Looking for a clone to this player - pics supplyed
Just bought a hardware DIVX player. The brand is UPXUS, although I do not believe UPXUS actually makes the player, since UPXUS is a very small company.
Since months no firmware was released for the player, and when it finnaly was it wasnīt compatible at all.. Fortunatly the eeporm delete codes were incompatible, and I did not ruin my player. But the player requires an update, since it lacks in several departements. It freezes on me when reading not so good media. (I really donīt know how this got the DIVX VOD certified stamp, but I did got a working code for the DIVX page, so I think it is). Anyway, Iīm searching for a clone, so that I might try and do a firmware update. I donīt want to ruin it off course, so I really would like to be chure about compatibility, and as such, I give you here links for all the pics, one exterior, one of the remote, and two of the interior. The exit is not present, although I can supply it if necessary (it has 5.1 exits, RGB, standard RCA, SCART, and DIGITAL outputs.) The pics are in high resolution (about 700 kb each) The remote pic: http://www.pcmanias.com/shot1.JPG The front pic: http://www.pcmanias.com/shot2.JPG The interior pic: http://www.pcmanias.com/shot3.JPG The chips detail pic: ZORAN 776 http://www.pcmanias.com/shot4.JPG The Firmware looks exactly like this one from a diferent brand (I forgot to take a picture of this) http://www.nerd-out.com/darrenk/AD12...menu-zoran.jpg Thank you in advance for any help you can supply! you should correct the URLs to your pics.
http://www.pcmanias.com\shot1.jpg/ is not so correct, it may work in IE (not tested), but definetely not in Firefox/Mozilla. http://www.pcmanias.com/shot1.jpg is the correct way, though it will work only if there actually are some pics to show... by now, i get an object not found error message instead... peter/phl |

Actually I donīt see what is your problem...
Not only the pics are there, and fully working, but all the links are ok... http://www.pcmanias.com\shot1.jpg/ as you state doesnīt work on any browser since itīs an invalid url, and as such you should get an object not found error, but the links are not pointing that way.. The last / is not there, and i canīt understand how you get it.. And BTW, I use Firefox and the links are working! Besides the links point to a shotx.JPG, and not shotx.jpg. Unix servers are case sensitive, so the extension is JPG and not jpg. |

well, now the question ? am i the only one who sees the wrong URLs or are there others with this problem ?
i see that URL in the status bar when i point at one of your links, and are indeed invalid. have u tried those URLs ? first thing is, that a correct URL begins with http:// not http:\\... and when you look at the picture below, the mouse is over the first link (mouse pointer not visible) but the status bar shows something differen... see ? got my point ?

Metal_Spirit, if you could correct the URLs in your original post using the Edit button you could get more replies here. I, for example, never bothered to click on any of those links as I knew I would be directed to a wrong destination and I would have to edit manually to get to the correct one and I'm too lazy for that. The links as they appear are different from the actually links you are directed to when you click on them. You can see when you move you mouse pointer over a link that the real URL appears on the buttom-left corner of Firefox is different. |
