Frame/s Dropped?

Hello,

I ripped a couple of DVDs (E.T. and Lilo) and converted it to VCD (MPEG1).
When I played it on my Apex, the picture quality is super perfect using the default settings of DVD2SVCD. The sound is super perfect as well.
But here's the problem I'm getting, the movie would play for like 6-7 secs smoothly but after that, it would skip a bit of scene of like 1 sec. Then it would play smooth again for another 6 secs and will drop (skip) again a 1 sec part after that. And this pattern happens until the movie ends.
I get the same result with even with SVCD output(Mpeg2).

The workaround I'm doing is to re-encode the whole movie using TMPGenc using its template VideoCD(NTSCFilm). It eliminates the skip problem but the picture quality is degraded. It's very poor.

What setting should I set in DVDSVCD so that the skipping problem is elimated?
You help is greatly appreciated. More power!!!!

Thanks,
Mon

Post your log file

What model of Apex are you working with? Goto vcdhelp.com and search for your model of Apex, you'll be suprised at some of the information you can find, sometimes even answers to skipping problems

I have Apex AD-703. I checked VCDHELP.com but didn't find any skipping problem topic.
The only thing I found bit related to it is that the problem would be the "authoring".
"Authoring" gets me alienated. Could it be the reason on my problem?
If you think so, is there any suggestion how do I play around with the "Authoring" within "DVD2SVCD" ?

Thanks,
Mon
