no solution yet for star wars alien subs?

i am trying to backup the star wars dvds to xvid using gk and have come across the usual alien subtitle problem.

i got it working to the point where the aliens have subs but choosing that track in vobsubrip also leads to having names of people like lucas displayed in the upper area of the picture every now and then.

in another thread i read there were three subtitle tracks for english: full subs, alien subs and comments. if that is right, choosing the alien subs track seems to mix with the coment track, wich is unacceptable for a good rip.

has anybody got a proper solution for this. couldn't find one in the other threads actually..

ok, i figured it out myself. i'll write it down for the next one with the same problem to find it..

what i did:

1, first i extracted all subtitles with vobsubrip.

2, then i opened the .idx file in subresync where i could easily spot out the alien subs because subresync actually shows you the subtitles. to find the right ones, i went through the different subs wich you can select on the left.

3, once i knew wich was the right stream, i went through each line viewing the actual title output and marked the lines i wanted to keep with the right mouse button wich brought up a green circle in front of the line. dunno what it actually is for, but it helped me seperating the good from the bad ones wich were inbetween and displayed rubbish like "lucas" or other names.

4, i selected the good ones by holding down the ctrl button and klicking on the subtitle entries with a green circle upfront.

5, i pressed "save as" and off i was with a perfect set of .idx and .sub wich i could now use further as a regular subtitle file. ..used 'em in gordianknot in my case.
