I use 0 as a min bitrate in VBR encoding. Some say some players may not like it and advice using 300 as a minimum value. Waldok

You mean what minimum value should be used dor the average bitrate when encoding with CCE ?
Well, depends on the movies, and depends on the format you are targetting. If you do SVCD, I think anything under 2200kbs/s as an average bitrate is not good enough (still depends on the movie itself) As for DVD, I would say something around 3500-4000 Kbs (depends a lot on the movie itself and on how much space you have left on your DVDR to put the movie).
