Hi All,

Apologies if this is a FAQ.. .but if it is, then I've not seen it from searching.

I've got an AVI file with a .SRT file. When I play the AVI file downstairs on my Pinnacle Showcenter100g, it only shows the pictures, not the subtitles.
I've added the plugin on the computer upstairs to show the subtitles, but this doesn't help me downstairs.

Is there a tool that can take this subtitle track and merge it into the main video track so I have a single AVI file with subtitles included which I can then play downstairs on the TV?

Thanks,

Gavin

If you want to get a subtitles burnt in your AVI file you have to reencode your movie. If you don't know AviSynth, VirtualDub and such applications you can use AutoGK and set its mode to File Input. Then you will be able to load your AVI file and pressing Ctrl+F8 you will get a possibility to open the subtitle stream that you want to add. Additionaly you have to install the codec (DivX or XviD) to recompress your movie.

You may want to search for this term here in the forum, or google it... Or follow the instructions dr.Prozac gave you, they should work just fine. Good luck. :)

nah ... the core of Pinnacle Showcenter is a sw media player which does support subtitle playback. u should
- install the subtitle plugin properly (refer to the manual)
- use (convert if needed) the subtitle of a psc playable format (refer to the manual)

btw, isn't it psc1000g ? i talk about that, anyway ;)
