How to make DTS intro in Maestro play only when needed?
Hello lads. It's been a while...
In short, I want to make a DVD that has a DTS intro, which would play only when I have selected the DTS track for playback. This is what I mean: I made this menu, where you can select Dolby or DTS soundtrack. I also have one DTS trailer "movie" and one feature "movie". Now I want by pressing "play" on the menu, if user has selected Dolby to be navigated to the feature movie while if DTS is selected I want by pressing "play" on the menu to be navigated first to the DTS trailer "movie" and then to the feature. What's the easiest way to do this in Maestro? I have tried linking the "play" button to the DTS trailer and using the properties (right click) of the DTS trailer "movie" I noticed the display properties. It has "Display movie if expression is true" which obviously is helpful and you can select "audio stream no" but where I expected to find stream number 1,2,3 and so on it has a five digit number. What number should I put in there, if my feature's DTS stream is stream no 2? Please excuse me if the above is uncomprehensive, I'm writing this in a hurry behind my boss' back! Cheers to all |

Open up an ifo you have (of an existing dvd). Go to pg_city and to a pgcs. There you can see the stream values of the various audio streams. I guess maestro is asking for those values.
PS. do it on a title which has dts, since dts has some different values. I would have told you the values if I knew them by heart, but I don't. + I have no dvd lying around here

And you could also use some GPRMs of course. FIll a GPRM with a value based on the choice made (dts/no dts).
Then do a compare on GPRM value to decide what video to play.

Yes, having used DVD Studio Pro myself, first thing I though was to set a GPRM and then read it. But how do you set a GPRM on a button selection and how do you read it back before playback of a movie, in Maestro?
Will also see to the other method by taking a look at a DTS disc with IFOedit, but I seriously doubt I'll understand anything! Thanks for your help |
