't duplicate the track listing bug. I've never had it not appear for me. Clicking the "Show Track Listing" button on either of the eac3to tabs doesn't bring it back? If not, next time it happens could you send me the .ini?
I know about the black blocks. Unfortunately, that was a bug introduced in AutoIt recently, the scripting language/tools I use. Until they fix it, we're stuck with it. It does disappear on moving the mouse over it for me though.

That might be a big can of worms. :)
Let me think on it, see what would be the best way to cover it. At the very least I'll get you a input box to type everything in. I'm thinking maybe a pop-up window with the stdout options. If it grows beyond just one, nero, then I would probably move it to it's own tab.

Changelog:
v 1.08 beta 4
- added naming of blank chapter names in chapter files created with eac3to.
This is configurable to the text you want, defaults to "Chapter".
This is also on the preferences tab, to be enabled by default if you wish (only if a chapters file is being created by eac3to).
This will not overwrite names for the chapters if they exist.
OK. Thanks for considering it. I don't want to create loads of work for you though.

I've finally got the code where I want it, so adding something in for an existing program is almost as simple as dropping it into the middle. Right now I'm leery of adding another tab as with 1.09 (almost completed) I'm adding another program into the mix. I'm just waiting to hear back from the author on whether or not it is okay to include it in the gui.

I've got a question for you and others. Would I be able to do something like:
eac3to "input\folder" 1) 3: "stdout.ac3" | "path\to\nero" options "path\to\output.aac" 4: "path\to\audio.ac3"
Or would I be limited to just doing the stdout on the line? I'll read up on the usage for nero, I just need to know whether or not to limit it to one per command or I can do multiple. Also, can I use eac3to parameters between the "stdout.ac3" and the "|"? I'm trying to figure out if it needs its own audio/video selection controls or I can work with the current output from the eac3to audio/video tabs.

An example command line that I found is:
eac3to input.data stdout.wav|neroaacenc -q 0.35 -ignorelength -if - -of test.mp4
I think stdout needs to be wav for input into neroaacenc.
As far as I know, eac3to can only use one instance of a filter, so doing multiple audio conversions simultaneously may not be possible.
I'm afraid I'm at work all this weekend (2 x 12hr shifts) so I am unable to test the various options.
Cheers, Beastie.

Hi,
In another topic a user suggested: "If you did DTS encoding with "surcode" then I suggest you to pass result through "eac3to". This will reduce 768kbps DTS files size nearly twice. (just "eac3to input.dts output.dts")".
I did use SureCode, but would Eac3to indeed reduce the size of the file nearly twice? If so, does this also reduce the sound quality at the same time?
One of my test encodes is 21:30 long at 237MB so if I could reduce size and retain the same quality, I'm interested.
Tried "EAC3toGUI", but it doesn't seem to produce any file after I use convert .dts to .dts file.
Thanks

I've read through the nero documentation, and it should be pretty simple to implement. Nero says it supports pcm and wav, so I'll offer both of those options on the stdout tab. I'll also give multiple outputs a shot. It would be nice to do the video at the same time you're sending the audio out. :)

I don't know if it would or not, but giving it a try couldn't hurt. I don't have surcode, so I am unable to test it. I'd convert it, send it through the receiver and see if you can hear any difference in the two clips. For myself, I use flac for my encodes.

Did you name the output file different from the input file? If memory serves, that gui keeps the same name as the original, just changing the extension. Since you were going dts to dts, it probably tried to overwrite itself. If you're using a newer version of eac3to, there should be a log in the output folder. Read it and see what eac3to actually did.
If you want to use this gui to do it, just add your dts file as a source on the paths/sources tab, load it on the eac3to audio tab, name your output file, choose dts as the save as type and hit run command line. That assumes you've set the paths for eac3to and destination folder.

