I have a foreign film that I want to compress with subtitles but the thing is I want the subtitles to not be over the film - that is I want to leave black space at the bottom for the subtitles to appear in. How would I go about doing that? I know enough on how to rip the subtitles from the movie and encoding the movie separately.
These subtitles will be selectable which means I'll be putting this all in a ogm or mkv container. I already have the subtitles ripped to srt format but it's easy enough for me to put them in idx/sub or something else. The audio has already been ripped and encoded and the film has also been ripped and encoded. I did not leave any black space on the actual film but I can reencode in about an hour so it's not like I can't go back and do it again.
