XviD to SVCD, need help with Freeze Frames

hi guys,

i'm kinda desperate right now, as i'm trying for one week now to encode The Ring (XviD) to SVCD.

it's not that i don't understand DVD2SVCD, but the XviD movie contains freeze frames. When i played the created MPG-file on my pc, the video freezes while the audio continues playing. After the freeze frames, the video is of course not in sync anymore with audio.

I've tried to fix the AVI file using the following methods:

- DivXRepair, deletes the bad frames, but does not handle audio well, stays async
- AVI DeFreezer, crashes upon pressing "DeFreeze"
- VirtualDub MP3 Freeze, at first sight: does the job well, the AVI plays beautifully in WMP, but when i convert to SVCD, the audio is not in sync anymore.

So, the big question: how do i fix this? deleting bad frames is not the problem, it's the big question how to get the audio back in sync again?

any tips on this??? i hope you have something, otherwise i'm gonna convert it to my VCR. (yes i know, it sucks but i searched the hole damn internet and couldn't find a useful solution.)

As per the sticky "do not ask for help on movies you don't own."

Since AVI's of the Ring are obvious to be a bootleg of some sort this violates forum rules.

If you were making a backup of the DVD you owned or a movie that had these problems that you made then we would not have a problem with this.

Please only post questions about legal material.

On another note all problems belong in the basic forum.
