mpeg2dec2.dll why not default?

DVD2SVCD allows us to choose from mpeg2dec.dll and mpeg2dec2.dll.

Could someone please explain to me whats the difference, other
than the higher buffers and SSE/SEE2 optimizations?

If mpeg2dec2.dll is 'better', then why isn't it the default?

Has anyone seen any problems with mpeg2dec2.dll?

Thank you.

Basicly, bug fixes, optimizations, and more buffers are the main differences in the newer version.

Although I cannnot verify (since I'm not DVD2SVCD ), I assume his reasoning for not making it the default is the "If it's not broken, don't fix it." principle. Meaning, for those who don't have issues with the old version, just leave it as the default.

However, it would make sense to set the new version as the default since it is better overall, and I haven't seen anybody with problems using it yet...

Thanks for your clear answer.

I hope DVD2SVCD can jump in and give us some insight on the subject