Some conflicts with the preferences. I told the GUI to automatically use the -libav switch and it tried to apply it to the chapters.txt command, lol. So the command line ended with 1: "D:\movie\chapters.txt" -libav. Eac3to obviously didn't like this. Now that I look at the log closer I see that I also told preferences to make all videos .mkv. So I also have 1: "D:\movie\chapters.txt.mkv" in there too. rofl.
it would be nice, if one could demux certain audio/video/subtitle tracks (and not just all)
or should I make this request rather in the eac3to thread?

I see why the -libav switch ended after chapters. Currently when building command lines the order is:
1. video
2. chapters
3. subtitles
4. audio
You didn't have any subtitles or audio selected, so the switch went after chapters. I'll add a force decoder for video as well, and put a check in to ensure an audio/video track is being worked with before including the switches. Unfortunately the code currently has all of the 1.09 additions so it will this weekend at the earliest before I can get it out.
I cannot duplicate the "chapters.txt.mkv" though. My chapter files always end in .txt. Can I get a screenshot of the preferences tab and a screenshot of the command line with that in it?

You currently can with either the gui or eac3to command lines. For the gui follow these steps.
1. Load your source file(s) or folder.
2. On the eac3to video tab, select that folder in the source drop down.
3. Select the titleset you want, only if the source is a folder.
4. Select the chapter, subtitle and video tracks you want.
5. Add in any audio from the audio tab.
6. If you want more tracks than the ones you just loaded, click "Lock Current Settings To Command Line" and add in more tracks.
7. Once finished either add to batch queue or run command line.

I know why it's happening now. I'll add checks in the next version. Right now, it's adding the .mkv and no video track is loaded so it adds itself to the end of the previously locked track. I gotta find time to fine tune that preferences tab. :)
Best bet for now, if you're going to lock multiple tracks to the command line would be to take mkv off the preferences tab.
About -libav, I realized after I posted earlier that it isn't needed on the video tab, just need to ensure that it doesn't appear on that part of the command line.

I have been converting TRUE-HD to AC3 just fine using your program which solved one of my blu-ray streaming issues to the ps3. I have a couple things now that I'm not sure that the program even supports but I think it does so im gonna ask. The two things that I need to do our as follows:
Problem 1) I have msts file right now that I need to grab the Video out of which is vc-1. I need to convert this to h264. Can this be done? will it still be a msts file?
So far I have ran vc1conv on the vc-1 stream and got a new file which I named Movie. I then Tryed to upload this back into the program as a source file and it works fine. Then When I click on eac3tovideo It doesn't see the track. I also have tryed to just drop this file straight into tsmuxer but it says unrecognized format. Maybe you can help me with what im doing wrong.
Problem 2) When Im trying to convert DTS-HD. I get a couple errors that say like Libav cant be used, sonic cant be used etc. But then it starts extracting the DTS CORE. Should this work just fine if it just extracts the core and converts it to ac3 or is there gonna be a large loss in quality? Also When Im running this app it keeps getting to about 70% then the computer is freezing. :(. Is it something my comp is doing or is this conversion not capable of happening because I need to use libav or sonic or something? I also tryed to FORCE libav but the same thing happened.

@HighDefPro
1.) If you want to change the format of your VC-1 files you will need to re encode them with a tool such as MeGUI. You can choose the playstation profile for x264 encoding. M2TS is just a container. You can proceeed to mux you audio and video files to M2TS with a tool such as TSMuxer or you can use a different container.
2.) Are you sure you have the Sonic decoder installed? There is an option in the GUI to run the eac3to test of installed filters. Try this. Probably what you want to do is extract the DTS core. I suppose you could then convert that to ac3 if you felt so inclined. You would just tell the gui to make the resulting file and ac3.

I also tryed to FORCE libav but the same thing happened.
libav is included but only can extract the core DTS.
Sonic decoder (not free) can do something more (but not full).
Don't worry is enough quality.

I have just tried to run the latest version of the gui, and AVG anti-Virus is reporting a trojan, BackDoor.Generic9.APKV.
I have tried to download again and get the same message. Has anyone else seen this? Has the Yahoo page been hacked?
Cheers, Beastie.

