which one? //could u include it in next release as an optional way to get a "correct" WAV temp file?avi2wav :)
i like the MPEG v1 support, maybe u could leave it as a legacy feature (or optional, well who knows.....)RealAnime 3.0 uses a track management module, unlike 2.25. Also, all audio go through besweet for decompression, filtering and later recompression too. If besweet doesn't like it, I will have to make more and more big temp files which is not a good thing.
is this restriction also with Mpeg Layer 1 and 2?
no way to make it softer? (it sounds very restrictive...)Most "anime" source are all in MP3.

Well, I'm fixing bugs and will release 3.0 final today. I will post the features and specs as well. Stay tuned!

Final release is out!
Fixed:
* Audio didn't load correctly
* Besweet temp folder used the source
* Now only MP3 is a valid codec for AVI (besweet crash).

ups, u forgot to include avi2wavcmd.exe in the setup:

* do u find BeLight 0.22 beta 4 (included in v3.0) a better option than latest beta 6?
* the same for avi2wav, realanime has the 3.3 version, latest is 3.5 ( http://agrgic.tripod.com/avi2wav/aviwav35.zip )

The "M" is for Modified version (to avoid the 23.976/24 bug?) ?
(r286) Reverted to GPAC 0.3.0 and updated SSE2 pixel routines to V5.
Yes, if you have SSE2 CPU I suggest your use the latest from Sharktooth
the x264 encoder that comes with Realanime is SSE2 compatible, doesn't it?
and it's the Sharktooth's one, no? [i have a Sempron64 3300 (supports SSE2)]

Sirber
28th August 2005, 20:57
Well, I will need a new relaese. I got a bug with mkvmerge:
mkvmerge v1.5.5 ('Another White Dash') built on Aug 21 2005 15:40:13
'C:\Program Files\RealAnime\temp\0.new.avi': Using the AVI demultiplexer. Opening file. This may take some time depending on the file's size.
'C:\Program Files\RealAnime\temp\out_aud.1.rm': Using the RealMedia demultiplexer.
At the moment mkvmerge does not support converting from VfW-mode AVC/h.264 tracks to native Matroska-mode AVC/h.264 tracks. You can, however, first import the video track into a MP4 file with e.g. 'MP4Box' (use Google). Then you can use mkvmerge and put the video into a Matroska file.
If you really know what you are doing then you can force mkvmerge to put this AVC/h.264 track into a Matroska file even in VfW mode if you add '--engage allow_avc_in_vfw_mode' to the command line. You can do that in mmg with the 'Add command line options' menu entry in the 'Muxing' menu.

huh? are you talking about the AVC in AVI bug?
damrod
2nd September 2005, 11:37
no mkvmerge
see doom9 news main page
MKVToolNix 1.5.5 no longer supports AVC video in VfW compatibility mode, can extract timecodes in a timecode v2 format, allows you to specify an output charactersets for all strings that are being exported, allows to extract raw AVC streams and fixes a number of bugs.

I started last weekend RealAnime LE, which is a simpler interface than RealAnime 3.0 to x264 with nero he-aac audio codecs. It has mainly all features of realanime. It's started from scratch and more object oriented.

could you tell us what are steps in realanime's encoding session (with default settings)?
i mean:
* Encoding video track
* Converting RAW to AVI
via avisynth?
0.avs in TEMP's folder
AVISource("C:\noname.avi", audio=false)
* Converting audio track to WAV
via besweet? which (internal) command line?
RealAnime 3.0 uses a track management module, unlike 2.25. Also, all audio go through besweet for decompression, filtering and later recompression too. If besweet doesn't like it, I will have to make more and more big temp files which is not a good thing.
* it creates an anime.rpjf with the procedure to encode the wav file in racp (he-aac at 64kbps) to producer. Resulting in a "\temp\out_aud.1.rm" audio only file
there is a 0.avi in TEMP with video only:
then mkvmerge.exe stars muxing both audio & video files?? how (command line)?
i'd like to know a bit more of internal's realanime job (extended info will be great) :)
thnks

1) Source analysis
2) Track extraction*
3) Track encoding
3a) Video: producer (CMD), x264 (CMD)
3b) Audio: decompression (besweet (CMD)), producer
4) Merge in MKV

Hello Sirber,
I have finally gotten RealAnime 3.0 working, but somehow it won't mux subtitles (srt) into the mkv output. I'm trying to encode a mkv file with SRT & OGG - everything goes on fine, log says both video and audio encoding successful, but somehow I got an error when it tries to merge the subtitle into the container. How I got to this conclusion is because everything works fine if I disable subtitles from the input.
Getting really frustrated, I resorted to manual muxing using mkvmerge and found out where the problem lies. Somehow I couldn't mux in the SRT file unless I added "--engage allow_avc_in_vfw_mode" in the command line as stated in the GUI instructions. Is there anyway I can overcome this problem? Would it be advisable for me to force mux the subtitle in this way?
Thank you.
Update: Ooops, that was dumb of me. I just read that you have already posted this bug with mkvmerge in the previous page. So I take it that it's safe to force mux the file?

Hi, I added this flag in the last release of 3.0. Please redownload or wait for 3.1 (to be released in few minutes). The problem is not the sub but the video. RealAnime produce an "incompatible" stream: h264 RAW --> AVI --> MKV. I have no choice coz x264 MP4/MKV output module is broken.

could you add an auto test option
if ( audio source WAV file exist in \temp)
.....go on;
else
.....encode avi's audio to wav;
that use the same audio source wav file (noname.avi.wav in \temp), to avoid re-encoding it?
(because every time the session begins it takes more time... and i wanna try severals bitrates and compare quality :) )
thanks a lot
