View Full Version : No preview of hard-subbed AVI in SubRip

Hi !
I tried to open several AVI files using SubRip 1.30b8.
There is no preview in "Video file viewer" - just white blank window.
I tried to reinstall AviSyth and also use other versions of AVS but it didn't help.
When I try to open temp.avs script located in SubRip directory it is decoded correctly and I can play every AVI file included in this script using Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player 6.4
So, what is the reason ?

The SubRip's thread is quite long and it will become longer and longer. SubRip is a very popular tool and I'm sure there will be many similar questions in the future. So maybe it would be better idea to let users place their posts in general subtitle section so that it will be easier to search for desired topic. Think about it.

Well, if it does get that large, maybe we could have a SubRip sub-forum in the Subtitles forum. However, I don't know if that's possible: looking at the General forum, it has several sub-forums, but no posts :(.
Again, for me it is easier to monitor a single topic, and I usually answer questions as soon as I find the time.

Good news, I've solved the problem. A new beta will be up in a few hours.

Edit: Beta 9 fixes the problem by requesting the video decompressor to provide RGB24 images. If no such video decompressor is found, but some video decompressor provides a different image format, a message is shown saying that the video may not appear, and it needs to be recompressed.
