avisynth script editor for windows 10?

Hey folks!

Wow it's been awhile since I've done much AviSynth stuff and I've found that my old standard of AvsPmod doesn't work well at all on Windows 10.

Drag 'n' drop is broken, and it's generally horribly slow.

What are you guys using these days for script development? I loved AvsP's built in preview! I can't go back to using notepad++ and virtualdub!

Help?

Works ok for me. I've upgraded from Windows 8.1. Same as before.
So maybe not AvsPmod problem?

I'm using AvsPmod on W10 too, works perfectly well.
Avisynth+ r1576, plus this fix.

Hmm this must have been some weird glitch from the Windows 8.1 to 10 upgrade I did. I deleted AvsPmod and downloaded a fresh copy and ran it normally. Now it works perfectly

I have also upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10, and still use AvsPmod. However now a number of source filter do not work correctly, most notably directshowsource.
I haven't as yet come across anything that I have not been able to load using other source filters and all plugin I've used seem to work.
It certainly works with both Avisynth 2.6MT and Avisynth+.
I had a feeling I had to do something to get it to work properly on Windows 10 but I can't recall just what it was, sorry. Hope you get it to work soon.

If you wanna just an Avisynth script editor, use Notepad. I'd already used it on Windows 10, and I've had no problems.

luquinhas0021,

Any text editor will do but PSPad (not the best, but what I use), and NotePad++, are pretty good, both far better than Notepad
builtin for Windows. Other than that, I cant fault VDubMod, except for the fact that it dumps you on error, instead of giving a reasonable
error message. I'm sure that AVSPmod is lovely for most, but I'm a bit awkward and dont not like being automated. (love automation,
dont like ME being automated by s/w).

EDIT: And for those that would say that VDMod is well out of date, ... Well no, there aint no replacement,
VD current dont do Avisynth script editor at all, yes you can use an external editor, but VDMod is so much more
convenient, except on error. [EDIT:EDIT: I got about 5 versions of VDub on sys {4 on hotkey}, you use what best suits purpose at the time].

I still use the Script Editor in VirtualDubMod 1.5.10.2 for edits and preview - I guess it's a habit I've kept from when VDubMod was current and in vogue.

I have the short-cuts for VDubMod, VDub 1.10.4 and MeGUI sitting in a dedicated folder (Encoders) on my desktop.

Typically, if I'm starting a script for a new video file, I'll generate the basic source script with the AVS Script Creator in MeGUI. Then I'll opening it up in the VDubMod Script Editor for further editing or copy-pasting over to an existing script. And then when I'm happy with the script I'll load in VDub 1.10.4 or MeGUI for encoding. Might seem a bit convoluted, but when you've done it a few thousand times it becomes second nature.

I only upgraded from Win7 64-bit to Win10 for about 5 days before unresolved network access issues forced me to roll back. But I thoroughly checked out all of the installed software in that period and VDubMod, VDub and MeGUI all worked fine.

Worbry, Latest VDMod is 1.5.10.3, I dont recall what was done in .2 -> .3 update.
(There's also French v1.78 VDMod, but has bugs, I dont recommend)

'ere StainlusssS, wots wiv this Worbury spellin' ?

..but thanks. What's that saying "A wise man brings out of his treasure both the old and the new" or something like that ? Unless of course the "old" is old rope which there ain't no money in, if you get my drift (cryptic message that StainlessS will instantly understand)

Arh, A rose by any other name would smell just like old rope

Guessin that old rope thing is a nautical term, from when your life depended upon rigging and sails and stuff.
"Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey", is another one, and nothing to do with metallic primates, nor their gonads.
(Despite what you might read in some internet posts on meaning).

Funnily enough I saw one last evening running past our house chasing a welders van.

People must think we're nuts. But all in the cause of science.
