View Full Version : Correct FPS in subtitle file

I have created a subtitle file in Ulead DVD Workshop 2.0 format with Subtitle Workshop. I was changing the delay in the subtitles and after the last change I see as FPS this 8738457782321152 and from the 1103 subtitles i can only see 10 of them in subtitle workshop. That happens if I open the file in subtitle workshop. If I open it in Wordpad I can see all the subs with the correct timing but with wrong FPS. Is there any way to correct the FPS? there is no possibility to find the subtitles again (they will be made from the beginning) as it's the original file and there is no way to copy/paste the subtitles. Yeah, I know, next time keep a backup file.

Help me, please.

any chance you can upload such a wonder? :)
output fps box in SW changes the framerate. For your future info, it also has an undo feature ;) (saved my butt a few times)

Are you two related? I bet that in some obscure language "niath7" means "Sultan niamh's 7th wife" :D.

From what I see, the subtitle format you mention is directly editable, so you may be able to fix it with... NotePad. Just edit the "#FR:NNNNNNNNNN" line (NNNNNNNNNN is that big number you mention) and save a copy.

I change the "FR;NNNNNNNNNN" line but it didn't correct anything. In every subtitle it has everything wrong. From what I found it has destroyed the positioning of the subtitles and the framecounting.

Well, I finally copy/paste the subs one by one, couldn't do anything else

If you had correct timings from another subtitle, you could have used the translator mode. Sadly, from what you say, I think SW had overflows in the timings, and that can almost never be fixed.
