Anybody familiar with DVDXPLATINUM or VIDEO VAULT software?

HELLO, I am a green as green can be newbie. Can anybody share his/her helpful knowledge about Video Vault and DVDXPlatinum software for Win XP? I purchased both and read thru the user guide, but its like reading a tech manual on how to fly to the moon! I am about to give up hope of making decent backup copies of my dvd movies.

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED CONCERING THE ABOVE TWO SOFTWARES.

If I have posted this in the wrong area, I am so sorry. I'm just about at the stage of teeth biting, hair pulling, and cussing thru clench teeth. This forum is very active, I see a lot of diff issues concerning diff softwares, and I would just like to say.....I WILL NEVER BE THIS SMART EVEN IF I STAY HOME ALL DAY AND READ ALL THE POSTS...THIS FORUM IS FANTASTIC!!!

THANKING YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

These are the programs that you mentioned?

Just for curiosity: can't you do the same thing using freeware programs, instead of paid options?

I mean, that programs that you mentioned are kinda expensive. And I don't know if they are good or not. So, why should I buy it if I can do the same using freeware programs?

If somebody have already tested one of them, put you experiences here too and go to discuss about the programs performances.

Thanks in advance.
