Who can solve this Problem for me?

Hi There,

I've a very irritating problem with my created svcd's. Maybe one of you can tell me what the problem could be.

When I created a SVCD with DVD2SVCD 1.0.5 b2 and I'll play them in my Cyberhome standalone-player the movie freezes sometime just for a second. When I play the movie on my pc with PowerDVD 4.0 the movie freezes at the same places as with my standalone. I burned my cd's with CDRWin 3.8g at a speed off 4x. I've burned the movie (cue/bin) a second time an also at the same places the movie freezes.

But when I play the created muxed mpeg files I don't see any freezes on my pc.

I use the settings of the Doom guide.

Can anybody help me with this strange problem.

It's your DVD player.
I'm having the same problem with my Philips 712.
On my old one is was working fine.

Watch the DVD player and you'll propably see the display going on/off also.
Do you have this problem also with regular DVD's. ?

It can't be my standalone player because when I play it on my PC the movie freezes at the seem places.

Yes, It's my DVD player that freezes my movie. I've tried it to play on my pc with my plextor burner and the movie play good. No freezing at all.

But what can I do to stop does freezings. Is the bitrate to high? Or something else?

Maybe someone could tell me some more info.

As an owner of a CH AD-M212 with replaced DVD-Rom, I can tell you with a certainty of 99,999% that's it's the Cyberhome standalone to blame. Specifically the cheap "loader" or DVD rom used by CH.
You did not specify which model or what firmware you have, but that is of little importance.
As mrdutchie asked, are you sure you don't have ANY problems with DVDs?
I'm afraid that your problem will probably continue to get worse, and if you are out of warranty, you are in for a DVD-Rom replacement. Don't worry though, it's not as scary nor as expensive as it sounds

Of course the bitrate might be too high, but CHs can handle almost anything.

Before you buy a player you may want to check the list of players at www.vcdhelp.com It can save you similar headaches in the future. All the Onkyo players listed there have real limitations. I don't know what other brands you have access to, but definately check out that list of players first. Make sure to read the comments on the players. It may be able to technically do something you want, but have problems with it.
