Elta FW
As Golem writes: http://www.golem.de/0312/28995.html the firmware will be back online tomorrow. The firmware on Elta's page was definetly for the 8882.
But somone from http://www.dvdboard.de/forum/showthr...0&pagenumber=3 got the right firmware from Elta's support via e-mail. I suggest to wait till tomorrow, cause than the right update will be officially downloadable on Elta's website. greetz Admiral von Leuchten

mtk.bin file from "8883MP4_1_Update.zip" is the same as mtk.bin file from official update "8883 MP4_Firmwareupdate 1_3_4_5_7_17122003.zip", so there is no risk to update with "8883MP4_1_Update.zip".
I want to know is Elta 8883 MP4 support cyrillic characters, when it works with SRT or Ssa or SMI subtitle files? If somebody want to help/test I can send him subtitle files with cyrillic characters via email. |

It does. Theres was a beta firmware available 2 days ago, they accidently put it in the 8883 donload folder.
It support subs and folder navigation. They removed it because it was only beta. http://www.dvdboard.de/forum/showthr...threadid=60540 The 8883 does NOT support subtitles. The info in the news is from the 8882 update file. |

If somebody is interested in the beta update for the 8882 download it here:
ftp://zhnujm.dyndns.org/8882.MP4_Fir...7_17122003.zip be careful, maybe it has a good reason that elta removed it from their servers. |
