Stretching?

I ended up purchasing the Liteon LVD-2002, and am quite pleased with it so far. I have noticed however that the black bars above and below the movie are smaller when it's a ripped movie as opposed to the original DVD. This results in the movie looking oddly stretched. I assure you that I have ripped them in the correct aspect ratios. I'm just curious if this is something unique to this player or if a lot of people experience this.

Other than that, I think they need to improve on the fast forwarding and rewinding feature a little bit. It's a pretty good player for the bargain. I found it for $105 with free shipping.