There is no virus in it. I downloaded a copy, scanned it and compared it to a freshly compiled copy (luckily I save the source as the version name with each version) and they are the same, byte for byte. I did send an e-mail to AVG though, to see if we can get this false positive cleared up. Thanks for the heads up. I did go ahead and replace the file on yahoo though.
Here's (http://www.autoitscript.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34658) a link that talks about this happening before with the scripting engine I'm using.
Thanks for the heads up. If it happens again with other AV makers, I'll get them the source so they can see it also.
Been a long work week this week, but it looks like Sunday I'll get the time to finish 1.09. Gonna smoke some meat, so 8+ hours of smoking = plenty of time to code while I do nothing. :)

Gonna smoke some meat...I just took-up smoking myself, VERY late in life! :D Electric smokers are right up my alley--no muss, no fuss, no watching...
I have been doing "personal computing" since 1976 (Imsai 8080), have never owned an Anti Virus program, and even now when I have 30 PCs and other gizmos on my network have never had a virus or infection of any sort.
They are A LOT more trouble than they're worth!

There is no virus in it.
Thanks for that. I was lost without it for a while :)

Yraen, can you add some button at your GUI to show complete informations for the loaded Files/Folders?
Something to show informations like this. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1141876#post1141876)

There is a track listing window in the gui. It should appear beside the gui the first time you use it. It shows the titlesets and track listings for the files/folders you load as source on the eac3to tabs.

Eac3to and More GUI v 1.09 b1 (http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/yraen@sbcglobal.net/lst?.dir=/Eac3to+and+More+GUI&.order=&.view=l&.src=bc&.done=http%3a//briefcase.yahoo.com/)
Changelog:
v 1.09 beta 1
- added stdout support for eac3to.
Currently only neroaacenc.exe and pcm2tsmu.exe are supported. If you know of more let me know and I'll add them.
- added limited support for tsMuxeR. If more support is needed, let me know which options need to be included.
- added the ability to take an eac3to chapters.txt file and convert it to a tsmuxer command for the meta file.
- minor bug fixes.
To use the stdout feature of eac3to, the output file name must be stdout. This will feed it to the program chosen on the Eac3to stdout tab. Only use one stdout at a time.
Limited tsMuxer support is included. In testing I've sent audio and video to .ts, .m2ts and blu-ray disc structure.
Due to the nature of what this gui is intended for, batch processing, it is almost impossible to show the meta file that will be created since the information about the tracks cannot be gotten until the tracks exist. I started to code in storing all of the information about these tracks once gathered by eac3to, then realized it was pointless because I could not get that information from xport.
The tsMuxer tab works like the rest of the tabs. Choose your input file, add a source name and save type, add in the options for this input file, lock to command line, add more (if wanted) input files, add options. Once complete, either add to batch or run command line.
There is also the option of using a chapters.txt file in the destination folder to set the chapters for tsMuxer.
Not tested is loading an input file with more than one track in it (audio or video). I'm not sure how tsMuxer would handle that.
If there are any tsMuxer options that should be included, let me know and I'll see about adding them.

Hi Yraen!
Thanks for continuing to develop this extremely helpful GUI.
If there are any tsMuxer options that should be included, let me know and I'll see about adding them.
Since you asked: I regularly add srt subs to BluRay by way of tsMuxeR. To make them look as nice as possible, I find it's always beneficial to select an alternative font (default = Times New Roman. Yuck!) and to further control its appearance by editing size (default = 60 can be a bit small depending on font) and particularly placement (default bottom offset = 16, too little for my taste even on 16:9 videos, needs to be ~150 for 1:2.35 videos).
Just a suggestion...
Ta!

Changelog:
v 1.09 beta 2
- fixed a bug that kept subtitles from being demuxed
- added .sup to the subtitle name if left off
If I don't find any more bugs the next release will include subtitles for tsMuxer.

Thanks Yraen! Your GUI is pretty mature now. And it seems like the issues I had with occasionally needing to delete the .lni are gone.
