Can't make subrip recognize i with trema (ï) as a single character

Hi,

Could someone please tell me how to tweak the advanced OCR setting of subrip so it can extend its selection on the trema to the whole ï letter? You can check the attachments below to see my sub pblm and subrip advanced OCR menu.
