problems with audio sync...

well I've tried a lot of players but none of them seem to synchronize the sound correctly with the video.(WMP 7,WMP 6.x,Micro DVD,Power DVD)

The problem is: if I want to watch the movies with external subtitles I have to use them ! ! !The subtitles are sync and everything, but these players... I don't know... It might be my computer or something... some kind of setting that I must not be doin g right... (btw, the only player that works in my computer is Divx Player, and as you all know it doesn't read external subtitles

Could you give us your hardware configuration, and which OS you use ? It seems you're processor isn't fast enough to decompress both audio & video at the same time, but it could be something else.

ok... P3 Processor 700 Mhz, 256 Mb RAM (PC 133), Ge Force 2 MX 200, Soyo off board motherboard and Creative 128 soundcard....With Windows XP Professional... that´s it.
Yeah, that´s right it´s probably my hardware...

but why can I watch everything ok in divx player and never get it in other players? Oh... another strange thing... In divx player I just can´t move the seek bar. My windows says that I´m out of virtual memory, but in WMP I can freely move it and fast foward the movie...

Is the bitrate of the movie you want to watch isn't too high, your configuration is powerful enough. There may be something else which slow down your computer.
What you should try : disable all postprocessing, give a try to ffdshow ( a codec which can playback divx 3, 4, 5 and xvid ), and, why not, Zoom Player and BSplayer.

Btw, is your movie slowdown without the subtitles ?

No man, not at all, the speed never changes...but sometimes (not always) even some subtitles that were sync, get async!

Postprocessing :

The DivX codecs have some filters that can be added after the decompression, to improve the looking of the result. Such filters slow down the decompression. If you want to set manually the level of processing, you must reach the setting tab of your codec. Usually, with WMP, you can find it whith right-clicking on the picture, do to properties, advanced tab, then click on the codec filter, properties. The setting are easier to reach with BSPlayer or Zoom Player.
Of course, since you have different codecs, you have to set each of them to zero postprocessing. But with your configuration, you should not have slow playback, even with strong postprocessing settings, that's why I recommend you the trying of ffdshow, bsplayer and zoomplayer.

where can I get it? It´s not in the downloads page, is it? Couldn´t find it!

Man, what makes me more angry is that I´ve just took the movie that was suppose to have sync problems to a friend´s house and it played fine...

damn... and his machine is slower than mine... I´m getting desperate. At this moment I´m getting the software you recommended and see what I get. thanx a lot anyways...

But I still think there is something that slow down your computer. Well, perhaps also your hard disk is too fragmented.
