Audio volume statistic

Hello,

I need command line application which gives a statistic abaut volume of a sound in video or audio file. It can be just audio. It can be in dB or some other relative format.

I need it for tracking audio volume in some channels i am streaming with videolan. I need to restart the stream if audio gets lost. This is happening on my PVR 350 card. When that happens videolan stil streams audio but is that low volume that i can't hear it. If i restart it, then it works great.

Thanks
