I know Subtitle Creator can convert a .txt subtitle file into bitmap sequence for DVD authoring. However, it seemes to me that this software is not good enough. Are there any software better that Subtitle Creator?

you sure live up to your username! :D

Well, you have to be more specific. Which parts of SubtitleCreator aren't good enough in your opinion? The outputted subs? The GUI? And how exactly not good enough?

SC has been going through some major changes lately, and from v1.8 and up it has a brand new GUI, which IMHO works very well. Paddington, the author of the program, is currently working on a new version which fixes some smaller issues in the new GUI... He's always open for constructive critism and good ideas and suggestions for improvements, so don't hessitate to drop him a line in a reply in the SC thread.

SC is by far the best freeware tool out there to create SUP bitmap subtitles. It beats Srt2Sup in many respects, see the SC documentation file for a comparison of the two programs. I have myself been using Srt2Sup for some years before changing to SC some months ago, and it's a h*ll of an improvement if you ask me.

You may be able to find "better" programs within the range of commercial tools. DVD Lab Pro is said to have a nice and easy "Add new subtitles to DVD" feature which lets you both create the bitmap subtitles and re-author the DVD in one process.

Well, what I actually mean is I want to set the tracking of the character, the size ('taller' or 'shorter'), etc. And I can't do it within subtitle creator

Do you mean stretching the subtitles horizontally and vertically? Actually there's a function for this in SC... In v1.8.3 the strecthing settings are placed in the sidepanel to the right in the main window.

If that's not what you had in mind, I'm sure Paddington will look into it and maybe implement the feature you like, if you drop him a line.
