How do i add subtitle to a avi file ? i have created the file using Virtual Dub Divx Compression. Installed VobSub.
i create the subtitles using subtitle workshop but i don't't know what should i do next?
which software should i use next ?
... which software should i use next ?it depends on what do u want ;)
1. displaying outer subtitles on playback is supported in most of sw players. no need to mux them. find the proper config in the player's setup.
2. if u plan 'divx playback' u need a special format for your subs (afaik, it's not supported by subtitle workshop)
3. hw players may also support outer subtitles but for some of them 'hardsubbing' (overlaying the subst while encoding) is needed.
however, in general, u can mux your subtitles to your avi w/avimuxgui, but think of whether u really need it.

If what you want is permanent softsub, then AVI-GUI Max should do that job like yaz said.
For hardsubs, use textsub() filter for virtualdub that came with vobsub.
Better yet, get avisynth, grab a copy of vsfilter.dll, and use the textsub() filter in avs.
