Win2k and SVCD Prob

Hi
I have an problem playing an MPG from an VCD on my PC, I only have the MPG file but as far as I now this should be enought when I only play it on PCs. Ok I got this MPG File and it just wont play in PowerDVD it doesnt even want to play in WinDVD. All I see is green and I can hear some messed up sound. So everybody will think the files damaged but its not because it played perfectly on WinXP or Win98 a few days ago. I only have installed the DivX 5.01 Codec but nothing else is installed. What can be the problem?
I only tried playing it from the harddrive because I dont want to waste a CDR
