Error in UpdateIFO...
Hi
I am trying to do a backup of "Closer". I extracted the files using DVDFabDecrypter, then run a movie-only backup. Everything is fine, until the final step which terminates with an error: "Error in UpdateIFO: VTS_01 VOBID: 01/cellid: 02 was not found in the VOB." I'm using version 1.10.9, and the encoding process has never been stopped and resumed. Any suggestions? |

That means that after DVD-RB has completed the REBUILD, there was nothing existing in the stream for that VOBID/CELLID. Could you look and see if there is a file called V01xxxx00001002.AVS in the working directory (D2VAVS)? (the xxxx could be any number -- but probably "0001").
Are you running "Movie Only" or "Movie and Menus Only"? I own that DVD (NTSC Version), I'll give it a test today.

Could you send me your REBUILDER.INF file (to dvd-rb@dvd-rb.com )? Also please send V01.D2V. I ran the NTSC version and it came out fine. Also, one would think that if no AVS file was created for that cell that it didn't exist in the source...
I think it may be a bad rip. Sometimes DVD Fab sees a "true" error as copy protection and nulls it out. You may want to try wiping the disc off with a soft cloth before starting the rip. Anyway, your INF and D2V should tell me if it was found in the source VOB.

I got this same error last night on the movie The Mask of Zorro. I origonally ripped it with DVDdecrypter as Movie and IFO's only. I re-ripped "All" and it processed as normal without the error.
Should I always rip the complete movie if I intend to use RB? |

Of course not. It there's an error it needs to be fixed. I just haven't been able to repeat this one...

Definitely use the "Full Disc" mode in DVD Fab -- there are a whole host of possible problems with the other modes... @Rioka What mode are you using (in DVD Fab Decrypter) to rip?

Read this thread. This error is a bug in DVD Fab Decrypter.

Added note: If you step back to DVD Fab Decrypter version 2.9.8.3 (anything pre v3), it will work.

I was wondering if you understood what I meant. Sorry so vague.
I use DVDdecrypter though, not DVDFAb decrypter to rip to the HD. I probably just missed a file in the rip. I will pay more attention to the exact error the next time it comes up for me. Just getting ready to do Inside Man, and x-men 3. Will see how it goes. Cheers. |

Sorry I'm so late I was away in the past days.
In the last attempt to reencode the movie, I run FixVts before DVDRB. The process *did* work this time; but I've just read yuor post on DVDFabDecrypter problems, so I think the result may be corrupt. I'll watch the movie in the afternoon and let you know if it's OK or not. PS I think I've already deleted the temporary directory after the last encoding. On monday I'll check it out. |

I've just checked the movie, it seems ok. So preprocessing the ripped files with FixVts seems to fix the problem.
Anyway, on Monday I'll check if I've really deleted all the temporary files or I can still send you the log. Have a nice weekend |

That's ok, no need to send it. I know what caused it now.
I think I'll give a quick test and see what FixVTS does to correct it... I would think it needed to change all the CELLIDs. If it finds that and corrects it, that's actually pretty impressive.

I looked at it -- and what FixVTS did (at least on the disc I tested) was change the IFO. So you end up with an IFO that references 29 cells, all of which have the same VOBID/CELLID but start/end on different sectors...
I think it would be better to just steer clear of v3 of DVD Fab until this is resolved, hopefully they'll get it fixed soon. I'm not sure what might happen in the this scenario (it might even work)... but it isn't standard.

I just tested the beta release of DVDFab Decrypter with "UNDERWORLD EVOLUTION" and it appears to work correctly now...
