Editing out wind noise

I'm looking for a way to edit out wind noise from a few of my videos (car racing videos, windows were down ~~~> stupid me). I've tried Premiere's audio filters and can't seem to be able to elminate the noise. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd still like to hear my engine, so I don't want to turn the music track into the main track.

I am not able to remove the noise. To soften it up a little a use the highpass filter in the bandpass menu in premier 6.5.
It gets a bit better after that.

thanks. i guess i'll just have to find the right frequency to clean it up a little. i'll do that and crank up the soundtrack to draw attention away from it.

You also might try running it through an expander, probably after eqing it, I'm not sure if there are any free directx plug ins for expanders out there, probably somewhere...but then you could set the threshold just above the audio level of the wind, so that when it's just the wind sound, the volume will be drastically reduced.

I guess it's a whole lot of frequencies and will be very difficult to remove. Maybe you could try a noise-reduction filter like the noise reduction directx-plugin from Sonic Foundry (it works in Sound Forge for sure, but it should also work with Premiere or Ulead Media Studio, I think)
