11.0.6001.8000 some success stripping DRM from Zune songs
I have successfully stripped the DRM off of songs that I purchased from the Zune Marketplace with 11.0.6001.8000 IBX installed.
How? Drmdbg 03/03/2009 (latest) FreeMe2 0.4 (latest) One problem...When I open the "Freed" .wma file that FreeMe2 creates, windows media player doesn't exactly play the file, it plays half a second of it which sounds like a harsh and shrill "chirp" ... I drag the freed .wma file to iTunes and it converts it to an mp3, and it says the file is only 1 second long. So...Workarounds? EDIT: After trying this same thing with 5 other songs, each "Freed" song is a different duration, but each of them sounds like a shrill chirp...They all last less than 5 seconds. I was hoping there was a way to install an older version of Zune Software, so you can use an old IBX version...I installed 1.1, but opening the marketplace tells me "Download latest version to access marketplace" or something like that. Maybe 2.5 doesn't say this? Probably does.

Swift_,
Then you are talking about removing protection from Zune pass subscription content... which is a violation of this forum's terms of service. When you 'rent' content, you have no permanent rights to the content. As you just stated, when you "buy" content (you get 10 free credits each month, right?)... you get a MP3 file. Problem solved. |
